Something fun to share (a blog, a video, a tip):::  If you like to draw or

each Thursday  around noon..   here are some samples
copy and paste   in the url  bar  for some  drawing fun with the
sketchbook skool site!

Thinking and pondering::This is  the week I ahve been dreading for one
time..   Especially since for one health issue or another had to post-
pone it.  But  this  will be the week for my  colonoscopy and  I can-
not wait to get it behind me and pray for a  good result!

On my tv:::

Hallmark mysteries,  and movies,
All creatures Great and Small, (we watched last weeks  last night. 😟)
When calls the Heart
YOutube videos on home decor
I love the British  realty shows.  Phil and Kirstie are favorites!  These
 shows  never  change
But I also have fallen in love with the Matlock Mystery.  I  have plenty
 of old shows  to enjoy!

On my to do list:::Monday:    Basically  resting and    trying to eat well
in preparation for  tomorrow!  midafternoon I do    have  a  physical
therapy session for my back  to strengthen  it  in prep for  the
knee surgery coming up sometime soon. No date yet!.
Tuesday  This is prep day.. oh I do dread it so much
Getting and up and down  will  be growling I fear!
Wednesday:  Bright and early at the hospital..  soon it

Looking around the house::: Things are in good shape..

From the camera::  This first photo was  taken last  Thursday  for

FFF

Friday's Fave Five #829

Hosted by Susanne!

This  week has  completely flown by. I am starting to believe the Lord is speeding up time.. It seems I was just writing this post    yesterday...   Even so  this has been  rough week for me. I have an appointment finally to be seen by an ENT doctor regarding my  sinus  headaches and  inflammation.. Over the counter meds have been  a little helpful in    addressing the issues,  but  I do hope the doctor tomorrow can  address it completely  as I have  had this for some time!

We  had the most wonderful  day  with hubs on Saturday.  Our large Sunday school class  met at a lodge  on the  reservoir property  for a great  get to know  you  picnic..  Our class just merged with a much larger class and it  was  a bit hard to get to know folks.  We had a   such fun..  the food was  fabulous  but the  folks were all so much fun!  I am so  glad we went!

I am  thankful  for the day of rest  I enjoyed on Monday... It was the first day in quite a while  that I had no where to go or be!   I really needed the rest  as I have had a sinus flare up,  a kidney stone and  a colonoscopy  planned in the next week as well as a knee replacement  soon after that!

Tuesday I did  go to the urologist and got the relatively good news that the stone is small enough to just watch it  til  summer,  so that is one  thing off my medical  list!!!   Yahoo!!!

Wednesday  I had my first  back therapy   to strengthen my back  toward the  knee replacement.  It wasn't exactly  my best  therapy session..  I  have allowed myself to become  quite out of shape..  Well,  my knee isn't that great.   I have my next  session  this afternoon  (Friday). Praying for a better  result!    I'll  let you know about this    after  the fact!!!

Thursday  I  hosted my prayer sisters  and  really enjoyed    preparing for it.  I made delicious  orange  cup cakes form the Duncan HIne Mix and  iced them with the    store bought  cream cheese icing.  Yum  they were so springy and  delish!!!  YOU c a see them in the photo ...
Our daffodils  have sprung up so quickly  so I was thrilled to have a reason to  cut some for the table.  And it was a joy to use my green transfer ware   for this tablescape.  Even in my mobility issues  hosting small events for dear friends is a sweet joy  for me..  Thank you, Lord for giving me the strength and the  ability to  do my best in showing love and   beauty  with my dearest  buddies!

Tomorrow I will  add a pS    regarding  my  ENT visit and the  next therapy session!    GOd bless you all!!   Thanks for visiting!!!

This morning I had  my  visit with the ENT..  I met with a new  doctor and I liked him  very well!!!  Thank you, Lord

Top O' the Mornin' to ye

I am thinking about  March  with these  dreadful winds... it puts me into an Irish frame of mind...
It will soon be  St. Patrick's day, anyway! It will be 10 years come April..we took a bus trip around  Ireland with our  senior group  at church!  It was our first bus trip and I must say it was  just perfect.. for Ireland, because  Hubs would never have liked  driving those narrow roads..A  thick hedge on the right and a  stone wall  right beside the road on left..    and driving on the left would have made he a nervous wreck!!!  But oh, how we loved Ireland! One of our first treats  was to  visit  St. Patrick's Cathedral!

