Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas from our home to your's!!

Our Christmas started in November when we  went to Boston  to celebrate  with our  children and grands!
We got to help put up their tree!

So nice to see Amanda relaxed after all the hard work of having us there for 2 weeks!!

Being with these special people thrills our hearts!  I know it  takes months if not years off our age... they re so dear and fun to be with!

We got to make a ginger bread house.  that was a first for me!!

So  today has been very low key.. just the two of us!!!

We cooked a small brunch of Italian Egg Bake and a cranberry crumb cake.

I baked the Crumb Cake

Lynn baked the Italian Egg Bake

Our delicious brunch table

I love my centerpiece in my mother's dough bowl!!

Yum, I spy a glass of Homestead Custard!!!  Too Delish!!!!

Lynn is acting a bit coy!!!  What is this..  something I missed in my stocking!!!

Just what I needed!  Thank you, Santa!!!

It was a great    low key  Christmas  with  just the two of us..  And then,  Ding Ding..  it was  Face Time for an hour with our  girls!

Glorious, in excelsiors, Deo!!

A VERY CONTEMPLATIVE CHRISTMAS

I am sitting by the fire  while the ham bakes listenng to carols, enjoying my spice tea!
Hubs has stepped out for one last  stroll through the  market... You never know what he'll bring home!
The house is quite, except for the  heavy rain pattering  down outside  and string music from our new player!
I am enjoying the lights of the season..  reminding me that  Jesus  is the Light of the World and that  we carry that light into the world  demonstrating His love and savior  to others.

Merry Christmas to one and all and  stay safe and well this season!!

Click to enjoy!

Merry Christmas from our Home to Your's

Rooted In Thyme

I'm  joining the   party  at   Rooted in Thyme   to share  about   our Christmas..
On the night before Christmas all was a lit
and  all was   merry  as   Lynn  chanced to sit
   at the table,  bright
finishing the gifts for
one and all!
The morning of Christmas dawned  dark  but cheer
as  I hurried downstairs to   set about  my chores..
I could barely wait until I heard  feet  coming down the
stairs
Our Christmas brunch  menu  was a waiting   the cooks....

Amanda,    our cranberry scone baker ,  hadnt arisen from her sleep...

So I hurriedly  worked on the brandied fruit  so the flavors would have time to steep.

It was  grand  when at last  the children  were up
Time to  get the quiche in the pan
set the table  with    English Crackers and punch
A festive morning in store for our wonderful  bunch!!!

The English crackers revealed crowns for each one

My crown was gold, lovely to behold..
Queen Mother  wore her's the whole day long,
while dad donned his Santa''s cap  to  entertain our throng!
Princess Amanda  played a set of carols as  we sang in our hearts the  tunes of the season
Prince Joshua  reclined in his repose, an article in hand  as his reason..
while  gifts awaited to be opened...
but that is  personal   let's just say  with  delight,,
everyone  was  very  happy that night!!!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas

Today the snows came and the inspiration teamed up with the opportunity to get a lot done around the house. It was marvelous to get the Christmas cards and wrapping completed... thus my dining room table has been reclaimed!

Photobucket
That was the first step... then the decorating could begin in earnest!
Photobucket
Since I'm not using the garland on the mantle, I like it here!

This arrangement inspires me to consider a Christmas Tea this year! HMM!
Last week the mantle looked like this:
Photobucket
But , eh, I wasnt quite happy with that! So, today it looks like this!
Photobucket
I have always loved those snow villages, and my collection isnt quite as great in number, but I do love the pieces I do have and I like them on the mantle this year! I even got to start a bit of something in the sunroom, usually my last room to work on during this season,,, At least, this is a start!
Photobucket
And then evening fell, and the house was aglow! Now that's what I really like!

It is such a good feeling to be this far along... for my goodness, the kids will be here in exeactly one week! Oh, I cant wait!
