♥♥ Thinking and pondering ♥♥
This is finally the week that the den is essentially finished. What I mean by that is the rug will be  relaid and the  furniture placed.  Lynn tells me  there may a tad of a tweak here and there, as time goes on,   but believe me, he is ready for this job to be completed!

♥♥ As I look outside my window ♥♥
The school yard across the street is   full of  children,   so happily   climbing on  the   apparatuses,   sliding down the boards, and the teachers are wearing their new fall sweaters on  this beautiful  autumn day.   The sun is lower on the horizon  this sunshiny day, and even  at 11:42 am  the shadows  are spreading  across  our lawn. I love it!

♥♥ How am I feeling ♥♥
Except for  my usual aches and stiffness  every morning,  and my  never ending allergies,  it is a grand day!

♥♥ On the breakfast plate ♥♥
Hubs brought me my first cup of coffee  and fruited yogurt early this morning, as usual...  is he a doll or what? Then I had my second cup of coffee and a buttered English muffin with apple butter   a while ago!
♥♥ On my reading pile ♥♥
Hip Hip Hurray!
I finish 2 Chronicles today and start in on Ezra! I continue to read Gentle and Lowly,  The Heart of Christ for sinners and sufferers
by Dane Ortlund.  This book you just dont hurry through,  but savor every chapter!  I picked up another book at the Women's Conference   written by Keith and Kristyn Getty, entitled, SING! How Worship Transforms Your Life

♥♥ On my TV this week ♥♥
I have had a hard time finding anything of interest on TV except on Hallmark  Mysteries and Movies,  I  fell in love with the Irish   tale,  Love's Portrait.  It was  just  so  sweet and the acting, I think is so  real;  the expressions and the   deep feelings. I  may have written this before,  but to tell you the truth,  if I can't find anything I like I watch my tape of this...  very often and it is interesting to  see the smallest details   in a film...  the pictures on the wall even    go along with the story line.  I think I will go back and watch all my favorites  several times and watch for the minute details!

♥♥ Looking around the house ♥♥

I need to dust, vacuum, and mop  the floors   on the downstairs,   and put some clothes away up stairs.

♥♥ From the camera ♥♥
 Left wall  of the den

                                      bookcase wall of the den

Back window of the den

The den as a whole
SOOOOO happy to have this room complete, well, except for the shutters but that is a while from now!

♥♥ Devotional ♥♥
I have mentioned   in my  weekly  posts  the Proverbs 31 woman.,  If you do not know   what that is    I  copied this fromwww.moneywisesteward.com/proverbs-31-woman/
Who is the Proverbs 31 Woman?

The Proverbs 31 Woman is a woman of noble character.  She is a hard-working woman who honors God. She’s not perfect so her qualities are achievable.

She has a reverent fear of the Lord and gains wisdom from God of the life she should lead. She isfearless, trustworthy, diligent, generous, and kind. She is a good steward of everything in her life and allowed God to lead her in her marriage.

Autumn This & That

Hosted by Annie!

It's time again for Tuesday 4 held in memory of Toni Taddeo it's founder and previous host.   Thank you so much for joining in and helping to keep this alive. It is much appreciated.

It's Autumn and temperatures in many places will be going down, days will be shorter and leaves will be tumbling down.

Let's discuss these things.

1. Do lower temperatures bother you or make you uncomfortable and are you more of a warm climate person?  Not at all, I love  lowering temperatures, even unto  wintry days! The humid, hot days of summer  are my bane. (woe)!

2.  Do you like the colors associated with Autumn. Clothing wise do they look good on you?  I do love the  warm colors of Autumn,  but I am a summer  girl when it comes to coloring.  So  I may not look  too great, so I try to  wear more the muted  autumn colors,  nothing to orange or gold. For example , I recently bought a gorgeous  Mandarin  colored  jacket for fall!

3. Would you rather:…

  •   … get lost in a corn maze or go on a hayride?
  • … visit an apple orchard or a pumpkin patch ?
  •  … eat a caramel apple or  a candy apple?
  •  …Cinnamon buns or Pumpkin muffins?
4. There are 7,500 varieties  of apple.  What is your favorite and do you like apple pie?  Last week we  were  purchasing some  autumnal  items  at  a  market  selling pumpkins,  mums, some baked goods, and  they had  Golden Delicious apples which are not readily available  around here any more.  We used to  love them. So we bought a few  and I am anxious to go back and get more.  Usually, we buy Honey Crisp or Gala. Being  a quasi farm girl..  Both my parents hailed from farm country  and  my grandma's  dried their apples and made  fabulous  fried apple pies and  other apple dishes..  I  just  am not into  baking    any more.    Besides apple pies are  pretty sweet.  I  need to watch my sugar, but I love them!

