Time to share our many blessings of the week. This week started on Sunday as we attended our wonderful church. Well, every week does, but last week was so special. We are so blessed at Green Ridge by the teaching and the glorious worship, all of which brings us to the feet of the cross! But what makes the church are the dear brothers and sisters who make up the body. We have only been a part of the church for two years, but we feel deeply connected and loved!
As this new week dawned I faced it with a bit of trepidation. I had two very important doctor appointments -Wednesday and Thursday and I dreaded both. So I spent Monday mostly doing things I loved. I decided to do some reading . I had a couple of books I had purchased a few years ago, but never got around to opening the cover. So I picked up the first one .. A Long Obedience in the Same Direction by Eugene Peterson. Oh, my goodness, what a fabulous book. Highly recommended! Besides that I was pumped up to face whatever came my way!
Tuesday was a great day, though. I had been looking forward to Tuesday for some time as my 6 Sisters had a luncheon date out at a deli. Our church assigns 6 woman to meet together for a year to get to know each other better and to pray for one another. We take turns choosing either a place to meet or have everyone in their home. I always look so forward to these outings. It truly is the best way to really get to know one another and develop loving, sisterly affection for one another! It was a lovely outing!
Wednesday, my appointment was with the cardiologist to review the report from me wearing a heart monitor for the month before. The appointment wasn’t til later in the day so I did get to read some more and do some things around the house to keep things picked up and out of the away. I ,also, unpacked my journalling bag I had taken to the beach . Now I had no excuse for doing a bit of journalling, perhaps today! At any rate my appointment turned out great. Only a couple of blips showed up on my test and I told them I was sure I probably had an emotional blip either at myself or hubby some time over the month. I mean, really! Anyway, I don’t have to return for a year! Gee, the Lord may come for us in a year!
Now Thursday, I was really dreading! My eye appointment, I have glaucoma and the beginning of macular. Well, my allergies have been frightful and my eyes have been extremely affected- sore, red, really achy, horrible headache, and bouts of dizziness! I’ve had cataract surgery so new lenses, but recently my left eye had been twitching like crazy, even the lens seemed to flicker and jump about in my eye andI had seen flashing lights. I was so dreading telling the doctor. I couldn’t believe it after he examined my eyes he just told me he saw nothing bad and that those symptoms are not bad, he hears them often from his patients. I was so grateful! I was expecting some laser surgery, etc. And the great news was my eye pressures were terrific. Reduced from 16 to 12! Thank you, Simbrenza drops!
So, now it is Friday.. I have a busy day. I am the new coordinator for bereavement meals at church and we may be planning a meal as one of our dear mothers passed yesterday. I need to get out and about to do some checking and planning, as I haven’t done one of these for some time. I am not too daunted as I was the social chairman at two large churches in my younger days. I just need to get out about out and do some checking on needs today! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
