Monday- Living a Slow, Purposefully Meaningful Life

Purposeful Living

I am borrowing this from Facebook ..   This is so pertinent and well written!

                                    Chrystal Evans Hurst

There is a reason you are in this space.
It is not an accident that you are walking through this season of life.
There is a plan for everything you are experiencing.
And if you embrace the journey it will lead you to your purpose. Your divine purpose. The one God created YOU to fulfill. Don’t be deceived. There IS a unique plan just for your life.
So gear up, stay the course and watch as it unfolds.

Yes, sometimes I wonder what the Lord is up to.. for we know He is absolutely sovereign and in complete control. Nothing happens except by his direct or indirect will. So evil is being allowed to rob, kill and destroy the foundations of our nation as we knew it 30 years ago. Yet, I believe there was an undercurrent of change coming 6o years ago with the removal of prayer from our schools.
It is my suggestion that the Lord is testing the church in these generations to see if we are ever going to rise and worship Him by focusing on Him through the day, doing His will, and loving one another in ways that demonstrate Christ to the lost!We have made some gains, but from my perspective we do have a way to go as attested by the decline of the nation and the world!I love the vlogs I follow about slow living. They really help me to set my mind on how to live apart.

Hearing & Responding

Matthew 7:24-27 (NIV®)
“Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Two men, two different choices. They both heard Jesus’ words and had a choice to make about what to do with them. The man who heard Jesus’ words and acted on them had a good outcome; the one who heard but did not act on them experienced a great crash. There is a difference between studying Scripture and living it out. Accumulating biblical facts is not a strong platform for your life, so go beyond that and be a committed practitioner. The winds of life will still blow—but when they pass, you will still be standing.

THINK ABOUT IT
Watch, listen, think, and act upon the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Once we hear Jesus’ counsel through Scripture, we are duty-bound to act in accordance with what He says.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, forgive me for when I have read and heard Your counsel but not responded in obedience to what You presented. I want my feet set upon the Rock that is Jesus—help me act in agreement with Your Word and Your will. In Jesus’ name, amen.
