I am pretty excited to finally be in December!!! I am now counting the days until we leave to celebrate with our kids!!! Although we are still waiting on some online gifts to arrive and actually now I need to order another one. We still need to get something for our youngest's birthday which is two days after Christmas! Whew!
But this has been a great week!It didn't start out that great though... I woke up Sunday feeling pretty awful. .. my allergies were rampant and I had a horrible headache, so we missed church.. Of course, these days you can watch online which is great!. Monday was better and we got some things done around the house. I worked on and got about half the Christmas cards ready to mail and started reading the girls’ books so I can create detective clues to attach to the books for the girls to find the answers as they read. I think they are going to really enjoy this.. They love reading so much and this just adds a bit more mystery to the story. Most all the books are mystery type stories, so I look forward to getting this project all finished .
Tuesday my best friend and I met at Olive Garden along with two women from our church who are among our 6 Sisters.. a group the women ministry initiates every 6 months to put 6 women together to get to know each other better. We thoroughly enjoyed our time together. This week the other two were old-time members who shared about the history of the church.. the time got away from us and before we knew it, it was almost 3 pm., but we had a wonderful time!
Wednesday was our day out and about. I had a bit of lab work to be done (turned just fine by the way)and my allergy shot , then we took my pitiful Ipad to a local repair shop for Apple products and they successfully replaced the battery that truly was on its last legs. I am so excited because it is like having a brand new one now. I am also excited it isn't a new foreign entity to me, but a dear old friend. You know how it is to get new technology and it takes a long time to get it set up and familiar. But now I can put that off for, I hope, a couple of more years. And now hubby can replace his desk computer which is only 11 years old! Merry Christmas, Lynn!Just to see his excitement makes me feel wonderful!!
Today we are planning a bit of a shopping trek this afternoon. I will be writing those book clues on a large mailing tags (hopefully) a white one with the red and white string. I want to put a dog detective photo on it and then write out 5 clue questions on each tag for each of the 8 books I have purchased for them.(4 each). I was dreading reading every book to garner the clues., but last night I looked up on line and found sites that wrote just enough info about the books (like Good Reads, and synopsis on wikipedia,) so I don't have to read them all. Whew! Thank you, Lord!!
Then Lynn said he'd take us out for Chinese tonight! Yay!
Saturday is our Women's Christmas Brunch at church. I signed up to bake a sausage veg , egg, and cheese casserole. So I plan to do the frying of the sausage, and veg in the evening so I can just put it all together and bake it in the morning before I leave. I look forward to this because now that we've been there for just about 1 year, I finally feel like I know enough people to feel like one of them. And church socials are so important. So I'd say this was a great week.. Next week will be up and down,.,,so hopefully the up will cancel out the downs, but that is left for us to see! God bless!!!
PS.. today, Friday, we got go to the theater to see I Heard the Bells.. this is a sight and sound film production and it is wonderful! playing locally only a couple of days.. check your listings. It is so very good!! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt21084334/
