Thankful Thursday

Knit By God's Hand: Thankful Thursday
Hosted by Rebecca Jo  here!
* Here in the Atlantic states  we are getting  pummeled with  hard rain.. and
have been since Tuesday.

We have had  about 6 inches with  3 more to come today... Praise the lord, we have only had  a little bit of water in our basement..  All of the precautionary things we have done over the years has really helped to  keep  water at bay.   Prayers  for  those in the wake of  this storm, especially in Michigan  where the dam   broke...  So much  suffering in our world these days!

*  I am so happy to finally    be  essentially back to normal  with my    health issues..   I'd reported  over the  length of  the quarantine, I had  had one  strange  thing after another..  lastly I had  a  terrible episode of gout..  Hurray, it is gone!!!

*  I love the facetime  we get to share with our girls! Yesterday  was  great..  It seemed  they had grown  so much!   Yesterday was    painting day..  Our daughter  inspired    the girls to    work on their  own  paintings  to depict their  gorgeous, sunny day!

Our oldeset   worked on hers

And our preschooler  had one to share, too!

These  girls bless us so much!!!

*  I really do not know what  we'd do  during this quarantine time without  technology to    be able to "visit' with our friends  and family!
We are so thankful for   our pastor's  diligence to   keep  us all informed and encouraged during this  time!
We  can  watch  our services online,  both men's and women's Sunday School class  meets  weekly  on zoom.  Our  larger group church meetings,  also,  for  teaching and prayer.    My prayer  group last week met in a phone conference call to pray. Tomorrow my  gal pals  prayer group will zoom away.. goodness, without these    capabilities,  I would  be  so  sad  and  forlorn during this time!  Thank you , Lord,  for providing a way!

Thankful Thursday

Knit By God's Hand: Thankful Thursday
Hosted by Rebecca Jo  here!

Last time I completed my  1000 gift count down so  I will  leave  it at that and  just list my blessings    from now on!

  • This week I am so delighted to finally  be able to see a    great recovery in my future...  I have been under  I believe a spiritual attack... the enemy has thrown just about everything at me  during this covid 19 lockdown... a time I had  desired to commit to the Lord,  but  I was hit with one  health issue after another... shingles, sinus infection, stomach infection    with  all of its travails, extreme dehydration,   resulting in almost 3 weeks of  horrible gout.  I am so pleased to say, I am feeling great and can actually wear a flip flop today! I  am aiming for a real shoe by  next week when  our church opens for phase 1.
  • Mother's Day  last Sunday was such a wonderful  turning point... I  had bemoaning the fact that  there was no sign of any Mother's Day flowers  in my future...It is hard enough to  only be able to enjoy my  daughter and grands  virtually,  but to  be denied my Mother's Day joy of  planting  lovely flowers around the yard  was  over the top for me...but even the weather was   against us...  cold,  windy,  frosty  nights  were quite prohibitive!  Then  finally  by Tuesday Lynn had been able to slip  away to the nursery and come home  and plant  some flowers...  even though I wasn't able to partake in the   shopping and selection  I am thrilled with the love Hubs put into  doing this for me!!!

  • This  time of isolation and  separtion has been  great   in some regards.  My daughter's family has  really  enjoyed   the benefits of both parents being home... Praise the Lord,  the dad  was able to do all of his work at home  and  still be there to help out with the girls as  needed.  There has been  more  home baking,    new  recipes discovered,   but  most importantly  great family time together in the afternoons!

We are into  week 4 of  quarantine for the coronavirus...  This will be the last time I will call the virus by this name..  it  certainly is not regal in any shape or form.. it doesnt deserve any  praise or reverence  so why  it  is named  after something regal  is beyond me.. I  actually believe it to be  more from the pit of hell so I  will not call it  c-----  again.  I will  only call it the virus.   It has  disrupted  the lives of the nation..   I still wonder so much about it..  and as time goes on I tend to think it is more  politically  motivated than  by health concerns..  for now  we've  moved as a notion beyond  what the virus might  do healthwise..  and must  be very concerned about  it putting us into a depression  which would more than cripple  our nation..where many more lives will be  cast into suffering  and  ill will!  So  I pray that  wisdom and common sense prevails.. I will pray against fearmongering and deception! At the same time I am thankful for many things.
  • I am so thankful for Zoom which allows  our family to meet with our small church body in prayer,   teachings, encouragement, and fellowship.
  • I am thankful for the move of God to lead us out of the very large church we were members of last year.  The Spirit  just didnt seem to be  keeping us  there any longer and suddenly  we were  attending  where we are now!  Only about 50  members  yet we thrive there  along with those precious Christians  than ever  before! And this is  so perfect for  small meetings held online.. We are very thankful to be were we are now for times like these!  And God is using our gifts here  to bless others more than ever before! Thank you, Lord!
  • What would we do without  the internet  to be able to visit with our children and grands.... whether shared instant photos  about each others days, or  chat times on Skype..
silly times

Frozen dress up parties
Learning times

  • I am  so  pleased that Hubs  is able to  take care of the short trips out to get our supplies during this time.. He is super careful about  cleaning    the products he brings back from the shopping  trips...
  • Our pastor has  been amazing during these weeks..  What with his extra measures to    put our  services on line,  his  biweekly zoom meetings and  several encouragement videos online... he is  just awesome!

