Tuesday 4 Question Hodge Podge

Hosted by Annie!

from Brambly Hedge

Welcome to Tuesday 4 begun by Toni Taddeo and kept up in memory of her.

Here are the questions for this week:

1. Who inspires you and why?
My pastor inspires me because he is led by the Holy Spirit in his preaching and teaching. Our daughter also inspires becasue she is very brilliant and  she, also, has  tons of common sense and she  helps to keep me grounded.    Bless them both, Lord for Your purposes!

2. Convince us to read  one of your favorite books.  I highly recommend  one of my very favorite books, by Bob Sorge, entitled Secrets of the Secret Place.   Bob came to our church to speak years ago and I was so taken by him.  He was a  worship leader in his church and  loved to sing unto God.  but during one of his  songs during   the service  his voice failed him.  He lost his voice and has not regained it.  He can barely speak in a very low tone.  The doctors have told him his  cords are shot and  he shouldn't try to over stress it.  Yet, he continues to speak of what he has learned from the Lord; and he must speak into a  voice amplifying microphone. But what he has to say is awesome.  God has poured Biblical truth and understanding into him mightily! Secrets of the Secret Place is all about seeking God, where He can be found;  how we approach Him; what to do with what it is He speaks into  your life.  From the author: Secrets of the Secret place are keys to igniting Your Personal Time with God.. the "womb of the morning"  the fountainhead of true kingdom fruitfulness.
Other authors wrote: With this book as a road map, gain fresh vision and inspiration for going forward on a journey wherein the very issues of life are in the balance.
I have give many copies of this book away...  I pray they are  valued as much as I value mine!

3. What meal does your family just love and will you share the recipe?
Image result for country sausage gravy

My family loves my country sausage gravy over biscuits
1/2 lb Neece's country sausage with sage
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups whole milk
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

Heat large skillet over medium heat. Add sausage; cook 10 to 12 minutes until crumbled and browned, stirring occasionally. Remove sausage. Stir flour into 4 tablespoons drippings remaining in skillet and cook about 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add milk and cook about 5 minutes until thickened and bubbly. Add additional milk if gravy seems too thick. Add sausage to gravy. Season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately over hot biscuits
I use the Hardee biscuit recipe!

2 cups self-rising flour
1/2 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cups buttermilk
1⁄3cup cold butter
DIRECTIONS
Mix together but do not knead.  actully  just bring it all together lightly  into a  soft   ball and  handle very lightly  for very light biscuits. You will ahve to flour the board.. will be sticky

Roll out to 1 inch thick.
Cut and brush tops with additional buttermilk.
Place on greased cookie sheet.
Bake@ 400 degrees for 15 minutes.

YUM!!!
4.  In Brambly Hedge they make Rose Petal Jam.
What kind do you like and why?
I personally love Orange Marmelade... I started really loving it when I started   doing tea parties and my  scone of choice to bake was the cranberry orange scones..  With a dollop of  marmelade ...  scrummy!