Hosted by Susanne!
My life has really changed in the last couple of weeks   due to  a spiritual assignment  from the Lord.  I had been praying   for a long time about the state of the church  in the world today...  for example, I heard just today that   in Britain there are 47 different religions being practiced.. Obviously people are hungry  for meaning,  connection, and  spiritual life,   but they  are seeking those things in the wrong place.  God in my quiet time spoke to my heart.  Suddenly I knew I had to stop blogging as I had  done  since 2008 and  blog for Him.  I know I have  acquired  an audience  from around the world, even though many people never respond  to me in  writing, but  blogger map would show me  viewers from Europe and  the  east. So I felt  I must  make a radical change. I gave over  6 days of the week to the Lord and  kept Saturday for my regular  blogging updates.   And thankfully  my  old blogging friends have  responded well to  this!

In the process of  making this change, I have  grown so much in my spiritual walk.  I am much more discerning  in   what  and how I post things. As I am really attempting to speak  in  the nature of our Lord, being His representative makes for  much more   preceptive thinking and writing.  In doing that I feel that clarity has  spread over my own thinking about my Christianity and that  it s a great thing.

I spend a lot of time  seeking  just the right   information on line to share  with the readers   to help promote their interest, desire, and motivation to seek  a better a relationship with God.  I apply things that  offers  the helps they need  so they do not have to spend time looking things up,  but I am basically giving the tools to accomplish the things I am suggesting to them; for example,   after a very moving  video by Joni Tada,   about how she prays the  promises of God  in  her  weaknesses and  trials,   I give  the readers  3 promises each day to add to their list  to  keep, to read, memorize, and pray back to God!  This has helped me exponentially!  They always say the teacher learns more than the students and that is so true!

Apart from that  I am so  gloriously happy to announce  some really great news  from my health perspective. I had two  medical appts this week that had me  somewhat  dismayed. One was my Opthomologist  been  showing concern regarding my glaucoma  and had me come in for  a battery of tests..  I hate that visual field test.. I pasted them all glowingly.. Thank you, Lord!!!! Also,  one of my cat scans form last spring showed I had something on my kidneys   which  my doctor felt needed to be addressed.  I finally got in to see the urologist this week.    They were nothing more than cysts..  nothing at all to ever be concerned about!  Those are such precious words to hear from a specialist! God is sooo very good!

I pray that continues ; I have a mammogram and colonoscopy scheduled for this month!  It seems once you  round the corner  of those decades after 50,  and believe me, they  come around  so  quickly it is very hard to   comprehend..   these medical appointments  seem to carry different meanings.  Each one that  ends well   is  a triumph for the Lord.   Thank you, God for  caring about Your children and   being with us during the good and  not so good times!!

A real blessing for us  this week,  after months of   hard work for   mainly my poor husband, our  lower level of our home is finally  all redone.  We spent the fist part of the year painting and redoing the  living room and dining room.   When You  change a wall color  it takes much refiguring   on  how the decor  should change as well.  The woodwork  took the longest.  My dear husband is a perfectionist  and  he works very methodically  and the translates ,   SLOWLY! But it always looks amazing.  this week He finally finished the den ;    which involved  a lot of  ripping out of  cabinetry and  restyling  things..  tons of  refiguring,    and  redoing.    but I love the finished product.  Photos are   shown  up in the first  post   act the top of the page.   but I will show a few before and after here.

Before  kitchen walls were maroon and there
 was paper border.

Den was maroon with  built in shelves and seating over the radiator which made for a very cold room in winter.
The  before living room  with the  creamy wheat walls.

The connecting  dining room with the same  walls.

The After Photos
After kitchen  walls  now  off white with  trim same color as cabinets.

After dining room  now with blue walls.
And living room. .. this was over Easter when our girls were with us!!  And, of course, I was telling  some big tale!!! hahaha

After photo of the den  with  tan walls and  teal bookcase .. no  built in seat  and white trim.  Soon  there will be plantation shutters!  Our daughter  has told us  not to  put the sofa  back in there so it is now in the sunroom!

Weekend, Faith in Action a Very Power Message. please take time to listen!

This week we were watching  Pastor Allen Jackson on YouTube and he had a fabulous guest speaker. A man  who has lived through and understands the depth of just how far America has lost it’s identity and shares what we need to do if we want our country back.  It will not be easy, especially if only a few make the changes he suggests, but it can be done with a revival of Christians standing up for their God given rights and reclaiming all that has been lost!  I urge you to watch this video. It picks up at 33 min into the stream. Then it is a very moving 53 min of awesome teaching . Please listen  to this whole , inspiring message!