981.  Well, I am beginning week 4 of shingles, a very painful and miserable condition.. I thank you, Lord, for bringing me to and through this.  It has been a time of suffering and great set back. And I confess .i have negotiated the waters of depression, But, I understand you in new ways because of my low position and suffering.  And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

1 Peter 5:10 | NIV.  My help, comfort, and hope is ALL from you, Lord!

982.  I am thankful that God empowered me to be able to host my prayer group here today. Even though we had torrential storms, we still had 4 of us in concerted prayer over our nation, the world and our locality. It was a great time before the Lord!

983. I am thankful for an end to the impeachment that I do agree was an unfair political ploy that divided the country and spent billions  of taxpayers money for NOTHING,

984.  I am thankful for the delightful thinking of you card I received yesterday from my Sunday School class, as well, as one from my dear friend, Dot! So much encouragement expressed,I am truly blessed!

985.I thank you , Lord, for the thunder we had today, and that the rains have stopped, I love thunder and haven’t heard it in a few years.  I had missed it, I used to love to lay on my bed as a youngster and enjoy the thunder on summer afternoons. We really haven’t had any in some time.  I pray no one is dealing with flood issues today.

923.  I am  thankful  for the cooling rains we have had this week..  and my rose garden  is  enjoying them, as well.

924.I am thankful for the positive turn  I  am enjoying in my life these days..  One never knows  how  their  daily life can  alter  from one month to another..  I cannot  actually  say  much about it yet,  but  the changes I am experiencing  are  bringing me joy,  spiritual challenge, and  peace!  Thank you, Lord,  for leading us through this season!

925. I am thankful  for the marvelous music God has brought into my life...  I  first heard  the  glorious  praise music at a prayer meeting in a lady's home and I was completely enraptured by it.  Once I found out the pianist' name I promptly  ordered  3  of his Cd's. You  can hear  Terry Macalmon  below.

926. I am   so thankful  for  my  great friends...  we have such a good time together,  and  amazingly, we are all going through  the above changes together  which  is a blessing..  Last night we  met for pizza and  shared  how we were all faring through   and  what  our expectations were...

927. I am really  thankful as well,  that this cold and cough that I have been dealing with over the last 3 weeks  is finally  subsiding...I  can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!

911.I am so thankful  for the Lord's leading me...  I now know that I have a sinus infection  and needed an antibiotic,,  so  I was allowed to get a UTI so I would go to the doctor to get an antibiotic!  God is sooooooooooooo good to me!!!

912. I am thankful for the continued  small  rain  events we have had this week...  I wouldn't mind  weather like this all summer... It keeps the air  more temperate and  waters the flowers, too!

913.  Mmm,mmm I am thankful for the delicious cup of coffee  Hubs just put down in front of me..  The aroma  is tantalizing and the  robust taste makes my mouth sing!!!

914.  Another way that  the Lord led me this week  is  last week  I had signed up  to go to  a  luncheon at church today, and for some reason  on Sunday I  had the feeling or idea, whatever you want to call it, that I simply  didn't  know if I really wanted to go to this or not...SO I  quickly removed my name from the list.. thankfully, just in time  before they had  ordered the food for the luncheon.. If I hadn't  cancelled  on Monday morning,   I would be getting dressed right now  to go  and be there by 11:00.  After this  rocky  week  with  sinus infection and UTI  I am thrilled to be sitting here drinking my coffee in my  jams counting my blessings  and  just letting the day go!!!
915.  I am  thankful  for my dear Hubs who I just realized is  frying up some  sausage for our breakfast!!I am  the most fortunate person I know!!!

906.  God is so good...  I am thankful   for the change in the weather,,  we had  several days of refreshing and easy rainfall...  no flooding  or  seeping...even though we did get several inches in a few days..Thank you,  Father.
Hubs got to install the weather measuring  apparatus on the roof of the garage   this week!

907. Thank you, Lord, for the opportunity to  visit  Crystal Spring several times already this month,  a delightful fellowship of believers  who are so welcoming, and   the  pastor is  so down to earth and friendly, even though he is, also, greatly dynamic  Doctor of Divinity. He has a real servants heart. I am beginning to feel rather at home there!

908.  Thank you,Father,  for  healing my inner eye  so well that I truly believe that when I do to the surgeon tomorrow for my biopsy, he will say,  there is nothing to  bi-op! I have certainly had many, many prayers for healing, and  Hubs, nor I, see anything there any more...!

909.  Today was an amazing day  of prayer with our SOS group.  We had a full house and  everyone had such a precious time together, no one wanted to leave... thank you , that Hubs  was able to  take part even though  this afternoon his cold has  manifest and he is feeling terrible...  Have mercy on him, Lord..  May this    cold be short lived and  may he be  back to himself  very soon!!

910. Father, thank you that when I called the allergy/ sinus doctor this morning  he had an appointment for me early next week.. May this  sinus problem  respond to the Zyrtec and become a non issue  when I see him about  starting up my allergy shots again now that I am off a beta blocker.
