Stolen from "How Far Will You Go?"

1.    What have you been the most ignorant about in your life?  At my

age it is difficult to think back so far...  I was  rather    raised up to be quite savvy

about many things..  I asked my husband and he said  anything related to taxes!

2.    What in the world would you most like to see protected? Our children

..  They seem to be very low on the totem poles  these days!

3.    How do you waste  the biggest chunk of time each day or week?Doing

what I enjoy.  I get  what I need to get down  done  then  watch  some tv,

do some art,  read ,  and especially  spend time with the Lord!!!

4.    Who is the scariest person you've ever known? Lately, it would

have to be   the  democrats   in our government.

5.    What was  the job you enjoyed the least?Probably  babysitting the

spoiled three year old  lad next door.  I kept him after school until his

mommy  got home!  I was  barely paid a thing   for  quite a headache

every day!

6.    What thing about your family are you the most proud of?We raised

a wonderfully brilliant adopted daughter   to do well, and place her love

for  the Lord  in first place..  and she is doing the same  with her  girls!

7.    What kind of power do you want most?I suppose it would be the

power to  affect positive change through prayer!

8.    What's the best piece of advice you ever received?  Chew twice as

long on half as much,  from  my dear  grand pa!

9.    What's the  thing you  know the most about?   I would say   probably

the various ways I have served in the church.   Not by my own knowledge

and expertise,  but by the power of the power within me. This would included

 many various  types of service.

10.    When were you most moved by a ceremony?I would have to say

the ceremony  of  my own wedding to Lynn.   I suppose due to the fact that

my life was changing in such a huge manner.. not only    in living with him.

but  moving to a foreign country to live with him and  what a major shift in

my life  I was undertaking..

11.    What is the best gift you ever gave to someone?I would have to say

Sunday Stealing

 Sunday Stealing hosted by

Bev Sykes.

1. What is a big dream you have for the future?
I think I would  say I hope that the doomsday sayers are completely  wrong about their estimations of this coming year, and that Lynn and I will be able to spend some quality time with our family ( Amanda’s family). I dream that we could meet up at Cherry Grove beach north of Myrtle Beach and all stay in a fabulous condo by the ocean. The last time we did this was over Thanksgiving when the girls were more like toddlers.
2. What are your favorite hobbies?
I am happy to say that my interests haven’t failed me, except perhaps recreational reading.. but I do still love to decorate our home seasonally, Many times, this involves entertaining , for example tea parties,  I enjoy painting, and drawing,  nature journalling, bird watching. I love flower arranging.  I buy fresh flowers whenever I see bargain prices at the market.
3. If you could change the world, what would you do?
If I had a magic wand , I think I would start  by ridding the world of corruption , unfortunately, I fear this is a sign of the end times.
4. What places have you traveled to?  What was your favorite?
Unfortunately I have traveled very little here in the States.  I have traveled to every state  from Alabama north and east from Vermont east to Maine. The farthest west is Indiana. I particularly love my home state of Virginia and the beauty of the NE states.  But anymore I do not enjoy the means of arriving at distant states.  Treacherous!
I have lived in Germany, so very much loved the Netherlands. Absolutely gorgeous!  My feet walked the airport at Heathrow for about 30 minutes. I would love to tour the countryside of England. But I have toured all over Scotland, and Ireland.  Both countries are absolutely magical!
5. What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
I try not to eat weird stuff.  I suppose it was the black sausage we had in Ireland.

6. What are your favorite places to eat?
I would have to say good Chinese restaurants. I like Szechuan an Yuchaing styles best.

7. What kind of music do you like?  Talk about a favorite artist or songs.

As a young lady of course I loved the music of the 60’s and 70’s to this day. But being a pianist as a teen, I loved  classical, both to play and listen to.  My album collection is extensive,  all tucked away in the closet.oh, well. As an adult I have a love of Christian music.  I love Selah, in particular. But one of my very favorites is this by Andrew Peterson.

I love scotch-Irish trad music. I especially love Dougie Maclean, from Scotland. We travelled to Asheville, NC to hear him perform!
One of his most famous songs.
I,also, like I guess it is still called New Age music.  I loved this  beautifully relaxing  genre, but I certainly did not go transcendental with it.  One composer I love is Danny Gibson.

8. What was the last book you read?
It has been a while, but it was the James Herriot series of books.
9. If you could meet a character from a book, who would it be?
I would actually love to meet James Herriot and discuss his life in Yorkshire Dales.

10. Do you prefer books or movies?  Why?
I suppose it depends on the book. I read the .The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society book when it came out and absolutely loved it.. written as a series of letters. I was so excited when the film came out but I found it very lackluster.. just not the same excitement that I felt reading the book.

11. What is something you used to be scared of, but aren’t any more?
.I used to be extremely scared of speaking out in a group setting, or make a presentation. Now I lead prayer groups and have spoken to church congregations .. thankfully,I am able to do this now no problem at all.
12. What is something you were never afraid of, but are now?
.As my balance seems to be getting worse, I am becoming fearful of falling. I tripped over the large threshold at our back door and fell in the stone floor of our sunroom.  That terrified me! Praise God, All was well, but I am much more cautious.  I begin a round of physical therapy this week actually.

13. What item is your most cherished possession?  Why?
I used to treasure our furnishings and household items, but lately in a means of downsizing I am decluttering stuff without really considering it’s worth. Last summer I gave away our gorgeous piano  I bought brand new  after we got married. My eyesight was failing me to the point playing was a bit of an issue, So I gave it away to a young family who had children who wanted to take lessons.
I suppose the last thing I would consider giving away would be the wonderful oil painting my art teacher gave me that she had been painting .. her last piece before she passed!  It hangs in our living room. It is very precious to me! Hopefully, Amanda will want it!

14. What awards or contests have you won?
When I retired I remembered my last class told me that I needed to find a way to keep writing.  I enjoyed it so much. So I started participating in an online creative writing project where we were given prompts to write about.  I got some high marks and .I guessed you’d call scores on several of my entries. ,  then .I started blogging in 2008, and that fulfilled my writing leanings.

15. Do you like working jigsaw puzzles?
Yes, especially the online quicky ones.  I do not like having puzzles spread out on the dining table.. it was fun when Amanda was here growing up, but no longer.
