More of our visit with the Kids part 8

I have already shared  in  a recent post   of a   surprise,  a thrilling   adventure ,  when  we   enjoyed the Boston Symphony   and heard  guest violinist Joshua bell  !   Awesome!!!    Well, on our return weekend   ... just last Saturday,   the kids   had  another   awesome surprise for  us....   another  trip into Boston...
 The Boston Opera House
   Magnificent   in itself....
But we were there to see...
War Horse Boston | Boston Opera House
War Horse
Words do not   adequately   describe  just how   fantastic    this  play   was !!!
War Horse Boston Opera House
The   puppets  of    the horses  were   magnificent  and so very life-life....   however  they were able to portray World War I  was beyond understanding   and   more than  miraculous...  but   everyone  in attendance w  completely  captivated and   caught up in the  intensity and  the  drama...   I will never forget this   awesome  event!!!

Visitin' Amanda part 7

Today I am  sharing on  Favorite Things
Thursday..
Thursday Favorite Things

For me  one of  most favorite things is  getting  to visit  our daughter and son-in-law in their   lovely home...  problem is....  it  is  12 hours drive away  so  we   get to  about  once a year...they  do visit   with us  most  regularly   but   to see   Amanda in her home is very special to me....Even though  she  works  very hard in cancer research    she is still a very dedicated housewife,   home decorator, and   chef  extraordinaire!!!
ON Friday  we left  Maine  and headed  due south   back to Amanda's ....we usually  try to  avoid  interstates   but  we were   looking  so forward to arriving   we   took   495   and   gladly   exited  onto   a lovely  state road to finish our  journey..

Our Lovely Maine Holiday part 6

 My photo-logue says it all!
The teal of the blue water  was so majestic!!
The rocky shore.... picturesque!

The flag at the Bush compound was flying
which means GW was in town!

This cormorant was  busy   sunny himself!!!

The marsh lands in New England     are so expansive,,, no wonder so many   water fowl are seen flying  in  v-formation   ..  as an elementary teacher   teaching   reading so many of our  stories were set in NE   and   flocks of   sea fowl  were  drawn in many  illustrations.....   I  believe that is what made  NE  seem so special to me   from the start!

Tablescape Thursday
It is great to be back   home  following  our   couple of weeks   in  New England!  For the  last  several   posts I have   retold   our   wonderful adventures  in   Massachusetts,  Vermont,  and New Hampshire...   and   I  am  following up in Maine with my   tablescape post!  The  Bufflehead Cove Inn      hostess  certainly   does create   a  warm and welcoming   table   for her  guests!!
All throughout the inn   she   assemblies and graces  tabletops with   the  flora  from her environs
The breakfast table is no exception...
I had  to   sneak a peak...   the china   is Wedgewood,  the Persian pattern....   I love it!!!
Tea with all the trimmings  is   always  available..
and this morning  there were  6 of us at the head table ...
I   adore   how creatively  our pineapple was   served to us  again with   a lovely mum  in attendance! That morning  we  were also served Eggs Provencal,   delicious  home fries, and  baked tomahto,   love  the   New English  pronunciation!
with this   fabulous  breakfast  we were   all set  to   set  our course  due east!!!

Vacation part 5 By the Sea

Wednesday   dawned  with  more rain and drizzle....
Nevertheless, we   set our  gps for  parts  east....we had  reservations an inn...but   first  we ahd to stop for   food,.... at Mabel's Lobster Claw!!!Mabel blessed us   mightily!
We got there  early  and she   took us in without  a reserved table! Then we   arrived a t the Bufflehead Cove Inn!
We  had the Garden room waiting for us!

The fireplace felt  wonderful   it was  such a  cold drizzle!

 We  loved our room...

Right outside our door....berries
 and grapes....  lovely!
The main room of the  bed and breakfast    was   charming     .. like  an old sea captain's   home....

We were  already looking forward to breakfast!

We  wondered what the morrow had in store for us!!!!
And  graciously,      we  awakened to  sun !!!

One of the things I  loved  about   this inn  was the setting  on the  tidal river....  if only it felt warm enough  to eat out on the porch!!!!

Alas,  we were served inside,  but  breakfast more than made up for everything!

We could hardly wait to  get back to our room and load up   for the day   of   touring!!!

Wonders  of  God's  creation   were  awaiting us!!!!
