Sunday Morning Notes Bride of Christ and Renewing of the Mind

Seeing into the Kingdom with a renewed mind through the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit
So much of scripture is written to those who have eyes to see, and ears to hear. What does it mean to "see" in God's kingdom? It all has to do with renewing of the mind and obedience to God's word!

It is time that the church stepped out in faith to take Christ’s authority to the world. Moreover, As Christ’s bride all that the Father has is ours through Christ, His richest treasure house of resources.
When we declare the gospel we are inviting people to come to the king to be saved- by our silence we are keeping them from eternal life, The key to the kingdom cost a king’s ransom in the blood of Christ. It is costly to use the key, assuredly- through our denial of self and our servanthood to the living God, yet how much more costly to bury that key under a basket- for the price is felt throughout eternity.
We must not limit God- Ephesians 3:20 to him who is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine according to His power that is at working us- to him be glory in the church, and in Christ Jesus through all generations for ever and ever.
That is for Now- not just for Jesus’ time or some future millennium, but also for the present, now!
God put the Holy Spirit in this bride so that His work in and through her would be effectual. His desire is to release even more power through her than ever she can imagine or to ask for. Her faith needs to grow exponentially. Our expectations need to be on a much grander scale. We need to take God out of the small finite box we have placed Him in.
We need to remember that the one, who called fearful Gideon Valiant warrior, and unstable Peter, His Rock, has called us His Bride!
I believe God is calling the bride to daily repentance-for a true renewal of the mind. Repentance is more that simply being sorry for sin, or even turning from our sin to follow God.
However, it encompasses actually changing our way of thinking. - focusing on Jesus' ministry- the kingdom. John 3:3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Through mind renewal we see the kingdom of God more clearly.
Too often the bride repents just enough to be forgiven but doesn’t go that extra mile or mind renewal- seeing God’s kingdom.
To do that one must completely surrender the heart- therein lies the concept of the bride’s unity with the bridegroom. For it is the hidden sins of the mind that are the Achilles heel of the church. This impurity has denied the bride her boldness and faith to do the will of God.
The Father desires the presence of His kingdom to completely saturate our consciousness. It is then we can easily deny and thwart the enemy’s dominion in the earth. It is then in unity with as we are one in Christ, we become co-laborers with Him subduing the earth and defeated Satan. We act through prayer and faith to prove the kingdom reality is on the earth just as it is in heaven- this is the core of the great commission.
With our renewed minds the bride is able to “see” suffering and loss” in this world with God’s perspective. She becomes aware that God’s kingdom is where there is no suffering and loss, therefore she can pray ’Father, you commanded us to pray for things here to be as they a re in heaven and I know there being no loss and suffering in heaven, so there shouldn’t be any here on earth. So in the name of Jesus I pray an eradication of this affliction and a restoration of the body!”
What is this invisible realm that the bridegroom expects us to be able to “see?” When we were born again we were enabled to see it with our regenerated heart- it is our faith that sees. The kingdom comes into focus and His resources and all His benefits are accessible through faith.
Jesus expects His bride to see clearly as He gave her specific directions to see- Seek ye first the kingdom of God … Set your mind on things above, not on things of this world
Then you begin to see more clearly. With the Holy Spirit as out tutor, we learn more and more about seeing into the kingdom. When we worship in spirit and truth we are following the Holy Spirit’s lead- we know that God’s presence inhabits our worship and this presence brings revelation.
The presence of God affects our seeing and our hearing. It is through worship that we experience our ability to see with our heart! Faith is born of the spirit in the hearts of men. Faith is much more superior than intellect. We don’t believe God with our minds, but we believe what we know in our heart to be true.
In Ephesians 1:19 Paul prays for the bride saying, I pray the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints and his incomparable great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated Him at the right hand of the heavenly realm far above all rule and authority, power and dominion and every title that can be given not only in this present age, but also in the one to come! And this is our bridegroom!

The Holy Spirit adorns the bride for the great day of the Lord’s coming through the process of transformation. We can turn to Romans 12 for a clear description of the prepared bride.
The Renewed Mind and Transformed Life
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will Romans 12: 2
By a renewing of our minds..we are then able to conform to God’s likeness and know His perfect will for our lives. This means we must first of all admit that we fall far short of God’s expectation of us and therefore surrender our wills to Him.
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.[a] Do not be conceited. Romans 12:16
Our attitude should show the following evidences:
Seek the mind of Christ
Set our minds on things above –
Where there is not unity, someone is not setting their mind on Christ and things above!
A renewed mind makes a concerted effort not
to be snobbish or ambitious,
willing to be associated with humble tasks and lowly people
How to do this
By taking heed to what we learn from:
The attitude of David - Psa 131:1-2
my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me.
The warning to Jeremiah - Jer 45:5
Should you then seek great things for yourself? Seek them not.
The teaching of Jesus - Lk 22: 27
who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.
By noting what we learn from:
The example of Jesus - Ph 2:5-8
Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross
The teaching of James - Ja 2:11My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don't show favoritism. …5Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?
A renewed mind possesses
Similar warnings are found elsewhere:
Given by Solomon - Pro 3:7; 26:12
Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil
Lamented by Isaiah - Isa 5:21
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight
Cautioned by Paul - 1 Co 3:18
Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a "fool" so that he may become wise
A renewed mind will maintain a strong sense of humility, an
awareness that one has much to learn from God and others
Therefore life transformation begins with authenticity- being real. 2 Cor 3:18 and we who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory are being transformed into His likeness with ever increasing glory which comes from the Lord who is the spirit. As we are with Christ we are becoming more like Him in His power.
I can renew my mind as His bride daily by
1. Choosing to believe that God loves me
2. Choosing to believe that God has a plan for my life
3. Asking Him to be in charge of my day
4. Asking Him to guide my thoughts, decisions, and actions
5. Spend quality time in His presence- through worship and prayer
6. Expect His presence daily
7. Ask Him for divine appointments and exploits
