With all the circumstances we are living through at this time in our nation's history:

  • Coronavirus pandemic
  • call for  self quarantine
  • concern for the elderly especially with extenuating health issues_ of which I am one
  • Concern about  enough health resources to  care for the exponentially growing numbers of    the sick across the nation
I will not be deterred from thanking the Lord  for His loving kindness, mercy, compassion, and provision!

996.  I thank you, Father, for the wonderful life  my family has  had..  you provided  for everything we ever needed and  my parents  lived to a ripe old age..I love how you have provided for Hubs,  and I  and  how  our children  live a very happy life with their two daughters.  You are in control of every thing in our lives and  we put our trust and faith in YOU!

997.  This year  has been  year of trial for us... my shingles, my  knee  problems,  now this  covid-19, but even so I know that even in trial you are in control.. YOU allow us to experience trial to grow us closer to you,  to grow our faith, and  learn to trust you even more..I have learned much about your love and compassion through pain and suffering and  now I  am able to apply  You to  the situations we face today.. For that I am so thankful.  I am not scared or fearful at all. I am old,  infirm, and  have  diabetes and kidney  disease, yet,  nothing ever takes You by surprise.. If you bring me  to it,  you take me through it, or take me home!  I praise God for my heavenly Father!

998.I am thankful for the godly wisdom of our daughter and son in law.  Amanda is a microbiologist and  was a cancer researcher in Cambridge, Ma  while she worked before the girls came along.  Of course, the incidence of the virus is much more in Massachusetts around where they live.. But  everyone is taking  the presidential  recommendations up there to heart...  everything is closed or  fast food for take out.  Amanda said she wouldn't touch that food with a ten foot pole..  just because you never know.. Not to be  rude,  but  prudent. People are working from home.  People are taking quarantine seriously because they understand the possible coming glut on medical resources  which would stymie the ability to adequately serve everyone who may need respirators, etc. Her  wise words have defintely taken hold of my heart and at this time I am quarantined.. stopped my allergy shots and therapy for the duration. I can do my exercises here at home. Even though no cases have been reported in our  area up to  at least 6o miles away, but  that doesn't mean there aren't  people walking around    whose symptoms haven't manifest yet...which is exactly what I heard from the  top  doctor at Johns Hopkins.  So  the numbers are actually  much higher than are being reported.  Thank you, Lord, for using people in my life to help me understand the seriousness of the situation and take the measures I need for my health and safety.

999. I am so thankful for Spring.  A time of new beginnings...  Spring has not been cancelled.  We only need to look outside and see the handiwork of God!

1000.  I am so very thankful  for  making it to 1000 as I started this long ago  sharing my  blessings along the way. I am probably most thankful for my precious husband who has taken such loving and  unending  care of me  through  these last 48 years.  Next week  we will celebrate those 48 years  of marriage,  but we've actually  been going around together for 53 years.  Our first date was  October 16, 1968.  It was  homecoming weekend of our senior year and we had prearranged to meet up at the high school   bonfire.  From there we walked  several blocks to the Tastee Freeze for some hot chocolate.  We sat on the grounds  of the park and just talked.  I knew he was special  from the very start.  From then on, there was no body else for me!

991.  I am praising God that my knee is considerably better..the therapy is helping quit a bit.  The shingles are, as well!  It is a much brighter day!

992.  We actually got almost all of the winter decor down and boxed up this week.  Today I will start some springing up the home.  That really puts a lilt in my step!

993.   Hubs has been such a great servant to the Lord this week.  He and another friend have  completely painted the fellowship  hall.  All the radiators, the walls, doors, and trims.. Now our  fellowship hall is the basement of a much older building than our  actually church that is right behind the main building.  The older building dates back to the 1920's and  the basement was looking  pretty  grim..  Now it is  actually pristine...  I am so proud of  Hubs and   this  project has  put   a huge smile on the church, as we  delighted in seeing everyone at our church dinner last night..  I am very thankful for such a thoughtful and   accommodating husband and his  love for the church!

