Eucharisteo Living ( 1000 Gifts 351-370)

If you havent read it yet,   you must stop  by Ann Voskamp's site and read  her  current  post here.

IN the Bleak Midwinter....  we are certainly there now, and  it  is  wondrous....

Just 30 minutes ago I looked out the window  and  I could tell   there was something different in the   rain...  the blessed rain  we have  been having this week... the rain we needed so badly to replenish the earth and  restore the water table... and fill the reservoirs....
351.  a precious, life giving  gift of God
it wasnt  15 minutes later   that   the ground  was  turning   white...
352.    the pristine  purity  that   falls from Heaven!

Now 45 minutes later  and  the ground is completely covered...

353.  and the flakes are  falling like so many  feathers   from a heavenly  pillow fight....
I  have been looking forward to   snow  this  season   so much...
354.  finally  a change in the weather and  hopefully a respite from  the germs and  the many  cases of  influenza and   colds  which  all too often have led to   pneumonia...as  folks a re  forced indoors and   the germs have a chance to die out!
I am now continuing   along with the Joy Dare    that   Ann  challenged us at the  first of the year....  you can find the  Joy Dare  calendars here...
355.  I am extremely blessed with  my family, my parents,  my wonderful husband, our   precious daughter and son-in-law, and  my  loving church family as well.
356. Each day of my life is  to the full because of the  work of the Holy SPirit.  Praise God!
357.  The love and fulfilment I experience everyday
358.  The  entrance of  3  godly and  experientially  influential  folks into our   prayer  group...  God is  awesome!  Aslan is definitely on the move!
359.  The move of the Spirit to provide  in every area of life... especially in the   varied opportunities  that  are  opening to us!
360.  The  ever  growing impact of John and Mary  in our  prayer group....  such  devotion  and   obedience to serve  is  such an encouragement!

361.  The wonders of heaven we are experiencing  as   our group  fellowships and  presses in  to the understanding  of what  a spiritual warrior  is all about!

362.  The blessing of serving beside  such  kindred spirits  of God!

363.  The warm  beautifully hand -knitted scarf my friend, Joyce gave me
364.  The joy in seeing  the  benevolent offering we made last month  going  out  this month in  so many  ways to build  the kingdom from  our local  community    as far away as   Africa!
365.  The fabulous tea time  shared with Judy... the beauty and the love shared through the  setting and the prayers
366.  The opportunity to lovingly mentor  a  close friend  in an area  of  spiritual weakness...  life together in the body of  Christ!!
367.  The phone prayer I shared last evening with a friend the night before her  serious surgery today!
368. The  wonderful testimony  from our  Bible teacher on Tuesday who shared about the gentleman  at Good Will who  was   purchasing as many coats as he could afford to take to the Battered Women's Shelter..
369.   The easy  laughter shared with my best friend   over   trivial and serious   things....laughter  is, after all, the best medicine!
370.  The blessing of the  easy, smooth  lush music of  my friend's (David)  cd  I  just purchased...  it  feeds my soul!!!

A Thousand Gifts

Photobucket

Ann's blog, A Holy Experience, is a fascinating site of praise and encouragement. I got the idea for this effort from her. It really does strengthen my resolve and my love of the Lord by being much more attentive to the small blessings every day.
Sorry to say that it has been a long while since my last post but today I pick up with the following blessings:
316. The simple blessings of time spent with good, faithful, friends who build one another up in the faith and show loving kindness and true authenticity.
317. The dew on the tomato vines that glistens in the early morning sunlight like so many diamonds.
318. The love and caring of a devoted husband who brings me my coffee each and every morning.
319. The faith of my mother whom I love very much
320. The gift of my dad who will be 91 in a month.
321. The pleasure and joy eac Sunday night when we know we can expect a newsy and loving phone call from Amanda.
322. Since my last posting we had new floors put down in the kitchen and sunroom... they still just bless me by their appearance, ease of care, and the way they feel to walk on them....
323. Also, since my last posting,, I would have to say that in the world,, things have gone downhill.. the economy, the moral fabric of our society.... the outlook for our nation and the world looks grim.... the news regarding Lynn's and my pension sounds alarming and not very trustworthy... but I know whom I've believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I've committed to Him against that day....my faith and trust is in the Lord... He will provide all that we need!!!

Thankful Thursday and 1000 Gifts

Visit Iris at Grace Alone for more Thankful Thursday!
I have been so fortunate in my church affiliations. Previous to the church we now attend we were members of a semi Charismatic fellowship, whose delight in the Lord and strong belief in the miraculous really encouraged my faith and reliance on the Holy Spirit. Unfortuantely, there were some elements of the worship there which were not a good fit for us as a family, but I have been welcome there to continue with my care group, The Ageless Group, that meets each Wednesday for Bible teaching and fellowship. There is no way I could leave these precious folks- which is the group that celebrated the Feast of Tabernacles this week. I am so thankful for each one represented there. They have taught me so much about desiring more from and about God.
Our present church is wonderful in its leadership, the ministries they offer, its worship and the style of teaching all of which is propelling us both into a new realm of personal ministry and involvement. I am so thankful for the role it is playing in preparing Lynn for his work in the body. Praise God! Now we are working in tandem in our service to the Lord, and we both share a sense of fellowship in the body that had been lacking before!

