(Past hosts include: Our first - Judd Corizan, Mr. L, Kwizgiver and Bud) Cheers to all the thieves! The questions this week come from
Ravenclaw Ask Game

1. Do you have a passion project? What is it?Once I get it all out and organized I love to do oil painting,  but it takes up so much room and I do not have a studio,  or  any other space, so it ends up in the sun room.  I  don't like giving the sun room over to it, so I haven't painted for a while and now all the oils are dried up.. It would be a   major investment to start up again...  We are talking of moving  and  a room for  the art projects would be lovely to consider!Doesn't sound very passionate does it,,  but  once I'm into it,  I'm into IT!!!

2. How many languages can you speak? 2  English and Spanish.  Como esta'?  I know some German,  but  not conversationally!

3. What was the last book you read?  Fiction book,  was  a Susan Branch book, Martha's Vineyard, Isle of Dreams

This was part of her  autobiographical trilogy!

4. Where in the world would you most like to visit?
I was just speaking to my daughter about us  planning a trip to Great Britain  with  her family  when the girls are a bit older, and  having her husband do the driving.. She was  very  interested in it, as well.. We would do England, Scotland, and Ireland!

5. Top 5 fictional characters?  Mine come in couples
  1. Margaret Hale and Mr. Thornton from North and South
  2.Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy
  3.Claire and Jamie  from  Outlander
  4. Jane Eyre and Mr Rochester
  5. Emma and Mr. Knightly

6. Something you miss from your childhood?  I  miss and so would love to have been able to  take my daughter to visit my granny who lived so far down in the country she had no indoor facilities and  heated her home and   cooked on a wood stove,  and was the best cook in 4 counties!  It was quite something to  sleep under 4 quilts and   wake up, count to ten, throw back the covers, grab your wrapper and  slippers, and  run like   the wind to the kitchen on frosty mornings!!!

7. What skill do you wish you had?  I wish I was a better knitter..  I can, but it is rubbish!

8. Tell us an interesting fact!I used to go to  the opening day of Trout season every year as a little girl up through high school with my daddy...  We would stop at a tiny store on the way down to our spot on the river and purchase   Nabs and a can of Vienna sausages for our lunch...  We used  a plastic fork   to  eat  them, because there was no where to wash our hands... I loved the fishing part until I was about 14, then I liked to go because of the boys!!!

9. What was your favourite subject in school?  History and the social studies.

10. Favourite planet?  I love the mysteries of life on Earth,  but  as a child I would have picked Saturn...

11. Which historical figure fascinates you and why?I always  loved Robert E. Lee..  He  was so valiant in the Spanish American War, he returned home to Virginia a hero,  just in time for the Civil War.  When  Abraham Lincoln  was looking for  a commander of the Union  troops,  he first of all asked  Lee,  but  he couldn't fight against his beloved home, Virginia,  so he  became the Commander of the Confederacy knowing they didn't have a chance to win...  but because of the  heroic and  fabulous leadership  of    he and Thomas Jackson,  they  kept the  fight going  for  4  long years...there were  worthy  ideals  to fight for, including states rights,  but it was a doomed war  for many reasons...  and  it took a  horrible toll on him , his men, and the south..  But  there  was so much more about him than a  great warrior...  He was, first of all,  a great Christian,  gentleman, and patriot  to  his country... it saddens me to see how he  had to  serve  during  this  hardship of division.
12. Favourite mythical creature? I love fairies,  especially  sharing about them with my granddaughters,, and  seeing them dress up  like fairies  and   run around the yard with their magic wands  making  the flowers grow!!!

13. Do you believe in any conspiracy theories?I do believe, especially in today's drama we see being played out before us on the world stage  that conspiracies do in fact  unfold in mystery and  cause great  impacts on our culture..

14. What is your favourite word?  teatime

15. Do you have any obsessions right now?  After  seeing North and South  I  can  obsess over the  great  acting  ability of Richard Armitage who also played Thorin, king of the Dwarfs in  The Hobbit.  He is a very diversely talented young man!!  I  received 3  Audible books for Christmas that he  narrated in His  delectable  English baritone  accent!!

18. Do you have a collection of anything?  I collect  transfer ware pottery, my husband says I collect  Cd's of  music.,.. I do have  many,  but I never listen to them  because of Pandora now..I wish I had the money back....

19. What’s your biggest ‘what if’? Oh, there was a time I had  a million of them but I am at an age now that  the what if's  don't really matter much any more...truly. I cant think of any! Well, this is a biggie.. what if  my husband goes first..I can  not  hardly  think of  how I'll get along  in  many ways...  especially  in the book keeping.  I know I can learn,,, but  may it never be!!

20. What is your favourite fairy tale?  Beauty and the Beast

21. Have you ever dyed your hair? Is there a colour you’d like to dye it?  My natural hair color is mouse  brown..I had been a toe head so I went blond as a teen using Summer Blond..and have pretty much been a blond ever since!

22. If you could learn one language overnight, which would you choose? Magically, I'd love to speak Gaelic....  my Irish name is
Saoirse  (Seer-sha).

23. What’s the most useless thing you know how to do?  I have no idea!

24. What’s the most important change that should be made to your country’s education system?  uh-oh, you got me started...I  retired from teaching 15 years ago  after 30 years in the classroom.. I am ashamed of the  education system I see today!
Fire everyone and start over.. put prayer back into  schools,  teach morals, manners, respect,  true history, cursive,   good literature,  not  junk that   feeds  societal demise.. teach health, throw out sex ed and  all this  CRAP about  one's  proclivities..right to choose their own gender...  go back to teaching the facts of  math  memorization of the+,- X  facts and get rid of this  ridiculous long math  junk..In colleges,  fire those who  are    pressing their ideologies on the students and  put free thought and expression back into the  classroom .. call me old fashioned  but  the ed. system has gone to h___ in the last 15 years!   You asked me and I told you my mind on the subject.
