December 10~Wrapping Paper

December 10~Wrapping Paper
Today was a special day to  celebrate  wrappings....  except it was definitely a gift bag kind of day...
First of all,   my prayer  sistas and  BFF's    were celebrating  one of our  dear  friend Dottie's  birthday.
This   time her first choice for  the venue was   the tea room!
We always get our favorite...  the   awesome   cranberry chicken salad. ..  fresh baked bread with balsamic dipping sauce!
Then we stopped in at Dottie's for  chocolate cake   where  we then exchanged Christmas gifts... again in gift bags....   but   festive  tissue  paper   was  flying  everywhere!!!

When I got home  I  spilled it all out on the table to show hubby...  a lovely bag filled to the brim  with   delicious treats of every kind..
 sweet and savory!
An engraved  leather bound copy of  Jesus Calling....
A  fabulous  cd...  that I am listening to as I type...     cute  socks....  I love  wrapping paper and gift bags.....  they always  bring the  most delightful    surprises!

December 9~ Something I am Reading

December 9~  Something I am Reading
Set Apart for God - By: Derek Prince

Here is the Publisher's desription....

"Holiness is a priceless gift from God that most people never unwrap. What they miss! Why does just hearing the word holiness make many of us uncomfortable?-We think holiness means restrictive rules and regulations.-We believe it is an outdated concept that doesn't fit in today's world.-We fear we could never live up to what holiness requires. The more we think of holiness in terms of what we must not do, the more control these activities seem to have over us. The beautiful secret revealed to us through Christ is that true holiness means peace, freedom, and strength as we live according to the Spirit and shed the weights that hold us back, so that we can receive all the blessings God wants for us.In his trademark clear and compassionate approach, best-selling author Derek Prince reveals the beauty and power of holiness. He explains that as we seek holiness, we will understand how deeply our holy God loves us and be continually drawn closer to Him.Join Derek for an adventure into holiness as you discover? How God predestined you to be holy. What holiness is and what it is not.God's provisions to bring you into His holiness. How to apply God's promises and "participate" in His divine nature. How to become what God created you to be.The practical outworking of holiness in your life. How holiness enables you to fulfill your calling from God."Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness."

I love Derek Prince... a very prolific author of the most indepth discourse on Biblical topics...
Here is the Publisher's bio..
"Internationally recognized as a Bible scholar and spiritual patriarch, Derek Prince (1915-2003) was educated as a scholar of classical languages at Eton College and Cambridge University in England, and later at Hebrew University in Israel. While serving with the British army in World War II, he began to study the Bible as a philosophical work and, as a result, experienced a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ. Derek Prince taught and ministered on six continents for more than sixty years, imparting God's revealed truth, praying for the sick and afflicted, and sharing his prophetic insights into world events in the light of Scripture. He wrote over fifty books, which have been translated in over sixty languages and distributed worldwide. He pioneered teaching on such groundbreaking themes as generational curses, the biblical significance of Israel, and demonology. Derek Prince Ministries, with its international headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, carries on the good work that God began in and through him by distributing his teachings and by training missionaries, church leaders, and congregations through its worldwide network of offices.

He is absolutely an author for these times in which we live! "

Highly recommended!

Day 6 ~ Shopping

December  6~Shopping
Each Christmas season     I try to    reorganize my  decorations,,,   get rid of  the old and   frayed... unless theya re   traditional  treasures  passed down through the family... which  I love. And  if I see something I   love  for the new season  I  will  think about getting it...  when I  saw  this  Victorian  couple at Cracker Barrell,  it was love at first sight...  a must have....my daughter says that's fine as long as I get rid of something else...
For   giving  we   really     like to  either give  gift cards or do most of our shopping online..

Capturing December Day 5~Joyous

December 5~ Joyous
We have so much for which to be joyous!
Firstly,     we  rejoice in coming of our Lord, and  that  in Him  we  have our salvation....forgiveness  of our sin,  and  eternal life.

We rejoice in God's gift of family  together
both our   own  physical  family
 photo JUlysky024.jpg photo christmasparty127.jpg
and our spiritual   brothers and  sisters in Christ!

We rejoice that  our children  are    well situated  both   in  her  circumstances,  their family, and  in the Lord!

Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee
God of glory, Lord of love
Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee
Opening to the sun above

Melt the clouds of sin and sadness
Drive the dark of doubt away
Giver of immortal gladness
Fill us with the light of day

Hallelujah we adore You
Hallelujah

My prayer Sista's   traditionally  get together   each   Christmas   to  celebrate    our love and happiness  with each other!   God  put us all together.....   it is so wonderful to find  kindred  spirits  who value the  same Biblical   truths! We particularly  value   the power  of prayer  and the   workings of the Holy Spirit in our lives...  something  we   dont  see   so much in   our   church today!!!So sad!
