Sunday Stillness

My how    things of this world  do seem to  be  in flux....  one by one, it appears that   all the temporal things  in which we have placed our trust  heretofore,   have been   systematically stripped away.....  until   we it comes   down to In Christ Alone!  And what a  wonderful  song that is..
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless Babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save

Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live, I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again

And as He stands in victory
Sins curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From a lifes first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny

No power of hell, no scheme of man
Could ever pluck me from His hand
Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I stand

I will stand, I will stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground, all other ground
Is sinking sand, is sinking sand
So I stand

Oh to  stand on  the promises of God  His love, His mercy,  His  lovingkindness and HIs grace when we see  the world  spiralling out of control,  because we know that  in God   we have our stability!   He is my standard.   our mighty tower,   IN whom we  can place  all of our  trust,,, for He is ever faithful and just....

Faithful Father

SUNDAY STILLNESS

This awesome   sunset met  us  when we returned from  church last  Wednesday night..
  I   am  reminded  of the glory of God  even in the midst of  such a terrible week, a week of  terror, uncertainty,  anger, and deep concern...
God's majesty is still  as  glorious as it  ever  is and has been,  He never  changes,   His power and  glory   are  everlasting...  His goodness  endures forever....  He reigns  supreme  over all the  earth,  and   by His hand  all things are  held  together.. nothing happens   outside of His will,,   whether  direct or permissive...  and  he will see His children through   the  deep waters...
  I have to remember this  because  our daughter  lives 900 miles away... outside of Boston and  works in Cambridge.  There is nothing I can  do      but put my faith and trust in  my heavenly Father to  watch over her and keep her  in His  hand and direct her path...Praise God, he is faithful, and just, and sure!

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning (James 1:17).
~~~~~~
God is glorious in His holiness; His deity cannot cease to be. God can never change from faithfulness to unfaithfulness, from omnipotence to impotence, from holiness to unholiness, from righteousness to unrighteousness. All things happen according to His unchangeable plans.
Sunday Stillness
SUNDAY STILLNESS
 On Friday evening  we  were  driving cross town to attend  a  Bible Study group   at  a dear friend's home  up on the  mountain  there...the bank of clouds and  the  blue  sky  were so   striking....  the afternoon sun was magical...so  clear...  clear as a bell.  God's glory was  all over   us  as  we  reached the mountain road...
God's presence  was  tangible  in  the Godlight all around us...
A song of  deep   love and appreciation  for   God's creation   stirred within us  as  we arrived at our  destination....  it  was  a prelude to the    awesome  experience we shared with  our   fellow  students as
we gathered around    God's Word  and allowed the  roar of His waterfalls to crash all around us!
Psalm 42
7 Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me.
8 By day the Lord directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.