It was absolutely magnificent.. and our  guide  was so  charming with his  Irish  tone..It was our favorite  site in Dublin.. Aside from our  first night  when we  did the  Musical dinner..  The Irish House Party  .  Open this link   in a new  page!  It  was so much fun!!!

Tuesday 4 Home Sweet Home

Tuesday 4  Home Sweet Home  Hosted by Annie!

Be it ever so humble there is no place like home . Let's talk about homes okay?

1.  In some places people name their homes or properties. What would you name your home and why? I would name it St Giles in The Fields,  Cottage,  as that is where my earliest known  maternal ancestor  was  from in Middlesex, England. Our home is very cottage like inside!.
If you would not name it, why wouldn't you?

2.  Are you more of a romantic or a pragmatist when it comes to your home or apartment's decor and color?I am much more a romantic...  I  love cottage core design!

3.   Do you have enough room in your home?  Yes,  and if we continued to  purge  more every week,  we would have  very ample room! Storage space, kitchen cabinets?  Now since it is just the two of us,    all fits together very well!  What would you add or subtract from your home?We love it just as it is!

4.  Is your place really home sweet home ? It is home sweet home. Would it be hard to leave it ? At our age  we know  moving is  in the cards for us,.. The yard is just too much  for Hubs!   Are you firmly rooted in your abode or would you move if a better opportunity came your way?  The price of homes has sky rocketed so much  we wonder if we can afford to move.  If we do move it would be a a condo  with a nice  terrace  and  lots of light!
We are actually  looking at something like this...

Saturday 9

What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday.    Hosted by Sam!

Saturday 9: My Blue Heaven (1955)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) The music for "My Blue Heaven" was written by Walter Donaldson. Mr. Donaldson was a gifted piano player who used his talent to entertain the troops on leave during WWI. What's something you're naturally good at?  One of my spiritual gifts from on high is decorating and hosting  dinners,  teas,  and  serving in  that capacity in our church!  I still love to do these things  but at my age  leading the charge is now out of my wheelhouse.   I love to  just  volunteer now.

2) The lyrics were written by George Whiting. He began his career on stage as a song-and-dance man. While touring, he met and fell in love with another singer on the bill. They went on to marry and have three daughters. Have you ever engaged in a workplace romance?  Never.

3) In this song, Doris Day sings about a cozy home. Look around the room you're in. What makes it cozy?  I am sitting at my desk in the kitchen.  The colors of  our putty colored paint on the  cabinets along with the earthy colors of the quarry, along with the   artwork and  English plates on the walls make for a very cosy corner in which I am sitting!

4) For four consecutive years, Doris was the most popular film actress in the world, with fans flocking to theaters to see her. Is there an actor or actress whose presence in a movie or TV show makes you say to yourself, "I want to see that?"Well, I still really enjoy Doris Day,  but in this modern age.. Id say,   well,  even  as I think Im still reverting back to the past  with the likes of Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks..  I guess I only  now really enjoy  Hallmark movies and I do enjoy certain ones better than others..Lacy Chabert,  Jill Wagner, Autumn Reeser  to name a few!

5) For all her film and music success, she found herself broke in the late 1960s. Her husband had mismanaged her fortune, something she didn't discover until after his sudden death. Do you know how much is in your checking account right now? (We're not asking the amount; just whether you know.) Not at all.   Hubs is the banker here and he does a great job!

6) Away from performing, Doris' passion was animal welfare. At one point she shared her home with more than a dozen dogs and went on to establish the Doris Day Animal Foundation. Do any pets share your home?  Not  now.  We have housed  two cats over time..  but no more!!!

7) In 1955, when this song was a hit, cars came with AM radios but they were pretty unsophisticated by today's standards. The car needed to be on and "warmed up" a bit before the signal was picked up and that signal could easily be lost if you were bouncing over rough terrain. Today most new cars come with Bluetooth so you can enjoy infotainment through your phone. Do you listen to music, podcasts, audiobooks, etc., as you drive?  If IM  driving  around town I listen to a Christian   or  a Classical station.  On long trips  we listen to Apple play.. our playlist showcases the  golden age of rock and roll.  We love to sing along!!!!

8) Also in 1955, the first McDonald's opened. Does your community have a McDonald's?  Yes, but we do not frequent it.

9) Random question: How long have you known your newest friend? about 2 months and she is a der..  Her name is Bonnie and she is a fabulous baker!!!