It is always a wonderful exercise in praise and worship to recount the many blessings of God I experience each week. They include the following:
284. the time we get to spend with the Amanda and Joshua is such a rare blessing
285. the definite presence of the Holy Spirit at the Feast of Tabernacles was a tangible joy
286. the fellowship last night around the dinner table at church was precious
287. the delight in spening the morning with my mom yesterady at the F of T and seeing how well she got along was wonderful-I pray she has recuperated today!
288. being able to share with Vicki and her precious daughter, Sarah, yesterday at the FoT. Sarah is seen in the collage montage listed below! A precocious, bright, adorable dollbaby!
289. reading and being encouraged by so many blogs I have discovered lately. There is so much rich Biblical teaching found in so many wonderful blogs. I am so blessed to have found blogging! I love it!!
290. making new friends in blogland- I am thinking of Stacey, Renna, Emily, Marie, Carrie, Kelly, Hip Chick, Karen, and Carla as I type! You all bless me so much!!
291. I am ecstatic over the prayer ministry I am involved in at church. I am convinced that God put our group together- each one of us spirit-filled and seeking more from God. There is so much unity and authentic fellowship between the 7 of us!
292. our wonderful marriage is a continuing blessing after 37 years!
293. the longevity of my parents- at 85 and 89 they are such a blessing to us! may they have many more years to love us, each other and be loved! Praise God
294. the beauty of the fall tipped trees yesterday on our outing -the treetops looked to be dipped in gold and rubies. So vibrant and rich of color, it is a blessing to see the process unfold!
295. the trials of these days are an unusual blessing to us because of the rich, deep discussion around the table- people are turning to God, studying His word, sharing about the deep mysteries of his Word. He is the only answer to our present problems! He will bring His children through! Maranatha!

Thursday is the day to write about our thankful hearts. You'll find more thankful hearts here.
Today I am so thankful for the Word of God, For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul and spirit, joints and marrow, as it judges the thoughts and purposes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Thankful Thursday, 1000 Gifts

Photobucket
Iris, of Sting My Heart, hosts this opportunity to demonstrate our thankfulness and love for the Lord and His promises through his word each Thursday. Today I am sharing about Paul's prayer for believers found in Ephesians 1.
17I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit[f] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, 20which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
This section of scripture has always been so awesome to me. To think that I share in the inheritance of His so great power manifest through the Holy Spirit, even that power exerted in raising Christ from the dead, I am catapulted into a mind boggling realm of wonder. Where is the evidence of this awesome power in my life? In the life of the church? The study, Beleiving God, by Beth Moore is bringing this scripture and so much more to light. Finally, the eyes of my heart are being opened. Praise God!Thank you, Jesus!

In an effort to reach 1000 blessings by the end of the year I need to step up my praise!I am so thankful for
246. my Wednesday morning care group. This group from my previous church is made up mainly of older women whose testimony demonstrates refined gold in wisdom, understanding, love, and expectation. My prayer life has grown exponentially through the teaching and inspiration of this group.
247. God's working in my life, that even through adversity and persecution I am able to see God's hand in bringing me from one place into a much better place of service to Him
248. the veil between the physical and the spiritual worlds is becoming so transparent- the scales are falling off of my eyes that I might see God through my persecution and know that I must need do nothing in retaliation or defense. God is in control and He is my Fortress and my Rock. Praise God!
249. I have the confidence through this wee struggle to know that when even greater trial comes, God can handle that also and I can rest in Him. God is so good!
250. Thank you so much, Father, for the confirmation I received this week- such a huge blessing!
251. We were so blessed by our visit with the kids last night, the abilities God has given them in their post grad work, the opportunities God has poured into their lives and the provision of Joshua's great job. They are such a handsome, sweet, loving couple! I just love to sit back and admire them together!!
252. the music that God has put into my soul. I love the rhythm, the quality, the toe-tapping joy of it thrills my heart!
253.That autumn has come and the expectation for the bursting colors of the season is evidenced by the glimmers of russet and gold that are peeking through.
254. Jacket weather has arrived!
255. The soul quenching fellowship this morning around our breakfast out with dear, dear sisters in Christ where our wonderful conversation was satuarated with God, His word, his promise, His work in our lives!
256. My visit with my parents this morning seeing them out in the yard doing some end of the season maintenance and cleanup even in their frailty their desire to keep on keeping on is so inspiring to me and all who know them. Praise the Lord!
257. My dear husband who is taking off this afternoon to be here at home with me while the workmen are coming to work on a project here in the house. He knows I feel uncomfortable with this and his love in being here is very precious to me.
258. This morning the children's voices on the playground across the street is music to my ears. Beleive me, sometimes it is not! Praise God it consoles me today!
259. Praise God He constrained me today when I had a very disappointing episode at the grocery store with arrogant checkout employees. Obviously there is stress within that store management, but at food prices skyrocketting, customers deserve to at least be treated respectfully at pay up time! But God's grace was with me! He is faithful!
260. My dear, sweet husband just undertook to fix an fabulous dinner of amazing buckwheat cakes, smattered with fresh blueberries, a side dish of crispy bacon, and coffee while I was able to finish my last couple of day of Beleiving God homework!
261. I am so thankful that I am able to attend 2 Beth Moore studies which are blessing my life unbeleivably. But keeping up with all the home work is daunting! So far so good, because God is making it all possible for me to find the time to do it. Oh, Father, keep me obedient to use the given time to Your Glory! Amen!

John 10:10b I have come that you might have life, and have it more abundantly!

Oh, to serve so great a Savior!
