Rapture Ready

Are you rapture ready?   I mean  in my understanding we are definitely  closing in upon the End Times. Ok! I know...    not  a favorite topic,  but  better to be informed than to  not  to be. So I ran across this site which offers some really good insight into  what  rapture means.. Rapture Ready.  They provide  a whole slough of   sites that  have  very good info  regarding    this  very timely topic!!!  Once I  got on the site I found  Signs of the Times and  How close are we?    to be very helpful!

But, of course,  only  true Christians  are  really  interested in the rapture,  for they are the only ones  who will be called to "Come up here!?

Revelation 4: After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”

What if I haven't made a confession of faith to the Lord Jesus Christ?  What about me?  Well, that is a very good question!  For those who are called up to heaven  on the sound of the trumpet,  there is great joy in heaven  for they have escaped the wrath that is going to be poured out on the earth!

After the Rapture: For  those  who  haven't made that decision to follow  the Christ,  who  came down from heaven,   suffered and died on  a horrible cross,    so that  those who  claimed Him would  have everlasting life in heaven,    those who rejected him all of their life until now...  will be left   behind to endure the horrible   tribulation which  will last 7 years.   It will be hell on earth as Satan, the Antichrist, will rule on his earthly throne...      it will be a time of great  sorrow   as God's wrath is poured out because of unrepentant sin.   The book of  The Revelation (the last book of the Bible) is the best source to read for understanding.  Or  it is  probably a good idea to start with this,  found  on this site.. After the Rapture!

I am dedicating my blog to these topics  now  because I  feel that the rapture could be very soon. I have been attending a prophecy class  where our  dear  teacher   studies the scriptures and  applies  it to the times in which we are living .  Several well known  theologians including  David Jeremiah,  Jack Hibbs ,  even Jonathan Cahn,   claim   that  it very could very well  come  during  the Jewish feast, the  Feast of Trumpets  during the  time of Rosh Hashanah  which  starts next week  October 2-4, 2o24.  Yes,  the Bible is clear no man knows the day or hour when rapture occur,   but just as  Cahn has  said " it could be the 2nd, 3rd,. of fourth of the month !"But  these  leaders  do  say if not this year then Feast of Trumpets next year!

But I did watch a YouTube video  that was very compelling about the signs in the heavens..  The  arrangement of  constellations, along with the planets.. (every planet that is seen all together  in the fall of 2024)  And will not be seen in many cases  many years from now..  Remember  Genesis 1 says  that  the stars  and the heavenlies are useful  as signs  from   God   to prepare His people!!

This surely is the most exciting time to be alive!  And I do pray that if you have not made a confession of faith that you will  make that change in your life soon,  and that you will  truly believe that Jesus died for your sins,  and that you  are sorry for  your sins..    that you will repent,  turn to God  and ask  for his forgiveness.  And He will forgive you of your sins and  you will  become  a member of His  heavenly family! Please do not let your pride stand in the way of making this life changing commitment!  There are other  posts listed on the side panel of my blog   under the title of    Road to Salvation     and  Road to Redemption  (Rod)  sorry for misspell!  all about making this commitment to the Lord!!!  If you need more information  you will find it there!! God bless you!!!!

Love, Carolyn

Saturday 9

Summer in the City

Welcome to Saturday 9.
    Hosted by Sam!

What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday.

Saturday 9: Summer in the City (1966)

Unfamiliar with this week's song? Hear it here.

1) Now that Labor Day has passed and kids have returned to school, summer is unofficially over. Looking back, share a highlight from Summer 2024.

I am cheating a bit  and going back to the first of May when our daughter and grands flew down to Cherry Grove Beach to join us in a week of fabulous  frivolity....

2) Though this week's song is about summer, it was recorded in the spring, March to be exact. What's your favorite season?I love the cooler seasons..  It is a toss up between Spring and Autumn!!

3) Lovin' Spoonful lead singer John Sebastian sings that he's going to meet his lover on the rooftop. When were you last on the roof of your building? Never... are you kidding?!?!?

But in college our dorm window looked right out on the roof of the  lobby downstairs and we used to climb out on the roof and lay out  on sunny days!

4) The lyrics refer to sidewalks that are "hotter than a match head." What's the last thing you lit with a match?

IN the last few days.. I love to light scented candles in autumn.  I love those  caramel, apple scents!!

5) The Lovin' Spoonful was founded by John B. Sebastian and Zal Yanovsky. When the band broke up, Zal opened a restaurant. Tell us about the restaurant you most recently dined at.

Last Sunday after church  we and  our  buddies dined at Olive Garden!!!

6) John went on to have a solo career. His biggest hit was "Welcome Back," the theme to a popular 70's sitcom. The first line: "Welcome back, your dreams were your ticket out ...". Do you recall what show used "Welcome Back" as its theme?   Did it  have a Cotter in it.. I never watched it  but I reminds me of going back to school!

7) In 1964, when "Summer in the City" was popular, Americans were tuned in to Bewitched. The show centered around Samantha, a witch married to a mortal. Among her supernatural powers were flight, time travel and telekinesis (being able to move objects by twitching her nose). If you could have one of those powers, which would you choose?

Well, I believe  once the Millenium comes  and I am with the Lord, I will be about to flit from here to there.  Much better than anything    they can dream up on a Witch sitcom!!

8) In 1964, AJ Foyt earned the second of his four Indy 500 victories. Do you watch car racing?  Absolutely,  and I remember  Foyt  and all the gang from his era!  Those were the days!!!

9) Random question: Is your big toe your longest toe?
Yep!

Tuesday 4. Autumn Reading

Autumn Reading

Hosted by Annie!

Happy September!

The Autumnal Equinox is September 21 and it is the actual beginning of Autumn. Many, however, consider Labor Day as the unofficial opening of the Autumn season of the "Ber" Month

1. What's on your reading list for September?  I have learned that I really enjoy cosy mysteries, so I am currently reading Laura Child’s books   The one  at this time is Broken Bone China.  I, also, have a Christmas book  for the season, The Twisted Tea Christmas  novel!  I am doing a heavy duty Bible Study on Matthew with Community Bible Study, so My reading for fun is limited. I am also reading Eugene  Peterson’s book, A Long Obedience in the Same Direction that was recommended to a great Bible Scholar and friend.

2. Does your favorite reading nook look anything like the one in the picture or do you wish it did?Actually my cosy reading nook looks very like your very cosy photo. My favorite chair is  right beside our fireplace which makes for quite a comfy spot in the fall and winter!

3. Can you name some books you've read many times?  Do you recommend them?I have read some classics time and again.  I love Pride and Prejudice and am finishing my 4 th or fifth time around. Also, one of my favorite authors is Lynn Kurland. I love her time travel romances, mainly as they are set in medieval England and Scotland mainly!  Wonderful storylines!

4.   Which of the classics have you read?  Good Reads offer a list of classics they  recommend here.

Farewell

After  17 years of   blogging  I am  pretty sad to  just fade  out  with  hardly  anyone showing any   farewell,  concern  about my  surger...
