Oh, my, what a week. I never dreamed I would see the horrors of what is happening to Israel this week. My thoughts and prayers have been with them as I know that they re God's own people since the beginning. My prayers are that through this horrible shaking their eyes will be opened and they will know that Jesus Christ is Lord of all!!! But I, also, pray for their attackers. They have become the hands and feet of Satan whose great desire is to rob, steal, and destroy and especially the apple of God's eye! Yes, these attackers have done horrible things….. ,Unforgivable things, but they are, also, part of God's creation.. And His hope is that they will turn from their wickedness and live... know the Living God, Jehovah... That they will turn from their wicked ways. I pray for their souls.. that they might see the light from God and lay down their arms and choose life instead... Life for others and themselves,, through the redemptive work of Christ the Lord! The end is so near, we should wish that all would turn and repent from their sins and claim Jesus as their Savior! Time is short for everyone!
First of all, I am thankful for our church! I love the people and our pastors so much. I met with one of the pastors Sunday evening after our class, and we spoke about my desire to get involved in ministry. Ive been a member now for two years and even at age 73, I felt I needed to be more involved. The ministry that really needed help was the Bereavement Meal Committee. Well, I wasn't taken back on hearing that, I have previously chaired the social committee at two other large churches. So If knew I had it in me to chair this one, too. So I agreed and am so blessed by saying yes!! I have spoken to the other two women who are on this committee , but because of complications in their lives they couldn't take up the leadership. I know they will be great helpers and I am just so blessed to be in this position! I see it as a great ministry for sharing love and comfort to the hurting and the ones who need it most! I smile about this each time I think on it!!!
Monday, I spoke with Amanda about things our granddaughters need for the new school year, They re growing so fast,. I knew that the 50% off sale at Land's End would be a great place to start getting my Christmas list together. I ordered leggings, and fleece lined pants.. They do live in New England! I ordered socks and turtle necks two of each of these items.. pjs and more I can't think of right now.. But I was grateful for the nice sale! I will have a ton to wrap one of these days.
Tuesday, I made it back to church for Women[s Bible Study. We are doing a study on the 7 feasts. It is amazing and the homework is something else.. Much writing to do each day, but I am learning so much. We just finished Passover and will start on homework today on Unleavened Bread! This has been a wonderful way for me to meet new ladies with which I really enjoy sharing !
Wednesday, Lynn and I attended our Wednesday morning Bible Study.. and oh my.. I find it hard to believe that the churches do not preach in these days on the Minor prophets. But our teacher is a student of the Hebrew and the Greek, and he has written books on this topic for years.I cannot go into all that is there,. but I highly recommend that we all read and study the books of Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, and Jonah. It all speaks of the day of the Lord when God decides if the nations are fully inclined toward Him or not.. ... and then there is the Awesome Day of the Lord which is a spiritual event where we will all stand before Him to be called to account.. This is all prior to the rapture.. In the Prophetic books God explains how terrible the nations are .. those that will be judged harshly because they didn't turn back to Him and those that did turn back to Him as in Jonah! The first and second chapters of Joel describe the terrible nations and chapter two has God's solution,, Yet,, many do not heed his instructions.. It is powerful stuff. Again. I encourage those who will to read and study these very short books!!!
Thoday I had a lengthy and wonderful phone chat with our daughter. It was so wonderful to have the time to jsut talk about the little things in life. Usually, our calls are too short for my liking. but today wasn't ....just wonderful! Thank you, Lord!!!
