Wednesday Ponderings

This morning I have the election on my mind.... as I do so much of the time..

I have been so concerned about our nation in the past months.... as I see society on such a slippery slope... to the point that we have fallen off the plain of morality and patriotism... it is like how much more can we lose in the name of tolerance and political correctness.... I just about despise the terms, now, for how they have propelled our national decline....

I taught Virginia History for 30 years... all about our founding fathers and patriotism... and when I consider the times, I am so dismayed at how the very fabric of our nation is changing in this current leadership... The Word tells us to pray for our government leaders! I challenge us all to fall on our knees in this initiative ... to P.U.S.H. our prayers!

Prayer Unitl Something Happens!!!!

1Cor 4:5............Bring to light what is hidden in darkness,

Rev 2:5.............repenting, and returning to doing their first works,

1Chr 22:19........setting their hearts and their souls to seek the Lord,

Wednesday Ponderings

A stroll  down a country lane is  a perfect  venue for  my  Wednesday  ponderings....
The last couple of weeks  I have had  a lot to ponder....  mainly  centered around one main topic....  getting my  parents into Assisted  Living....  I suppose  that  all only children  like myself , if they are fortunate to have their parents  live to ripe age,   will come to this place in tier  family life....  My parents  had been adamant  all   these years that  they refused to leave their family home...   and  we are  so grateful that  the Lord has blessed their  lives to be able to  do  that  for all these years. But at age 88 and 92   their family doctor  recommended  that now it is time to consider  Assisted living and  praise, they are not only  ready to,  they a re anxious to make the move....   the  problem is....   am I  ready to  jump in  the mix and do all the things  that  will be necessary to make this happen....  the paperwork and preliminary meetings  with  banking, medical, Veterans,  offices,  realtor, and  downsizing,   fixing  up and selling the home...   it is overwhelming to say the least....   but as I have pondered this  I  realize   that  like Lynn told me....   how does one  eat an elephant??  One bite at a time....   but my  greatest resource is my wondeful Father in heaven  whom I trust to  go before me,  guiding me and  providing   for me every step of the  way....

Oswald Chambers said," Common sense is not faith and faith is not common sense. Let me say, I believe God will supply all my needs and then he will let me run dry with no outlook and see whether I will go through the trial of faith or sink back to something lower... what a quote for times like these... uncertain time, for sure.... I'd say the outlook on the horizon now seems rather grim.... hard to know what to do... in a group on church and society, our commitee had invited a speaker whom we are looking to invite to the church for a teaching on Christian responsibility in our world, and after we discussed the current situation, we went further to brainstorm some possible outcomes of this disintegrating society, and one topic included stock piling food... not just for our own family, but also in order to share with others. One wonders, is it time to begin thinking along that line,, thankfully, the result of this election hopefully will stay the hand of the enemy, who has appeared to be trying to rob us of our christian culture and freedoms... hopefully, we can place that thought of stockpiling food in reserve, and focus instead on living our lives in such a way as to demonstrate the love of Jesus and really affect change in our communities that will go far in pushing back the gates of hell and promoting christianity in the world. Therefore, the time for complacency is over, and its time to wake up and love one another, stand for righteousness and God's Truth, and instead stockpile acts of kindness that allow the Light of the world to shine through us!

As I was watching the evening news this evening I was really taken by the sheer magnitude of the effect nature is having throughout the world...blizzards, record cold, record snow, lack of snow in places where snow is prevalent. even earthquakes in Chicago. Now the evening commentators will never bring this up... but to my way of thinking it is not just Mother Nature who is acting out here.
El Shaddai ( God Almighty) Creator of the earth is definitely getting our attention! Most Bible scholars will attest that we have entered into what the Bible calls the Last Days... No one knows the exact day or hour that Jesus Christ will appear in the clouds and a trump will sound and the dead will rise first, then His church (Bride) will be changed in a twinkling, be caught up with Him in the air and leave this world behind.. Glory to God! Maranatha! The Bible tells us He will come as a thief in the night. No one knows when but the Bible has left us with many clues as to His appearing.. There will be signs in the nature. Believers are told to be vigilant....watching....
ready with our oil lamps filled with oil and our wicks trimmed. Oh, man, you do not want to be caught unaware... You dont want to be left behind! For the Bible says there are many who have gone to church, done all the right things, even performed miracles for his name sake, yet on that day, the Lord will say " I never knew you!" and they will be left behind because they had not oil in their lamp.
I think about this parable of the ten virgins a lot. It appears that that oil is very important to the Lord... it constitutes the relationship one develops with the Savior... through prayer, Bible study, time in the secret place. apparently there are many in our churches today who think they are part of the family of God, yet if they are not completely yielded to the Master, who do not willingly and lovingly seek to spend time in His Presence "working out their salvation with fear and trembling" then they could very well be in for a huge awakening.... but by then it will be too late. For the Bible also says to those who heard the gospel and failed to heed the word, after the day of His coming to catch up his children, to those others he will give a delusional mind so that their hearts will be hardened. There are many places in the scriptures where it says to those who have eyes to see and ears to hear.. heed these words.. I tell you, the days are getting short. The Bible is very clear about this. The end will come during the generation when Israel becomes a nation which was in 1947 and a generation is about 70 years. Watch the signs, read and study God's Word and be alert! Maranatha! Come Lord, Jesus!

What a roller coaster ride life is! And aren't the days rushing past with locomotive speed. The trials and mysteries of day to day living can be so disconcerting, I can not imagine how the unregerate, folk cope! Just this week, I have experienced the sense of loss and dismay of brought on by unexpected death, then joy and love unspeakable because of the Father's love for us, the fulfilling fellowship of sisters in Christ, yet, the dismal longing to hug my own daughter who is happily living her new life hundreds of miles away. Then, there is the fearful prospect of the coming pandemic of pestilence, the crushing blows of failing economy, bad news on every network, it seems, which could deplete anyone's reserve and send one into a downward emotional collapse. But praise God! He is faithful and just. With all our faith in Him who orders the universe, we have complete peace and confidence that come what may, we'll be better that okay! The verse which was written over me in prayer on my "WALK" is Romans 8:28!
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Trust and Obey

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,What a glory He sheds on our way! While we do His good will, He abides with us still,And with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:Trust and obey, for there’s no other wayTo be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,But His smile quickly drives it away; Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,Can abide while we trust and obey.
Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,But our toil He doth richly repay; Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,But is blessed if we trust and obey.
But we never can prove the delights of His loveUntil all on the altar we lay;For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,Are for them who will trust and obey.
Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,Or we’ll walk by His side in the way; What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;Never fear, only trust and obey.

Coming Home

Photobucket
Coming home is such a delight! I love this season, the colors, textures...every sense is tantalized, heart quickened, upon any approach to home. Whether you are coming up the street from Mamajean's house, or coming over the hill from town, home sits there like a jewel welcoming it's happy inhabitants back to comfort and security. There is no place like home!
John 14:23
Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
