I am hopeful for some measurable snow. I think it is beautiful!

♥♥ As I look outside my window ♥♥

As I looked out the window when I woke  up this morning, the sun was shining brightly with few clouds.  But the window had a frosty glaze!

♥♥ Right now I am ♥ ♥
I am working on this post in the den,  listening to Fox News.  Nothing very good on, I’m afraid!… Time to switch to an uplifting  YouTube channel..so I am now listening to one of my favorites,
Daily Connoisseur.

  ♥♥ Thinking and pondering ♥ ♥
I think it is time to transition from winter decor to Valentine’s Day. Besides, that way I  sublingually remind Hubs that it is time to think, {card,  dinner out, or something nicer}. He usual does like to celebrate Valentines in some way!

♥♥How am I feeling ♥♥
I got a good night’s sleep and awakened with less stiffness. I think perhaps
I usually do not fully relax at night and I wake up so very stiff and achy.  But not so much today. There is so much stress in the world …it’s no wonder that our bodies react, but I did spend quite a bit of time praying last night.  I had so many to lift up for health and body issues, and so many others’ situations to bring before Him. I cannot help but believe that that long period of being in His presence relaxed me quite a bit.  The Lord is so amazing!

   ♥♥ What am I Wearing♥♥

I am wearing my navy leggings and my favorite plaid flannel shirt I got for Christmas. I love it’s very soft cosiness!

♥♥ On the breakfast plate ♥♥
Of course, I just finished my fruited yogurt and coffee.

♥♥ On the dinner plate ♥♥
I was just checking the freezer and my mouth started watering when I saw the breaded pollack,
it is so pleasant and mild. So I will pop   a couple each in the oven and bake to perfection. I will make a wonderful tossed salad and hubs asked for peas. So that sounds like supper! Upon checking on the WW site it looks like my dinner will cost me 6 of my daily 23 points. Breakfast was 4 so that leaves me 13 for lunch and snack. Sounds pretty doable.

♥♥ On my reading pile ♥♥
7 Feasts Bible Study on the 7 feasts of Israel
Luke
2 Timothy
A couple of Victoria magazines I am perusing!

♥♥On my TV this week ♥ ♥
I love
All Things Great and Small!   I love b/w movies on YouTube.  You can find some wonderful ones!

♥♥ From the camera ♥ ♥
The last few days my amaryllis was so tall it had to be braced..but the blooms were lovely …until they weren’t.. so Lynn is now storing it away  until summer when we will plant the bulb in the ground.
I changed my table for late winter, using my
William Morris table runner. I was very weary  of the heaviness of snowy winter decor, so  I just purchased some less expensive flowers at the market and added some dried flowers and .I think it created a sweet pre-valentine look!

♥♥ To Do List ♥
Stay on top of the housework
Plan healthy dinners
Work on my 7 Feasts  homework
Do my Bible reading
Work on my journal
Correspondence  I try to write 2 handwritten letters a week.

  ♥♥ Favorite Vlog ♥

I think you will enjoy this video!
Let’ enjoy some timely inspiration for Valentine’s Day!

Fridays Fave Five

Hosted by Suzanne.
Another week has simply flown by.  I do believe the earth is traveling faster than usual.. I actually had very little going on this week except both t days were rather hectic, but the other days were basically nothing going on. So I figured I would get something accomplished. I am ashamed to say I cannot think of a thing , of course I don’t have the greatest memory these days. As a matter of .I was dining with a dear friend today, a nurse by trade, who recommended Gaia’s product, called Lion’s Mane Mushroom.  I quote the write up..

  • Brain Support Supplement: Helps support the nervous system, mental performance, focus, and cognition
  • Nootropic Mushroom Supplement: Organic lion's mane mushroom to help promote brain health
  • Potent Support: With 100% mushroom extract, each capsule has 2,500mg of dried lion's mane mushroom
  • Purity-Tested: Gaia Herbs Lion's Mane Mushroom is vegan, gluten-free & proudly made in NC, USA
  • Our Story: Since 1987, our purpose has been to connect people, plants, and planet to create
She buys her’s from Amazon. And it has helped she and her husband very much , not immediately but by faithfully taking the supplement  their memory has quite improved.
No, I am not selling it or have any claim to it except, so many folks say their memory has been affected since covid, I am passing along an encouraging tidbit. I intend to purchase it tomorrow!

