Saturday Critters

These first gorgeous days of spring have brought many  wonderful critters to my house!!!This morning I'm  sharing with Eileen's Saturday Critters party.  Now we  are happy to    declare that we have many return visitors everyday...  One of the most friendly visitors is this  handsome redhead woodpecker and his  mate,, but she has been less frequent!

The Chickadee  stops in several times a day!

The majestic cardinal still  comes and watches over his dear love as she approaches the feeders each time!

The Carolina wren  is an early riser and  visits everyday!!
We are both thrilled to host  a family of bluebirds

And this week we have  some new favorites..
Firstly, my mourning doves have taken up residence nearby and oh, how we love their morning songs!

Another  songbird I  absolutely adore is the white throated sparrow!!!!.We had  a couple foraging this week and  their air has been filled with their song!

Easily recognized by their yellow bars across the head and white throat!  And their songs are  right outside the window these days
A couple other new friends  who visited  just yesterday were this pair of field sparrows..They rested there for quite a while .. maybe they were just passing through!
and lastly,  last evening  I looked out at this handsome pair of cowbirds.. Their  iridescent  green, teal, black backs   and  bronze heads gave them away right away!

The color in the sun was quite dazzling  not captured on film!
Of course, no post would be complete without our  non-  feathered "friends"...
This little scamp is so  ingenious  ..  slinkies, nor  hot peppered  greased poles deter him!

1. What's a word that describes your life? A word you wish described your life?
Right now since    my health issue  of late last year,  I  can only be called laid back.  I wish I was more vibrant in my  desires to  do new things or anything sometimes!

2. Back in my day we were hard workers mainly because of the lack of labor saving devices.

3. When it comes to takeout are you more likely to opt for Italian, Mexican, or Chinese food? Does a typical week at your house include takeout?
We actually have  left over Chinese in our fridge  that we will enjoy for lunch today!  Definitely, Chinese all the way!

4. Think about the people you most respect. What is it about them that earned your respect? The people I respect the most are characterized by love,  willingness to serve,  walking by the Spirit,  and  shining the Light of God.

5. What's something your friends might see and say is 'so you'?
I love  beauty.. I  share the  gorgeous  flowers,  uplifting  quotes,  tea parties, etc. you see on face book  and  people have commented  "that is so you!"
Image may contain: people sitting, flower, plant, table, drink, coffee cup, indoor and outdoor

I  am thinking  that I hope to  crawl out of this funk I'm in and  living in beauty.. perhaps  the true spring  without  the threat of snow will  rejuvenate me!

6.  Insert your own random thought here.
Last night we attended a new church... because they were holding a revival  by a beloved pastor  who used to be invited to our  present church  by a previous pastor.. It was so sweet to   hear  Pastor Rick..  Now  he is vibrant and dynamic!!

Saturday Critters

This morning I'm  sharing with Eileen's Saturday Critters party.  Well, this is the first weekend of spring and  we are in a winter storm warning with  several inches of snow  predicted.  Here's hoping  winter will loose it grip on  our area!  I am so glad I started  really paying attention to the birds this year.  At this time I have  several pairs who regularly visit our feeders and  they a re beginning to feel like family!  I have a pair of woodpeckers who are daily visitors...

I absolutely love my pair of mourning doves
I especially love their morning  cooing!!!!
A Purple finch family   stops in daily..  a couple of adults, as well as, some  youngsters
There are at least two Carolina wrens.

This cardinal pair is so fun to watch... Sir cardinal always swoops  in all his majesty and  all the pesky house sparrows  dissipate  so, then,  Mrs. cardinal can come in undisturbed!!
I  have seen several handsome Eastern Bluebirds...

and some youngsters  who are more happy foraging under the feeders!

Finally, this one found the suet  and  took up residence there yesterday!

This morning we were so pleased to host this handsome  fellow..
I was so sorry to disturb him  for I knew he'd  hie away
but I had to  be off to prayer group... But  he did  stay for  some time and I hope he will  stop back by!!!

Farewell

After  17 years of   blogging  I am  pretty sad to  just fade  out  with  hardly  anyone showing any   farewell,  concern  about my  surger...
