Saturday 9

Let's join in with Sam on this one!!

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love to answer the questions, however, and here is today's questions.

Saturday 9: Every Time You Go Away (1985)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) This song is about separation. Who is the last person you said goodbye (or maybe just "so long") to?
For us as a couple we  said goodbye to  two other couples  who  went to Myrtle Beach for  two weeks..  These are friends from church  and  sad  especially   to miss them  on Wednesday dinners when we always sit together!

2) This week's featured artist, Paul Young, was a gifted athlete during his school days and briefly played professional football (aka soccer). Sam enjoys playing tennis, though her serve doesn't give Serena Williams anything to worry about. What's something you enjoy doing, even if you don't excel?
I took golf in college  and really enjoyed it.. Haven't played in some time now,  I had a good swing,  but never could hit the ball very far, so  we often played par three course..  But  I loved it!

3) Mr. Young and his wife Stacy were married for 31 years, until her death in 2018. What do you think is the key to a happy marriage?  Learning to  compromise and think of the other person's point of view,  because  over  45 years  things can change radically and  one has to be willing to flow with that change.

4) Paul Young's performance of this hit song was one of the highlights of the July 1985 Live Aid Concert. This international benefit raised more than $100 million to alleviate hunger in Ethiopia. Tell us about a charity you support.
To name one...We  support Bibles for the World and have sponsored 3 children  over time through high school in India  to  allow them  to go to  school..  They  were and are  Lal, Angela, and John!  We also support various missionaries,   as well as,  local support groups for the poor and  needy.

5) This song was written by Daryl Hall, of Hall and Oates. What's your favorite Hall and Oates song?

6) In 1985, when this song was popular, the New Coke was unsuccessfully introduced. What's the last beverage you drank?
My only beverage I like is  Dr. Pepper!!  I had one yesterday!

7) In 1985, the New York Stock Exchange had to close because of Hurricane Gloria. Has a hurricane shared your name? (Find a list of recent/upcoming storm names here.)
I have a very unstormy name!!

8) 1985 was the year that the Titanic wreckage was discovered. There have been at least 11 movies and TV shows about the fatal voyage. Have you seen any of them?

The  greatest Titanic film

9) Random question: Would you rather own and run a coffee shop or a shoe store? Why?  Change it to a Tea Room and I'm all in!!

Friday's Fave Five

Let's join Susanne with our friday's fave five!
1.

I am excited about   our new garden statuary and  bedding plants...  Since  my "kid"s live so far away I do enjoy seeing these "kid"s  playing in the garden every day!
 2.  Today I am  going to meet  a group of friends  for lunch  at  a favorite  restaurant...
Image result for plantation at sunnybrook
I can already attest that  a grand time was held by all!!!
3.  One of the things that  I am so pleased about  in my own  initiative is  that  here it is  the end of April and I am still excited about my daily Bible reading.  I am doing  a new  format.
Through this plan I have already read through
Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Matthew, Mark, Luke John, and into the Psalms, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, Proverbs, into Ecclesiastes, Acts, Romans,I and II Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Colossians, I and II Thessalonians, I and II Timothy.  I read    from 4 sections of the Bible daily  but what makes it easier and fun for me is I use my  rad aloud Bible  and follow along  which isn't so tiring...  I have to say Leviticus has been  hard because it is pretty repetitive but it readily drives home to me the  idea of   atonement by blood!I  have gained so much spiritual insight  by doing this  each day!
4.
This precious  little doodle bug is our youngest granddaughter ,  age 3,  and  so  smart and  happy.   Such a delight, but the last couple of days she has been  a pretty sick little girl...    a terrible stomach virus and  complete lethargy..  I am asking all to say for prayer  for our little VIV!
5.
We just  have the best time lately..  thank  the Good Lord for our health,  strength, and vitality  to enjoy  this life!!!

Farewell

After  17 years of   blogging  I am  pretty sad to  just fade  out  with  hardly  anyone showing any   farewell,  concern  about my  surger...
