Frosty Morning Tea

With a  huge dip in the   temperature and snow on the way,   this morning was  crying out  for a  Frosty Morning  Tea  Breakfast for two.
Even though  the  setting   reflected an icy morn,   with   frosty  hoary,   crystals  and   snowy fluffs   sprinkled  all about,   the  ancient  radiator  in the dining room   proved
trustworthy!
Lady Earl Grey in her   lovely   blue wrapping   and her  highly  delicate   flavor  suited the occasion to a "TEA"!
TwiningsLadyGrey low.jpg
Served in my  latest addition,   my   Wedgewood, Countryside   china cups,,   it  was  absolutely brill!
Delicious   homemade  cranberry   oatmeal topped with  whipped cream  is now   going to become a staple in our home....
I   was inspired  to  create this  dainty  tasties   from my latest   Tea Time magazine...
The ones in the magazine  were  not  toasted,
however,  for  our   warm-us-up   breakfast,   toasting   was  essential!
These   were served up  with  alternating   egg salad  and   hot buttered strawberry jam.
Fueled for the day, now   no telling  what  mischief we may achieve!!!

"Talk and tea is his specialty," said Giles. "He has Come along inside... We'll see if tea and buns   (toast) can make the world a better place."

Rainy Morning Tea

Photobucket
Bernideen's Tea Time is a lovely site for  getting your  inspiration for  all things tea!  Today she is hosting    Friends Sharing Tea .....a  delightful  theme ...  and this morning  is none better  than to  share a rainy morning  tea breakfast!
When Lynn got up this morning, he  said it was a waffle morning...   but I was thinking all along  we needed more of a gentile  wake, me up....  thus our Waffle Tea idea was birthed...
Now I am not complaining about the weather... I actually love a rainy  spring day  especially when wildfires have been raging out of control in our state...
and the cool morning air  is fresh    as the pollen is  being  washed away....  but  no reason to be drear inside just because it is dark and drear without!
Photobucket

A base tea cloth  sets a fanciful tone, the bright sunny  mats   capture and hold a warmth that  fills  the  soul...  the aromatic  English Breakfast Tea    draws us right to the table!
Photobucket
THis morning  we are dining on  our Country  Roses  from  Royal Albert...  both the   specialty plates and the  specialty cups....
Photobucket
which I havent seen since I purchased 4 of them   a few years ago.....I need to replace a cup,,, if anyone  knows where they can now be purchased!!!!!
Photobucket
NO reason why a delightsome tea party can't be shared  just between us two!
Photobucket
The George Foreman Grill  makes  huge waffles,  so  once I  quartered them,  they piled up hugely on the plate!...
Photobucket
Delicious  drizzled with pure maple syrup!
Photobucket
along with a side of crispy bacon.....  a leisurely, delectable rainy morning  tea!

Today I am joining  Martha's Favorites as well,    on Teacup  Tuesday.

Did We Ever do Tea Today!

Photobucket
Jan, over at Jan and Tom's Place had this wonderful idea to host a tea party today, which just happened to be my birthday. Of course, if you know me, I cannot turn down an opportunity to party with tea!! Finally, I have gotten around to being able to share my tea with you all.

What an amazing day! I was up bright and early assembling and thank goodness because it took all of the 4 hours I set aside and couldn't have made it without Amanda! The garden party was moved into the house late yesterday when the humidity reached record highs and I just wanted the day to be comfortable and lovely. So decorating the house with flowers was my first priority!PhotobucketOf course, I wanted to bring the hydrangea bush inside!
Photobucket I would have loved some wisteria, but if not that I must have lilac!
Photobucket
The tablescape was my next really big mission. To create a garden attitude:Photobucket PhotobucketPhotobucketI was really pleased with my Ganache and how it turned out! It was so easy, and I just never have done cakes from scratch but this one was fantastic!PhotobucketI got up early this morning to get the lemon squares done, but Amanda had picked gallons of blueberries over the weekend and so she made the most delectable blueberry scones with lemon glase'.PhotobucketThe rest of the morning was spent assembling:tea savories,PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
And then my guests started to arrive! First my Aunt Virginia and Mother came along with Amanda's Mother in law, Jan. Here mom is pointing out to Jan the importance of crooking your little finger when you hold your tea cup!PhotobucketPhotobucketKitty, Dottie, and Gerri rounded out the guest list. PhotobucketEven with eyes closed, I knew this event was going to be a success. One can just tell. When there is tea, it just can't lose!Photobucket Of course, I was almost too excited for tea, and my beverage of choice today was pink lemonade.PhotobucketDuring our repast we shared about our "bliss'_what makes us truly happy and defines us as individuals blessed of God!
PhotobucketAmanda shared about her bliss of finally finishing college and preparing to move on into married life together, probably in Boston. Mother and Jan shared about how blessed they are in family, children and blessings of the Lord. Each and everyone shared about the wonderful gifts that God had bestowed on them one way or another.PhotobucketPhotobucketTea parties are like that though, aren't they? They bring out the best in everyone and everything! I can think of no better way to celebrate my 58th birthday spent blissfully with precious family and wonderful friends!

Lovely Monday

I have such a blessed life. I really do! My husband is wonderful- so helpful and loving. My Daughter and Son-in-law are utterly amazing- talented, good looking, God loving Christians, both my parents are living and doing well now. My home is full of peace and love, and the good Lord provides for all my needs! I am so thankful. I have wonderful friends who really honor me in such amazing ways. So thoughtful and considerate, and I am encouraged every step of the way.
This morning I got to have a splendid visit by my Mother and cousin, Jane, whom I'm really just now getting to know, even though we have lived in the same city for years, sad to say, but we are making up for lost time now and I am so happy to count her as dear friend. Photobucket
Then this afternoon, I have been busy preparing goodies for tomorrow's tea!
The Chocolate cake is cooling!Photobucket. I never made one from scratch before.Photobucket The ganache is next on my list. The asparagus marinade is in the fridge!Photobucket The sandwich spreads are finished, and I've gotten all the ingredients ready for the lime salad. Alas, the madeleine pan has not turned up so it will be lemon squares in their place. I like those better anyway!

Looks like a tea Party!

It's beginning to look a lot like a tea party at my house! What's this? Looks like a few guests have already arrived!Photobucket My party is called Blissful Garden Party, and how apropriate to have a pair of love birds fly in to join us. Oh, but, what have we here?
Photobucket
Indeed, tis not the March Hare, but a handsome bunny seems interested in the planning going on! And who is that peeping over there? PhotobucketI didn't realize bunnies were so interested in tea parties, but I suppose they got wind of the delicious finger sandwiches that were being planned. It looks like everything is coming together for a lovely tea party that Jan over at Jan and Tom's has suggested for July 8th! Have you gotten your party together yet?PhotobucketThe guest list is complete and the invites ready to deliver.Photobucket
