Sunday Stealing

Hosted by  Bev Sykes of the blog "Funny the World". .

These are questions suggested by Markandangel

If you could instill one piece of advice in a newborn baby’s mind, what advice would you give?
Seek to know  Jesus Christ in  a personal relationship.

What is the most desirable trait another person can possess?
Humility and good will

What are you most grateful for?
my life in Jesus

Is stealing to feed a starving child wrong?
My first thought was of a Dickens's  tale of a starving boy  stealing a loaf of bread  and,  of course , I'd  say  no,      because the class system in Britain at the time created the   problem of poverty to a great extent..  But  actually, Id say it would have to be determined by  what caused the poverty and    what  steps had been taken prior to    the stealing to rectify the situation, but no a child should not be allowed to starve to death, in HMO.

What do you want most?
Peace and loving kindness for all  (Heaven)

Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
I'd have to say doing the right things, as well as I can

What has life taught you recently?
The importance of humility  for those in authorityas well as  those  at the  bottom

What is the one thing you would most like to change about the world?
The concept where  national leaders  rule with absolute authority.. to me that brings on more suffering and  hardship.

Where do you find inspiration?
Bible, nature, music

Can you describe your life in a six word sentence?
Living the true meaning of love

If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make a mistake?
The natural man inside of us  is seeking acclaim and honor. ... that is the side of me that I am trying to squelch

What impact do you want to leave on the world?
I'd like to be remembered as  the  grandma  who loved unconditionally

What is the most defining moment of your life thus far?
The afternoon I was left sitting in my car   thinking  that all was lost,  money, home,  value to the community,    due to  a circumstance completely out of our control and  I was so low  I could only look up and give it all to God.. He took it and turned it around    and  gave back  everything  that was  threatened. But gave me  so much more..  Limitless faith!

In the haste of your daily life, what are you not seeing?
How  God 's provision is  in everything and  therefore we should be continually joyful in all things!

If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
Paul told us    in  the Bible we do that which we shouldn't and don't do that which we should..  it is all due to our sin and  that part of the world we cling to....  Sometimes it take nearly a lifetime to let go  of  the  things we should.

What lifts your spirits when life gets you down?
Hearing my daughter's voice on the phone.  She is the light of our world.  Being adopted I  think God gave her to us especially to  demonstrate His great love for us.. Everyone says Amanda lights up a room...  Her smile is so amazing..  I do not mean to glorify her,  but  it is her gift to  be  uplifting!

Have you ever regretted something you did not say or do?
Yes

Has your greatest fear ever come true?
No,  and I pray it never does

Why do we think of others the most when they’re gone?
Because the finality of the thing... We take for granted  others  while we have them...  human nature isn't very pretty

What is your most beloved childhood memory?
Sitting on my front steps singing a love song to God for the beauty of the world. There is more to that but I will savor it!

Saturday 9

Shake It Off

Welcome to Saturday: 9.
 Hosted by Sam!
Shake It Off (2014)

Unfamiliar with this week's song. Hear it here.
Most any song of the 60's and early 70's .
1) This song makes Crazy Sam want to dance. What song inspires you to get on your feet?

2) Paul McCartney met Taylor Swift at the SNL 40 Anniversary special and told her he really enjoys playing and singing this song. What's the last song you sang along with?
I sing along with  just about any  Goldie Oldie rock song I hear on the radio...  gee, I  cannot think of the last one,,,  I think it may have been  The Year of the Cat yesterday... mind you, I didnt know all the lyrics,  just  some of them.

3) The lyrics tell us Swift "shakes off" nasty gossip and unfair criticism. What about you? Do you worry about what others think of you?
Not really... I used to  way back in jr high and high school,  but not anymore!

4) Her parents are big music fans, and were going to name their baby (boy or girl) "Taylor" after their favorite artist, James Taylor. Can you think of a singer that your mom and/or dad really enjoyed?
HaHa, my dad  really like Crystal Gayle  and any country singer.  Mother  liked Dean Martin and Nat King Cole, and oh, how could I forget.. She loved to dance to  Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs, to Woolly Bully!

