culture, ideologies,  which are attacking our children, families, schools/
universities, businesses, and  the church,  we are beginning a season of
weekly spiritual warfare..  our battle is not against men, but spiritual
entities in the heavenlies.

Saturday was the keystone 5 K   race.  Our church  supports the
Keystone center that  aids inner city children and famiies.
Here you see Some guys from church... Richard, David, and
  my Lynn!

We were there to offer  battled water  to the runners... Here
the first  runner just  won the race at 16.3 minutes.  It was
such a cool, overcast morning,    it was perfect for the run!

♥♥Something I want to share♥♥
This afternoon we are taking my homemade baked
beans that are still cooking in the crockpot pot and
going up on the mountain to celebrate Memorial Day
with our best friends.  this has been our habit for
several years and we look so forward to it every year.
There are several neighbors up there who set off
really nice fireworks which adds to the celebration!

♥♥Devotional, inspirational, prayer list or Bible verse♥♥
I have been going to Intercessors for America now
for  about 10 years... feeling all the time that America needed
so much prayer and we  prayed so, for  deliver-
ance for our  nation,  for its culture,   for the decline in so
many areas,  now  against racism,  criticalrace theory in
our schools, abortion, just everything. We worship and pray
every week, but lately the Spirit is leading us  to be more quiet.
To listen to the small, voice of God.  Oh, how we have been praying
for discernment to hear correctly, and pray in His will.We are all
convinced that God has this, even though,
it doesn look  right in our  natural eyes, but He is  mightily at work
bringing  everything into alignment.  Now here is  the thing.
It is very likely that what He is bringing into existence will not be
exactly what we had been praying for the last 10 years.
But  it is  whahe is  doing in this time  on His calendar. So
we are praying for us, His children,  to  eat more of His Word,
understand His ways more, even though they a re much higher
than our ways  and prepareour hearts for what  He is  doing..
Soak in the first chapter of James.Build  ourselves up in His
truth and  be strong in His Word! Pray for the church... to wake
up and truly desire  more of God. The days of playing
church are behind us... We are entering into a  spiritual battle
and a shaking....Christians and those who call themselves
Christians, but are not  lit by the  Spirit of God  will be  set apart..
This could be a final wake up call for those whoare not fully awake...

Friday's Fave 5

Hosted by Susanne!

It  has been  wonderful to see  so many return to  in person  church.  Our church is very small,  ony about  50  on roll.  During covid   we  nmbered about 12-15  who were faithfully attending once things began to open .  Finally  in the last week we are seeing  our  numbers  almost back to normal, especially during our  Wednesday night prayer meeting!

We actually had 15  present,  this was  9 more than the usual 6.  We  bless one another in our presence!

I have been  a bit    out of commision around the house  lately with  severe  allergies and  and  concerns  with my    deep dry cough  that  I see the enterologist    about soon...  but hubs has been  such a trouper!! He  has  vaccuumed the whole house, cleaned the bathrooms thoroughly, and  jsut been  awesome.  He blesses me everyday!

Each week the rose garden  just keeps giving..  I must go out and  get  some clioping for the hose today because the rain, (Praise God ) is coming!

I have been  rather consumed with    a new initiative, God  has placed in my heart.  I  am beginning a new prayer meeting at our church  this Monday morning.  I had been doing a book study on Derek Prince's  amazing book,

Because the state of the nation and the world  has changed  so dramatically,  ....  the call for the church to arise has been resounding and  churches everywhere  need to be  opposing the work of the enemy   that is seeking to rob, steal, and destroy our child, families, the church and our  nation!
We have been invited  once again up to  Gerri and David's for our Annual  Memorial Day  cook out.  This will be the  7th one  we have  had and  it  is a huge blessing for us all. G and D  live up  on a mountian  and they have the most gorgeous inside / outdoor room  that  is so  pleasant   in the summer.. I am thinking about  making  a baked bean   dish from scratch, using   dry beans   and my own  sauce..  I found a  great recipe   that I   am thinking to use..  If I do I'll share about it next week!

Thursday Favorite Things

Hosted by Amber .

I haven't really created a TFT post for some time...  but today it kept crying out to me.  SInce we are coming up on a wonderful  holiday  that holds  such marvelous memories for me.. I was feeling inspired!  I grew up going to   Grandma's on Memorial Day to celebrate  Decoration Day.  It was   the day we honored those of the clan who had passed on before us, especialy those  who had served  our country well!  The weekend began with us cousins walking the  country road  picking wildflowers all along the way.  Black-eyed susans,  Queen Anne's Lace,  Sweet peas,  and   chickory lent their  grace to  to    the  flowers  that grandma gathered from her garden .  With these we created several  baskets of flowers to place on the  dear  family members  graves at our  family  plots!