994.  I am thankful for the    wonderful weather.. I understand this is our earliest spring in 100 years. Wow!  And it has come at such a great time.. just as I am feeling so much better,  and I can  enjoy the  early  vestiges of spring.. it is a grand thing!
My early spring table!
995.  I am looking forward to going for my 4 month checkup tomorrow.  I have lost weight,  watched what I ate, and am hopeful for a great report! It feels wonderful to actually look forward to going to the doctor's office! Thank you, Lord!

986.  I finally got to see my regular doctor  this week...  She had been    so hard to get  I suppose due to this  immense  flu and cold  season.  It was wonderful to get to  talk to her  about my shingles.. I was originally given a medicine by the PA   that  upon studying it I was  too afraid to take  because of  a condition I  have due to taking  a  bad medicine  before.. but this new medicine was    supposed to  help with shingles pain which  has been so  very difficult for me, especially during the  night hours.  So my docotr convinced me that the medicine would be fine for me and now I am feeling the benefits of taking it! Praise you, Father,  for    bringing me to this place of  healing and  peace!

987.  Also, I took my knee brace with me to  therapy this week, and   my therapist showed me the best way to wear it.  I had been having trouble with it staying up on my knee..  I'm wearing it now, and it helps  so much!    Father of Lights,  you    have again brought me into a time of relief and  gladness!!
It is so true we suffer for lack of knowledge!

988. This week my precious granddaughter  wanted to send me a message  on messenger..     She just thought of it herself  .  She is 4  and just  so precious..  my message was ...
a very cute emoticon of a bunny  throwing me  kisses... I  can't upload it here,  but  it put a huge smile on this ole face 'o mine!
Bless her pea-pickin' heart!

989.  I actually felt up to doing my Bible Study for Community Bible Study this week.  I had all five days done,  but alas, on the day  to go to class,  I had my    doctor's appointment    and couldnt go...  But I am still   feeling so much better.. I'm  doing   our next lesson this afternoon!
I've been so under the weather  for so long now that to  be feeling more like myself is  wonderuful!  Thank you, Lord...

990. Hubs has been going over to the church this week working on  an improvement project..  Getting involved in our  small,  but wonderful church has been a great blessing to us both.  It is great to be serving  there  with    those wonderful  saints.  Sharing the gifts  that the Lord has given uws  brings  great reward to the soul!

This  beautiful church  had been  in a  long decline for several  years, but  with our new pastor and  the precious remnant of  people there,    it is  a great privelege  to serve there!

And we are seeing  new  visitors coming every week!

976.  Goodness it has been a while  since I was able to take the time to do my thankful post and that does not bode well for me.. busy-ness is no excuse!   Forgive me Father,  for your mercies are new every morning and your gifts are many.I do thank him everyday in all my circumstances as well as my blessings...  ..today is heart is full of thanksgiving for my dear  husband who has been so very good to me during my confinement.. My knee has been pretty much out of commission for 9 days.. and he has done everything including panning all the meals and  doing all the clean up... And he is  serving me so dearly!   God bless him!

977.  Lord, I thank you even for this condition I am in  at this time, because it is through the struggles we  learn to appreciate You and Your  mercies all the more...    and that is what we  all need  more knowledge of who You are and  who we are in You!!

978. Many thanks to my dearest friend, Dottie, who s topped by yesterday    bringing us the dinner we will enjoy this evening!

God bless my friend, Dottie with good health,  joy, and happiness!

979.I was so blessed yesterday when our  wonderful pastor called to check up on me..  Last night was prayer meeting and he wanted to know what my requests were.  Jeff is a rare  and wonderful pastor of his flock..  We are so fortunate!

975.  I suppose I would be remiss if I didn't praise  God even in my pain today...  I  wrenched my back last night  during a  horrid sneezing attack..  worst ever...  and I am really moving slowly today.  It is  in pain we can really appreciate those days when   our bodies  are  faring well and    we can move  carefreely and  effortlessly!  I pray for that to come on me today...  and   to God be the most  magnificent glory! In Jesus' perfect and holy name!