Remember start at 33 min and please give your attn to the rest of the video. It is extremely important about how we must change in order to bring back the America we love, because powerful forces are out to destroy  our nation! I am listening again, this time with my journal and pen in hand!

I removed the rest of today’s post to give you pause to consider all you have heard!

Promises of God*

Prayerfully Praising God to Fill Our Soul

Let us continue to pray for those affected by Ian. Lord, have mercy on those in harm’s way and if it is you will change the course safely out to sea, in Jesus name!

Prayerfully Praising God to Fill your Soul

Rejoice and give thanks  to  our multifaceted Go, may He  be magnified in praise  and glory!

Dear Father, You are  the awesome One and Only God of  the Universe; the Creator of the ends of the earth; magnificent beyond compare, yet You attend to our every need! You see your children and  your love endures forever!  Thank you for your goodness to us, your faithfulness in provision, and  your mercy that is new every morning!  It is my prayer, Lord, that each person who visits these posts about You will be touched in a great way, particularly in the building up of their personal relationship with You.  For this is our greatest calling as your children! I pray, also, that in this drawing closer with You, each one will gain a greater compulsion to share Your love with others.  May each one of Your children including myself and all across the world use each day for Your purposes, to save the lost and share Your love. In Jesus name,
Amen
Let’s sing!
Enjoy uplifting music as you go along your day!

Promises of God
*
Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Philippians 4:6-9 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Wednesday-Sharing the Overflow with Others

Let us not forget to pray for our friends and families in Florida and along the coast in the track of Ian.  May God’s mercy  be displayed throughout this storm! And Lord, if it is in your will , please turn this storm back safely into the sea, in Jesus name!

John 13:34-35 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

How to put love back into  the world ....  small things we can all do !

💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

1. Write a list of things you love but forget to be grateful for. Post it somewhere.   And remember to give thanks for  every good gift!  Love flows from a grateful heart.

2. Call your mom, or a relative or friend in nursing care, etc.

3.If you have a little sibling or cousin or niece or nephew, plan a date with them.  Wake them up and tell them you’re going to take them to a movie they wanted to see or out for lunch or to the toy store or for ice cream.

4. Next time you are at church or anywhere ask: What can I do to help?

5. Pay someone a phone call just for a friendly chat.

6. Make a little extra dinner tonight and share it with someone you normally don’t.

7.Call your grandparents.

8.Apologize for things that happened a long time ago, even if you’re certain the other people involved have forgotten. You don’t know what people still carry with them. You don’t know how much healing comes from a simple: “I’m sorry” from someone you thought would never say it.

9.Ask a cashier, barista, waitress, cab driver, DMV employee etc. how their day is going and have a discussion with them. Treat them like people, not inanimate servants. You might even offer to pray for them.

10. Bake an item to share with a neighbor

I had to share this one..   And we all are  ...

Finally,
Promises of God continues:

Matthew 11:28-29 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong

Isaiah 40:31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles;

they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Tuesday -Finding Joy for a Fulfilling Life

I should have shared this yesterday  for Rosh Hashanah,  the new year, 5783.

"Rosh Hashanah" means "head of the year" in Hebrew, and the two-day holiday is considered a time to reflect and repent in anticipation of the coming year.It is also referred to as the "day of judgment." The holiday calls people to consider how they might have failed or fallen short in the past year -- and how to improve and grow in the coming year.

I  promised to share  three new promises of God each  post  for  us to  copy, memorize and  learn to apply   in our prayers during  difficult times.

John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;   I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

Psalm 37:23-24 The steps of a man are established by the Lord,  when he delights in his way;24 though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand.

  God bless   us!!

Monday- Living a Slow, Purposefully Meaningful Life

Purposeful Living

You might ask me..  Why do you keep  sharing about a slow life.. I   see  these slow  living videos   demonstrating  living purposefully.  And I see  that even when they are approaching their chores  in this way,  there is a feeling of  satisfaction and even joy in the process. Instead of marching through your day checking off  the things to be done like a Mad Hatter,  I just believe they can be accomplished  thoughtfully and with  joy in the heart.
I will say here  that my life  as a wife, mother, teacher, and  social chairman of  large churches   was  generally that of a rat race, so I know  the health issues and   general  stress  that it puts on  you.  I wish I had  the guidance  toward a slow life, I think it might have helped me in  those  trying years!

