Sunday~Abiding worship

Our second week of Advent symbolizes Peace.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14: 27)

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our LordJesus Christ.(Rom.5:1)

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. (Isa. 26: 3)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:6-8)

Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thess. 5:23)

Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting        Father, Prince of Peace.

Sunday- Abiding Worship

There is nothing more important or valuable to our lives than an essential and eternal relationship with God. Unfortunately, I have read that is there is sizable percentage of  of church- goers  who think they are  saved because they go to church when it is convenient,  and drop a $10 in the plate when it is passed,   but do not give  God much thought the rest of the week until it's time to consider  whether or not  they want to attend church the next week.   I'm afraid  I may have  a family member or  two  who live this way.  These people are the hardest to reach with the gospel because they truly believe they are ok.  I cannot imagine the horror  to think this,   But we remember  the 5 virgins who had no oil in their lamp and  were left behind on the Great Day of the Lord ( the Rapture)  when Jesus  steps out on a cloud to call His bride (  the True Church) home.

It is NOT enough  to just say  "I believe", but live your life like the dickens  or  without  much thought about  godly pursuits the rest of the week. Even the demons believe.

First of all, it is essential to  make sure you have made a confession of faith and prayed the believers prayer , to initiate your position under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, or actually    become a Christian.

  • Believer's Prayer - Thank you Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life to you and ask you to come in as my Savior and Lord. Take control of my life. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Amen

Secondly, You need to order your day to demonstrate  your love for God.  One way is to start your  day with Him.. in prayer,  Bible or devotional reading,  and  gratefulness. Many people keep a simple Gratitude Journal thanking God for His  many gifts He sends our way every day.  It could be as simple as the sunlight filtering through the leaves on a gorgeous autumn day,  or  thanking Him for  giving you the most wonderful husband  or wife, created just  for you;   large and small,  God  did it all!

I enjoy listening to  hymns or praise music  as I give Him space in my day to speak to me,  either through His Word or  even that  small still voice into my spirit.. He may be correcting me,  or  encouraging me,  but  He loves  me so much He  wants to connect with me.

The Bible tells us that Jesus is the Living water  and when we drink of it, springs of Living Water swell up in us  and   flow to our heart.. There it  helps to wash aout the evil our heart harbors,    sin,  envy, strife, trouble,  worry, etc.  ( Our hearts are exceedingly evil. (Hebrews 6:18). They can deceive us, and we do not want to be ignorant of this truth. The more we train our hearts to focus on God, the better our heart conditions will be. )The Streams of Living Water  can flow  from a believer   through the power of the Holy Spirit  in us,   that is, it is then poured out   of the believer   to do good works in the earth!.   Unfortunately,  that truth is  not  easily  recognized or   practiced  because  there is little  understanding about the Holy Spirit and I intensely pray that    your   inner spirit will  desire to  know the Holy Spirit and allow His work in your  life through His power He will enable you to use  to  do mighty  things  in the world. ( not you,  but  God in you)
One of my very favorite praise songs speaks to this and  I hope it will become one of your favorites, too.

Go, make it a great day! Thank you for visiting!