Well, apparently, I didn’t do much during the early week. We didn’t even go to church, it was so very cold, and it affects my arthritis so much so we enjoyed watching it tv. That really sounds like an over the hill pair, but let’s face it. We are!
I didn’t get to go to Bible Study yet again. I had my kidney Dr appt to address the huge stone on the other side. Thankfully, he is waiting a few months before treating and removing it. So I have a reprieve there, thank you, Lord!Lynn and .I got out to the market and got caught up on my pantry needs, then we were off  to my next appt. But he had had to cancel. No word yet on when I can see him again.  I pray it will be soon. Seeing my podiatrist regularly  is a joy and an essential part of my health regime.  I certainly pray he isn’t thinking of retiring. He certainly could, but we really like him so much!

This brings me to Wednesday.  Yay, I slept in until 9. It was wonderful.  Usually I wake up super early and cannot go back to sleep. Then I am running on 2 cyclinders for the day. Midday, I went to my hairdressers and got a body perm. I haven’t had one in years, and forgot that in the beginning it can be quite curly.  Hah, I went to my dear friends home this morning for group prayer. When her dear  husband saw me wearing a tam on my head, he made light of it jokingly,  so .I jerked it off quickly and smiled at him. He said, “Quick, put it back on! It is actually beginning to look cute this afternoon. So .I decided to wait til tomorrow to wash out the solution.  It is rather fun to be amid folks and hear them sniffing in several directions wondering, what is that smell!  I just hei myself  around corner before they catch on it is me!so I have to say today has been a wonderful day.  Thank you, Lord , for precious prayer sisters with whom I meet twice a month to lift up our concerns .  We are blessed!

Tomorrow is a full day, too!  It begins going to Weight Watchers to weigh in and meet with our group!  So far  in 8 months I have lost 42 pounds. It may sound slow, but I think that is a healthy way to lose and I do not intend to gain it back.  I am down 5 sizes.  It is wonderful! Praise you, Father, for without your hand and guidance I wouldn’t be here rejoicing!

Today I ,also, heard from my daughter who sent me photos of her oldest daughter who is just beginning band in upper elementary at her school. They had a concert and the pictures were so precious. I am so proud of her. The chorus, also, performed and so many of the students were acting silly .. I was watching a video. And our granddaughter just looked so lovely, following the teacher, singing so beautifully. I am so very proud of our daughter for raising two very mature, sweet, brilliant students who are both making a mark in their respective grade. Even as the world seems to be spinning out of control and people only seem to care more for themselves and their wants, I can only be proud of our girls who represent loveliness, respect, and graciousness even at they ages. Thank you Lord for sending your angels to watch over them, imparting grace and loveliness over them and keeping them safe!  So very much for which to be thankful!

Stolen from Swap Bot

1. If you could have a remote control that could pause

time, what would you do with it? I think  I’d throw

it away… what fun is to extend time or whatever

it is good for.. a pause is just that a stop. What

good is even a wonderful moment , if paused ,

there is no thrill, no enduring feeling. It is simply

a pause. I see no point in it. I want to feel, and

thrill over the most wonderful experiences in life.

2. What's the silliest thing you believed as a child

that you wish were true now ?That Granny will

always be with us!

3. If your life had a theme song that played every

time you entered a room, what song would it be?

Without a doubt, The Girl from Impanema!

4. If you were a vegetable, and someone accidentally

ate you, what would you want them to say

after the first bite? Wow, who knew a veggie

could be so sweet!

5. If you were a flavor of ice cream, which one

would you be, and why? Yum, Cherry Garden ,

 from High’s!

it would say to you first? “ Oh ok, so I went acattin,

last night, what’s for breakfast? “

8. If you were a character in a video game, what

would be your special move? Tele- beam place to

Place.

9. What's the most bizarre item you've ever bought

online?  Never did!

10. If you could replace the sound of one everyday

activity with your own voice, which activity would

you choose? I would change the school across the

street when it’s generator starts up at 5am, into a

Gentle “ummmm”

11. If you were a punctuation mark, which one would

you be, and how would you punctuate people's

free" sale item ever? I suppose buying a boa snake.

14. If you could trade places with any fictional

character from a book or movie, who would it

be, and what would you do differently in their story?

I suppose be Christine in the last phantom of Opera

in stead of the Hokey Pokey other guy!  Which in the

hidden plot in that film, is exactly what happened!

Saturday 9

 Saturday 9 hosted by Samantha

Young Girl

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love to answer the questions, however, and here is today's questions!

Saturday 9: Young Girl (1968)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) The song is about a girl who is too young for romance. How old were you when your parents allowed you to date?I was about 15  when Barry came to the house..16 when we when out.

2) Lead singer Gary Puckett mentions the girl's perfume. What scent do you wear most often? I have had many favorite scents, but now I prefer  the fresh scent of Jean Nate spray.

