Just a Reasonable Facsimilie

Don't you hate it when you are enjoying the most gracious hospitality of a dear sister in Christ, and you realize you should have brought your camera to capture the mood, the wonderful fellowship for posterity....for your blog, but it is sitting on the kitchen counter at home! But the images of my morning are so vivid and sweet I just had to try to recreate the mood here to savor later in the quiet moments. Gerry lives on the edge where the county gives way to country living, and her home is situated high up in the mountains of the Blue Ridge. She had invited a group of us from our morning Bible study home for luncheon. As we spiraled up through the beautiful environs toward her mountaintop home, a single, majestic doe stepped out from between two drives and sauntered across the road.PhotobucketGerry and her dh are such amazingly artistic landscapers, they have created the most serene garden waterfall in their yard surrounded by stately oaks, and festooned all about with river rocks, ferns and all manner of water plants. The pool is loaded with huge red, orange, and white carp. I bet I'd see some frogs lurking close by, but what an amazing spot to just relax and commune with God as you listen to the water trinkling over the artfully placed rocks. So tranquil and restorative!Photobucket
Gerry's wonderul dh has just recently finished enclosing his deck -a truly fabulous outdoor room now sits right outside their kitchen replete with gorgeous white railings, sumptuous carpeting, a tropically designed ceiling fan, skylights, and her lovely new cushions for her dining set! So inviting and comfy, it was really then that I missed my camera the most!Photobucket. Luncheon included taco salad, fresh fruit, deviled eggs, and an amazing pina colada cake!-(to die for, by the way!)Photobucket. Sorry! No cake here, but I did get a slice to bring home to hubby!!!But the best part of all was just sitting out there in that heavenly atmosphere, listening to the myriad bird song, sipping pink lemonade and just sharing in the lives all the old and new friends I met with today! Christian friends are the BEST!Photobucket
I just had to offer the recipe for this delicious cake- a recipe with no spirits, just delicious flavor.. and so easy!

12 oz. pina colada mix

1 lg. Cool Whip