5) She grew up on an 11-acre Christmas tree farm. Do you get a fresh tree every year, or do you have an artificial tree, or do you not put up a tree at all?
When Amanda was with us we had a live tree every year,    or  when they are here for Christmas  which isn't  very often now,  so we go  light and easy on Christmas, although I do  decorate  a lot compared to my friends!

6) Taylor Swift is 5'10". According to the CDC, the average American woman is 5'4" while men are, on average, 5'9". Are you taller or shorter than average?
I am taller .

7) She enjoys good, old fashioned mysteries, especially those by Agatha Christie. Are you currently reading a book for pleasure?
Yes.  A trilogy of books about the Shetland Islands off the coast of Scotland.

8) Her brother Austin is a freelance photographer who took the official pictures for her 2008 concert tour. Who took the last photo of you?
I suppose it was Hubs  when we were eating out to celebrate my birthday.

9) Random question: What's your go-to comfy outfit?
PJ's and a terry cloth robe..

948. I  am praising the Lord for  our dear daughter on this  Daugther's Day.. She is trusting God about the mosquito  virus  so prevalent  in their community..She has given her fears to Jesus and is  showing her children how to be  responsible in  preparing them well to  go outside in the middle of the day to enjoy  God's  beautiful creation   so they do not learn to be fearful  but  not to be rectless either..  Amanda dresses them well and takes every precaution  with  Deet etc...   and prays  for God to protect them all. They live  in  a red critical area!
949. This has been a   good week for me..  On Monday I saw the Orthopedic doctor..  first time for me...   With my poor mother it was a monthly  trip..  I was diagnosed with a tear of both meniscus's of the knees...  He set me up for  phyiscal therapy and I started on Wedsenday. I really like my therapist  and I am hopeful this is a  new beginning for me..the strengthening exercises  can only benefit me and I must be brave and keep them up  for my own good! I admit I have become rather  lazy  in  the last  months!

950.  I really  know God is working on my behalf to  get ready perhaps for the work He has planned for me...  I am signed up for a great  Bible Study  on the book, Lose it For Life  where we  work on  healing for our eating,  spiritual,  pyschological problems  with a holistic approach  the teacher is a fabulous  prayer warrior and good friend of mine..  I am anxious for the classes to start  but it is the last half of Oct.  So I am reading the 500 page book now!

951.I was one sad puppy  about a year ago when I realized I had lost the  storage bag I had put all of my favorite cd's in to travel to Boston. The only thing I know is I must have left it in a hotel room...  bahhhh,   but  yesterday I discovered  a long while back I had   uploaded  many of those same cd's onto my computer.. I had just  accidently opened the windows media player and there they were! I was going to create  copied discs  so as not to  scratch the originals  but I never got around to creating them..  My newest cd's weren't  on there  but a goodly number of my favorites are!  Praise the Lord!!

to name a few!

952.  Last night at  Bible Study/Prayer meeting we had the most precious prayer time...  We prayed through the whole time in small groups.  And it was wonderful how everyone  prayed.. I love being part of a prayerful church. Thank you Jesus for leading us to this new   group of believers.. Your mercies are new every day!

953.  So I did my first round of  exercises in bed this morning and whew, I can tell  I need them  and I will probably be getting rather sore..  God, give me the impetus and strength to persevere for me and for You!!

Tuesday 4

Hosted by Toni!

Just Thought I'd Ask

1. Have you ever spent ages writing something on your computer when it suddenly crashed and you lost it all?:
Yes, and  I was  completely undone...  but then praise God somehow I found it again!

2. Are you one of those people who can sleep through anything?:
Nope!Alas, not!

3. What type or kind of art do you like? And do you draw or paint yourself:
I do love to oil paint-Impressionistic style,  but I do like for it to be realistic looking  so one definitely knows what it is! When I  visit art museums I love the highly  realistic  pastorale  scenes and  people historical paintings of  life in the past including people and  the environs. One of my favorite museums is the Boston
Museum of Fine Arts

4. If you went to London, where would you go first?:
Kensington Palace

But truth be told,my dream England tour doesn't include London.  Too much more to be seen!