I really miss gathering such gorgesous wild flowers.

I would like to  honor my  wonderful grand father,  who  lived on  to the ripe age of 88, but he served his country  valiantly   in France during  WWI.

I do not have photo  but Lynn''s father who  served  on several fronts,  He served in France,  Italy, and North Africa during WW2.  We were  blessed  that they did return home  to live out the rest of their lives and enjoy  their families, but  these wars certainly had taken a great part of these men in exchange for their heroism!

And we remember  each year!

The gardens are glorious  at this time of year!!!

So this   glorious season is  a time to  reflect,  remember,   all  loved ones  who  went befofe us  and    to  enjoy the many blessings taht their lives  provided and continue ot provide for us..   May we never lose  the  freedoms and    precious  country  they  fought so  bravely to secure!

Tuesday 4

Spending Time...  hosted by Sandi!

This week let's talk about spending time

1.Are you currently reading a book you'd like to tell us about?

Maybe a TV program you can recommend to us?   I recently finished

My daughter had read this book in a Book Club  in her community  and   when she found a
copy for sale on a book table in her church she got it for me  for Mother's Day.   Let me
preface this by saying  this is a book I would probably never choose to read  from the get go.
But even though it is  a raw rendering of life in Appalachia,  it was such a page turner, full of
every emotion,  from joy to violence.  Very interesting and compelling read!

2. Are you a Jane Austen fan? So many seem to be. If you are, what is your favorite book and
who is your favorite character. If you aren't a fan, is there an author you especially like to read?
Favorite character..etc?I do love Jane Austen  and  fell in love with Pride and Prejudice in high
school. Of course, I loved  Elizabeth and Darcy!
Another series I  absolutely  love to read now is by Lynn Kurland..  She writes time travel, and
the   travel  occurs between medieval to modern times.  There are two clans of families in-
volved over the several books,  the Macleads and the Piaget's.   Her Nine Kingdom series has
never appealed to me..  To fanciful!  My favorite book from the MacLead book is
A Dance Through Time   THis is waht got me hooked   oon her books..  Ive read  both series  over and over again!!

3. How do you spend your time during the day? Do you set apart time to read, watch
TV, study?
I enjoy reading,  watching youtube vlogs,   and doing Bible Study.

4. Have your beliefs changed in your life time? New religion.. new politics?Or are they
the same as they were growing up? I have always been a protestant, but over my years
as a Christian I have changed quite a bit in my understanding. I was raised a sessationist
who was taught that the gifts of  God's Spirit had ceased and did not apply today.  To me
that is a heretical  point of view. We need those gifts of the Spirit more now than ever
before and praise God they are operational in those who  pray for them.  In those days
the teaching also  was that of a prederist that taught that after  Christianity came into
being  God  was essentially finished with Israel. I think this is a horrible view point. Jeru-
salem has always been  center stage for God and will always be!  His people  have an
ever-lasting covenant and we Christians  enjoy  being grafted into  God's family with them!
Do you spend time thinking over the important things of life to take stock in your life?
Absolutely.. Study to show thyself approved..

Thanks for coming by.

Wednesday Hodge Podge

From this Side of the Pond                              Hosted by Joyce!

1. Realist, idealist, optimist, pessimist...which one are you? Elaborate. I guess I am a realist... I used to be  more   idealistic,  but  when I consider what I believe to be a huge decline  in our culture,   I  can only pray and  hope it is  the Lord's will to bring  bring about   positive change.  I think it all depends on His calendar  and where we are on His time table..

2. What's something currently on your wish list?   MY  good health.  I  went to the doctor for help  with my  allergies  that just didnt seem to be improving and my allergist  was  concerned that my continuing cough was not allergy related but    aranged for me to have  a chest ex ray today.  Now we are  thinking it may be esophageal in nature...   Praying God's best outcomer for me!

3. Three things on this week's shopping list? Gee, I havent made up a grocery list yet this week!

4. According to Trip Advisor here's a list of the top ten things to do in the US this summer-

Chicago Architecture River CruiseSkip the Line Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Tour, New York In A Day  guided sightseeing tour, Charleston's Old South Historic Horse and Carriage tourGrand Canyon helicopter tourFull day iconic sights of LA, Beverly Hills, Beaches and more, D.C. at Dusk guided night tour, Beneath the Streets Underground History tour (Seattle)New Orleans Swamp and Bayou Boat tour, Gangsters and Ghosts tour in Chicago...read more about each excursion in the link here.

Of the ten attractions listed which do you find most appealing? Have you already experienced anything on this list? Most of them do no  appeal to me. The one that does  I have already done three times  with different people.... I love Charleston and their Historic Home and Carriage Ride.

