Well, we certainly are enjoying a change in our weather this week.. I can't remember how long it has been since it was this cold. Last weekend we were visited by the Winter storm, Blair, which left behind her about 2 inches of ice and a covering of snow! The miserable looking deer are surely having a difficult time finding anything to nibble. I haven't considering feeding them though, as I really do not like them coming around eating everything in sight during the growing season! We have started feeding the birds again. With that first flake I was after Hubs to get out the feeders.. He is totally against feeding them during the summer and fall, as there is plenty of forage around our yard.. But I definitely have my way come winter and , especially during snowy weather.. I love watching the birds and journalling about them and their habits!
Not the greatest photo through the screen of our back door! Wow, I just noticed the afternoon sun must have shown onto our neighbor's yard.. Their snow has melted. Poor Hubs worked on our driveway for hours yesterday and today trying to break through the solid ice at the crown of the drive.. That area at the very top of the entrance and down the back side to the street.. He must get out tomorrow to go to the eye doctor! I wish I could go, but my knee is terrible .. I am awaiting my knee surgery and am pretty scared of getting out in the snow... and ice! I have not climbed our brick steps up to the walk to the driveway since my knee started troubling me. Those are not easy steps.. They are rather steep.. So I climb, instead, the steady incline, or hill, up by the steps to the driveway, Well, when it is covered with frozen snow I just stay home.. I had to cancel 2 doctors appointments myself today!
This certainly doesn't look like much , but as it is frozen to the grass, I will not venture out into it. Not at my age or condition! And another several inches are due in a day or two. I hope to get out to the grocer before the next storm!
