Summer Swap

How exciting to get to share today what we received in the Summer Swap. First of all, I want to thank Peggy so much for her wonderful idea to have this swap. I had such a fun time thinking about, shopping for, and preparing for my items! It was one of my favorite pastimes this summer, really! I was so excited when I went to the mail this past Tuesday and found a mailer from another state addressed to me with the sweet words that have come to mean so much to… Summer Swap! I left it propped up on the counter in the sun room for the first day, just wondering what it might contain! The suspense became maddening…. and so then I opened it up!

My excitement continued to build as I unwrapped the three tissue- paper wrapped treasures!





I want to continue to build the suspense, because, I just love these kind of surprises, and I don’t want it to be over so quickly!

Drumroll, please …or how about a rock and roll band?




Ta-Dah!



1) The notepad is really beautiful. It contains one of my favorite and most powerful scriptures! Which, also, goes along with my main themes in life: The armor of God! The verse, “You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in Your Word!”
2) The bar of soap is adorable. Mary Engelbrett really does things up nicely! Life is a chair of bowlies!

3) My favorite: A beautiful gift book entitled Sweet Rose of Friendship..

I was finally able to get my summer swap goodies packaged today!

Then I'm off tomorrow to Priority Mail it to Pennsylvania! The package must arrive there by Saturday!FUN!

Summer Swap Update

I am so excited! I have been matched with Peggy, our hostess! Getting ready for this event has been a highlight of my week, but I must say now knowing my match is with Peggy, the Simple Woman, makes this so special!! I believe that her site was one of the first I ever linked up to when I first started blogging earlier in the spring, so I am totally honored to be swapping with her!!

Summer Swap

Peggy over at The Simple Woman, is doing a Summer Swap. We are to think about doing a home-made item, a gently worn item from home, and a thrift shop, yard sale type item all connected around the summer theme. I am very excited to say that I have finished my water color painting for the swap. It is so difficult to sometimes determine when I have made the very last stroke of a brush, but, today I can definitively declare, "I did it"! Now am off again to the consignment shop to make absolutely certain I have found just exactly the treasure I need to send along with my painting! This is soooo fun!!

I am very excited to say that because of the impetus generated by this oopportunity to share, I have started do a project of which I havent done for quite some time. I am so thrilled to set my hand to it again, and am finding true contentment in creating something that has never been done in quite this same way ever before. I feel a deep connection with the Father, as he is were guiding my hand and allowing me the rich savor of bringing things together in a just so way! And in the end there is the fruit of my labor... wonderful sense of being here in my studio. Praise the Lord of creation that he should share place within us the desire to craft something with the talent he bestows in us.
