Wednesday Hodge Podge

From this Side of the Pond

Hosted by Joyce!

1. Mayday! Mayday!...when was the last time (or a recent time) you literally or figuratively needed to call for help? Elaborate. It has been quite some time ,,,mainly because at my age I am not into that much physical activity.  Things are more cerebral. My outreach these days is in prayer groups. I meet for various prayer groups once a week or twice a week depending on the weeks.  I cannot think of a time when I needed help in recent times,  I did call of a ride to a meeting a while back.  I suppose that counts!

2. May Day...when was the last time you danced? I haven’t danced with my husband in quite some time…let’s just say not since I can remember.   But I dance around the house as a form of exercise ever so often…especially when a great danceable song comes on the radio!. Do you have a lot of baskets? Not really.. I used to as a younger bride.  I loved collecting baskets for this and that, but not so much any more. What's something you keep in a basket?I still have a sewing basket in which I keep all my sewing implements!  What's your favorite purple flower? I love purple irises.

3. What's something you may do this month? We may drive up into the country on a Sunday picnic after church one Sunday.  We spoke about it Sunday with our dearest friends.

4. Do you like eggplant? Not really.  Quick topic changes lol? If you said yes in answer to the eggplant question how do you like yours prepared? Of the following purple foods, which one is your favorite...plums, purple carrots, purple asparagus, eggplant, acai berries, blackberries, purple cauliflower, elderberries, purple potatoes, or passion fruit?

Of this list I prefer purple plums, and blackberries.

5. The calendar turns on Hodgepodge Day...

"Then you have to remember to be thankful; but in May one simply can't help being thankful that they are alive, if for nothing else."-L.M. Montgomery

Tell us one thing you're thankful for today. I am thankful of all the blessings God has bestowed on me, salvation,  husband, family, home, church family, dear friends.

6. Insert your own random thought here. Yes, speaking of doing something in May… our dearest friends and we attend the same church and eat out at various restaurants after church each week. I suggested choosing a Sunday in May to dress a bit more informally and stopping at Chic Fila  for a picnic lunch and drive up onto the Blue Ridge Parkway to a picnic area to eat.My family used to do this each year and I was thinking how lovely it would be.. Perhaps include a few more couples .  I hope we actually will do it  Everyone seemed excited about it Sunday when I suggested it!!