5. Besides home and work where do you spend the most time? At church.

6. Insert your own random thought here.   I am  beginning  a concerted prayer group  at church  that will meet  maybe twice a month to  do Spiritual warfare  in opposition of  the evil that is behind    what plagues our nation's culture,    education, government, entertainment, well, just about everything.  I wouldn't be surprised that the enemy is attacking me to get me to stop  my plans..  But I will not be deterred. He is a defeated foe and his lies do not phase me.. As a prayer warrior in Intercessors for America  I have seen too many times his lame attempts to thwart  prayer.

Saturday 9

Hosted by Samantha!

Don't Get Around Much Anymore

Welcome to Saturday 9
Saturday 9: Don't Get Around Much Anymore (1942)

Unfamiliar with this song? Hear it here.

1) In this song, our lonely Romeo shares how he amuses himself these days. Which of the activities that he mentions have you most recently enjoyed: playing solitaire, reading a book, or listening to the radio?I actually enjoy all of them.  I do play Spider Solitaire often on my tablet,  especially in the middle of the night  when I awaken and  cannot get back to sleep!  I  love  books,,  just havent really had the time to devote  to many reads lately.  I  love to listen to the radio,  playlists, and  sirius radio, boohoo we only have  one more month free after purchasing our new car...  how can I convince Hubs,,,,,

2) The lead singer is tenor Bill Kenny. Which range is your voice: soprano, alto, tenor or bass?  I am  a soprano.

3) When Bill was on vacation in Atlantic City, he entered a series of talent contests and won 21 of 22. This led to his first professional booking. Tell us about a vacation of yours that took an unexpected turn.  The only hting I can think of is when I turned 18,  our family and other family members went camping at Myrtle Beach.  I    sat under a beach umbrella the first day and  awakened that first night in agony.  I had  severe  sun poisoning and  almost ended up in the hospital.  I had to vow that I wouldn't see the light of day the rest of the week,  but commit my time at the beach in our tent!    Horrid!

4) This song was composed by Duke Ellington. He received many honors, including a coin struck in his honor. In 2009, he graced the District of Columbia's commemorative quarter. Do you save coins in a jar or piggy bank?  Nope!

5) In 1976, Stevie Wonder recorded a tribute to Ellington called "Sir Duke." What's your favorite Stevie Wonder song?

6) The lyrics were written by Bob Russell. When he began his career, he shared an apartment with future novelist and TV screenwriter Sidney Sheldon. Have you ever tried your hand at writing lyrics, a novel or a screenplay?  No

7) In 1942, when this record was released, the federal government established a rationing system to conserve crucial supplies for our troops. Sugar was the first food to be rationed, followed by coffee and then meat. If you were around back then, which of those items do you think you'd miss the most?  Probably sugar... then meat

8) Also in 1942, actor/singer Peter Tork was born. Without looking it up, do you know why Peter Tork was famous?  Loved him!!  My favorite Monkey!!!
https://youtu.be/9iybWxjCw1g

9) Random question -- Have you ever deliberately lost a game?  Oh, yeah,  hasnt every mother?

Tuesday 4 Summertime

Summer Time!

Welcome! We remember Toni Taddeo with her Tuesday 4... Hosted by Annie!

Let's discuss summer this week...

1. What emotions and feelings does summer conjure up for you?As a past teacher,  summer  meant respite and time of  regrouping. Even though I' ve been retired for  a long time. (18 years!)  I still  feel  the same about summer!

2. What's summer weather like in your neck of the woods?  Well, it can be  wonderful,  fresh,  clear, and  just dreamy, but it seems that  lately  summers are so hot and humid  I stay indoors  most of the time.  I detest humidity!

3. Got some special summer meals you and your family enjoy?

We eat a lot of salads  during the summer.    I buy tons of fruits and  mix them up in drinks and   various  menus. We eat  foods that are  mainly refrigerated like cole slaw, macaroni salad,  chicken salad.  etc. I  do not particularly like to cook big meals  in the summer..!!

4. What do you enjoy doing in summer? Sports, trips.. do you go on vacation?  Last year we planned our trip to Ireland but we didnt get to go..   I believe  we have put it off til next summer.  Our daughter is doing the planning!  We do not  do beach trips in the summer...  way too hot and  crowded.  I love  spring trips  just like the one we  took last month!  We like to have friends over  for  a cook out  but we generally eat in the house    where it is cool! If we plan a trip it would be  to the mountians where we have many family  members  we love to visit.  Every other year  we have  spent one vacation going to  see our  daughter and grands..  last year we saw them once   when they travelled here in July.  We  facetime, praise God,  and this year they are coming again  in August.. We plan to  spend  some time during the holidays with them.  Drat, drat, drat this  pandemic!

If you live near your  children, praise the Lord  for such mercy..   It is so hard  to see our girls grow up  before us on  the computer screen!
