Tuesday 4
Which One?
Which one do you prefer?
1. Picnic by the water or backyard BBQ? I love a picnic by the lake!
2. Spring or Autumn? Got reasons?
This one is hard because I love them both.. reasons
- it isn't hot, but mild and wonderful
- we get to keep the upstairs windows open at night
- the colors are magnificent
- both make me very contemplative, and I love writing in my journal
- they each had their own special outside activities that make me smile
3. Cup of Tea or Cup of Coffee? 'splain it to us Lucy... if you don't mind! I love tea, but there is nothing better than that first cup of coffee in the morning. Tea is for sharing with a friend, usually served with something delicious, or served with a wonderful book. Coffee puts a zing in my step and helps set the mood for the day!
4. A weekend at home or one spent out and about?I love a weekend out and about. They come all too rarely these days.. But something special is coming up this weekend! Our 50th Anniversary!

My responses to the Comments
I am so sorry my system will not allow me to comment on posts. I have tried everything I know to do to fix this but it just doesn’t work. So I do desire to respond to your very uplifting comments.
Sue and Faith, We could not be happier in our new church. Our pastor is so wonderful. He really cares for each person who walks in the door. He greeted us on our first day, and his caring personally was so evident. I was going through my gall bladder problem at the time and I felt perfectly at ease speaking to him about it and he prayed with me and was faithful to follow up. We joined about a month ago and we really feel we have found a precious family there. We are blessed.
Wendy, Joy, Suzanne, Linda, Karen, Jean, Monique, Luludou, and Kirstin, interestingly last fall through the terrible time of my gall bladder problem that continued for 2 months, I thought a lot about this home project. It helped give me a focus and something to look forward to. It all started watching the Christmas hallmark movies which I love. I was taken by the beautiful homes which to me were as meaningful as the players. I noticed so very many of them had a lot of rooms that were painted a very light blue and I fell in love. Thus the idea of painting the downstairs was birthed. Interest ly, it took me probably a month to pick the right blue because it was very light. I finally chose Behr’s Era which is very light blue in the morning, but as the day wears on becomes richer and richer and I love it!So we started painting around Valentine’s Day and so far we have finished the living room, dining room, kitchen and the walls of the hall. The hall has 5 doorways but 3 doors. That is going to hang up the flow of painting. The last room is the den. We are introducing a new color there. We have a wall of bookcases surrounding a double hung window and window seat over the radiator. I am very excited about the color we chose! But the den will be the most difficult room, wall paper border, and figuring out how to disassemble the radiator cover to make a much more efficient screen for allowing heat to escape. But I am thrilled to be this far along!
Dear friends, I appreciate so much your words of concern and comfort for me. Yes, Remarkably, I have had seemingly one thing after another since lockdown. My take on this is I’m undergoing spiritual warfare. I am a prayer warrior. I say this because Lynn and I have met just about every week to pray with an amazing prayer team. I also attend weekly a Bible Study on the Minor Prophets as we study what to expect during the “last days”. My study leader and prayer leader is one in the same an amazing missionary who just returned from a 2 week trip to the Congo where he was encouraging the pastors there. But he is also our weekly prayer leader for Intercessors for America group. There we pray for our communities, our nation, the church, schools, our leaders, the world situation our culture, etc. When all my strange ailments became so rampant he told me Satan was afraid of the woman you are becoming! His wife, Nita, is the same ..has one thing right after another, but we cannot allow it to take us down. I know God is with me and will see me through or take me home. But as I remain He is preparing me for more he has for me. I truly believe this and so I can persevere to look forward to the day!
I love blogging, and getting to know you dear ladies. It is my favorite outlet. Blessings to you all, love Carolyn

Wednesday Hodge Podge
2. Have you ever been to Rome? If so what do you love about the city? If not, any desire to go?I have not been to Rome, and actually, it is not on my list!
3. What's your favorite place to 'roam'? I love the countryside. I love to drive around on unknown roads just to see where they take us. If I went to England I much prefer the countryside to any major city! I am looking so forward to our Scotland trip this summer. And we are sticking mainly to the lesser known areas.
4. Do you like pizza? I do to some degree..Thick or thin crust? I prefer thin crust.Red sauce-white sauce-other? Red sauce!Your favorite toppings? I love onions, bell pepper, but not green, bacon or ham. I love lots of cheese, but I do not like very hot and spicy toppings! How do you feel about pineapple on a pizza? Not for me!
5. 'Rome wasn't built in a day'...tell us how this expression applies to something in your home-life-job currently (or recently)? Well, our home refresh, definitely. All last fall I dreamed of the new year. We would paint the living room, buy a few new pieces, then move on to the dining room .. the same color. Then we came to the kitchen. This room has been a struggle. Our cabinets were painted in 2005 when we did a sort of remodel. We put in granite, bought new appliances and we put new cabinet doors on our nice but plain solid wood units. a few units had to be restructured to fit the overall look and we had the opposite wall done with a granite desk area for my computer and upper and lower cabinets made to finish the project. The wall color and border stayed the same. Well, I chose colors that Behr paint said went well with Rolling Pebble our cabinets. And we bought a gallon of the wall paint , but it just didn't work. After one coat we could tell it was just too close to the crown moulding white and looked sickly. All wasn't lost because we needed a second coat of paint to cover that deep red. So we went a few shades darker. And one thing about using the computer to check the color, it looked much darker online than it does on the wall but I like it. It looks like a coffee latte color which goes well in a kitchen! And it looks well with the granite! The paint is finished now except Lynn wants to go back and touch up a couple places tomorrow. I am anxious to hang the artwork and some English transfer ware plates.I am especially looking forward to reclaiming my dining room table. But that isn't all!
Next we have to paint the small square hall in the middle of the house. It would be easy, except there are three doors, plus 2 more entrances with moulding so that will take at least two or three weeks, Mainly because I had my biopsy on my nose yesterday and I expect to be going to UVA for corrective surgery following my MOH's in Charlottesville, perhaps next week!
Then, we have the den to paint. That room has a whole wall of bookshelves which re now painted white, but I have picked Winter in Paris as my paint color!
We do have wall paper border in there around the ceiling so I cannot help with that! I had originally thought we could get this all done in about 6 weeks. I think it will probably owe twice that long! Sigh!
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Nothing left to say! Except be blessed and have a great St. Paddy's Day!!