I like this young lady's   feelings about living slow.     True, she happens to live in paradise and has  much to enjoy about   her  environment.  But we  as Christians  have so much to enjoy: the peace of God,  the beautiful of the scriptures, the   glory of  the creation around us..  So take most of the words she shares  and  imagine it in your life  as a child of God and  see that the quiet time of thought and peace can  be a healing salve to your  quiet routine you might  develop in your morning.. I, also, liked  it when she said .. to get in touch with your rhythm, or another  slow living  video mentions to create a rhythm of the home   where you are raising your children.. It is your life to decide how to live it ..  in a rat race or  intentionally.....creating a place of calm and peace!

Again,  I will  caution,  slow living is becoming a trend. and some of them are  a step or two  too far,,  ..into the zen life style or just places I  would never  want to  take  my readers.  I started  following some slow  living videos a year ago and those early ones are the ones that captured my ear.  I loved to listen to them because they were so calming and joyful,  and I learned  the technique of  approaching my  daily tasks in a more  godly manner..  That I was doing  it  from a Proverbs 31  ( Ministries) mindset instead of  just having to rush to get a daily list  done!   Proverbs 31:10-31 scripture . But even, then I  sometimes  had to  transfer my belief system into   how I would  apply  godly worship and  prayer  into  the  open space of time  I might gain; where they may be  be adding something  that was not for me.,   ie. transcendental meditation.   Being aware of how very differently  people  replace worldly things into the place of  God, the Father.   Sometimes it is a subtle thing.  So it is  important to always  be vigilant  and keep  Jesus and our  holy Father in  first place during   meditations, praise and worship!

I found this lovely post on how to live a Biblical Intentional Life to share with you !
I hope you  might find  some helpful  suggestions there to find   the rhythm of your life and home!
***************************************

I promised to offer  three  promises  from God's Word each post-  add these to your list to  keep, memorize, and pray back to Him in times of trouble..

John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Psalm 32:I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

Psalm 37:23 The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; 24 though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.

Peace be with you!

Sunday- Abiding Worship

Is He Worthy

Waymaker

Last night I attended  my first Women’s Conference at our new church.  It was a Nancy DeMoss Woldgemuth,  of Revive Our Hearts  Conference intitled  Heaven Rules!   It is so wonderful.  One of the awesome things was a video  of Joni Erickson Tada.   Her message was even through our trials and suffering, Heaven Rules! She taught that the Bible is full of the promises of God, given to us. For times when we feel dejected, alone, fearful, inadequate or in grief, pain, and hardship!  Joni, memorized these promises.; she has them written down all around her home so that when trouble strikes she is able to cry to God for His help,  and because of His unwavering commitment to attend to her cries, her relationship has grown all the more precious!

I found this amazing video which again explains Joni’s journey through pain and suffering to victory and  and the valiant woman she is ! I pray you will take the time to listen to this wonderful video some time this week!

Standing on the Promises of God

Here are three promises   to  learn this week.

I will keep adding them   throughout my posts so   put these into  a journal you can keep with you!!

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

Deuteronomy 31:8The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Just because...
if you haven't given your heart to Jesus yet... or have  beloved family members    you  might want to starting praying!
A few interesting facts  in the news lately regarding Israel:
Below is a write up  about Pastor Greg Laurie's new book..
"The Signs Of The Times..." You can see it. You can sense it. Events in our world seem to be racing toward some great climactic conclusion. Technology is on fire, nations are aligning, and the earth itself shudders from earthquakes, tsunamis, and natural disasters. What's next for our nation and our planet? What's in store for followers of Jesus Christ? What's taking place in the invisible spiritual world (mostly) hidden from our view? Opening the Word of God, author and pastor Greg Laurie helps us see behind the frightening headlines and news reports. Even in the midst of gathering clouds and tumultuous events, the Bible points to a God in complete control. The Second Coming of our Lord is right on schedule-and may be right on the horizon. "
Matthew 24   lays out the signs of the time..  YOU might wish to look that up in your  Bible!
But also, according to Hebraic law  and other prophetic teachings
the next two items have come to pass this week.

Many , many  scholars are looking at  these signs and saying that the rapture is very close..   One other  item.  as a student of the Bible there are many reasons to associate   the feast of Tabernacles with  the Raptures of the Christians.   Jesus did all of his major  events on Jewish  feast days.   The feast of Tabernacles is   next  month!.. I am only passing on the information that   I  know and understand.    That doesn't mean  that anything  is going to happen,  but it could!

Farewell

After  17 years of   blogging  I am  pretty sad to  just fade  out  with  hardly  anyone showing any   farewell,  concern  about my  surger...