3) "Young Girl" reached #2 on the charts and stayed there for three weeks, but it never hit #1. It was stuck behind Otis Redding's "(Sittin' on) The Dock of the Bay." Are you competitive by nature? Or would you be satisfied doing well, but not being #1?I have never been competitive.  I think satisfied is a good word!

4) The Union Gap got together in San Diego, California's second most populated city. Have you ever visited California? If yes, where did you go? No. I have never been further west than Indiana.

5) The Union Gap performed at a White House state dinner for special guests Prince Charles and Princess Anne. Some in attendance that night maintain that President Nixon seemed to be playing matchmaker that night between the Prince and his daughter, Tricia. Have you ever tried to fix people up? If yes, did romance result? I did “fix up”a very sweet girl in my dorm, on my hall, I barely knew her, with my fiancées’ best friend,  at a neighboring college, and last I heard they got hitched! My fiancée was in the army over seas at the time. We have often wondered what became of them. On a side note, Lynn’s friend, took me to see the Moody Blues concert at his college because he knew I loved them so, and my sweetheart was unavailable. I always thought that was so dear of John.  W have tried to look him up, but to no avail!

6) After six Top 20 hits in three years, the Union Gap disbanded. Today Gary Puckett tours as a solo artist on the "oldies circuit" with Peter Noone of the Herman's Hermits. Without looking it up, can you name any of the Herman's Hermits hits?

So long ago!

7) In 1968, when "Young Girl" was a hit, Jacqueline Kennedy married Aristotle Onassis. Think about the last wedding you attended. Were you closer to the bride or groom?I was closer to the groom.. he was the son of my cousin.

8) Also in 1968, the most popular movie in theaters was Funny Girl, starring Barbra Streisand. What's the last movie you watched? At the theater, I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day..

9) Random question -- Come clean: Right now are there more dishes in your sink or clothes in your hamper?clothes in my hamper.

Friday Fave Five

Hosted by Suzanne.

We have had  a couple of years with very mild weather. But this winter has broken that mold. We had our first snow in over 2 years and folks have reveled in it. Thankfully, even though it was  only 3 inches, the frigid temps kept the roads a bit treacherous so everything closed down, giving everyone a free couple of days to just have a reset after the holidays, I know I enjoyed the time of just “me” time. While hubs was enjoying his given 2 days, I took time to work on my Bible Study and do some journalling. I made some delicious soup and just enjoyed home!

Ok,  the deer's  fourth leg was behind him..  before  you  ask the question!!!!
I  am  so  delighted with the snow   mainly, I suppose since it has been  so long.    The past couple of years have been  strange.. not in the least normal.  so it does  feel good to  feel normal in the air,  at least!!
I am so enjoying getting back into letter writing .. I love to  receive a letter, so I  can bet, others do, as well. ... and who knows I may get one in return!. But  to reengage in   slow, correspondence , choosing just the right  stationary,  the color of ink,   decking the envelop with  a  waxed seal.. I find it all  so lovely. I  know my granddaughters love getting special mailings from me and I love  creating them!!!
Our church also,  sends out in  the  first of the month mailing  a list of those who are  having  birthdays that month.  So I am also, sending  cards out to  each  birthday recipient,  and it  has  made a great  improvement in my getting to know   more  women, in particular.  I will send  a friend's husband a card, as well,    as it comes around.  Not to make them feel left out. But I am making  many more  new friends at church  just by sending them a  lovely card.  I try to write a friendly note on each one..  I know that this isn't for everyone..  But   for me it is wonderful to  reignite   the    love of receiving   a personal note in the mail box.  I  really try to make it  as beautiful as I can.   Oh, Im not  a whiz at it,  but I do the best I can.  Writing a personal letter  should   be giving  your best  to another, I think.   I  know I am blessed in  the act of sharing  care and  good will to others!!
Tomorrow I have set aside a day to  just read   and journal.  I have a couple of books I have been  hoping to  start and   since it  is supposed to be a bit more  snow tomorrow,   my chair  by the fire is calling my name. That is something I really look forward to..  so I decided to share about it  beforehand.. that way I will be sure to  actually do it!!!

Tuesday Four Planning

Planning   Hosted by Annie!

Hey.  Bathroom fixing is taking up a lot of time but there is always time for Tuesday 4.

Let's do some planning....

1. What is something you have always wanted to do? Honestly, my dream for years was to tour Scotland ….. praise God, in 2022, our daughter and her family planned and  took us on a two week tour of Scotland!  We paid for our flight and meals, but everything else, was provided… even our own rental car. I now have toured  7 European nations and I couldn’t ask for more.

When will you do it? Now I am  only extremely grateful, and I thank the lord everyday for His tender mercies!

2. Friends are coming to town to visit you. What arrangements will you make and what sights do you think you would take them to see? We just had a similar thing happen over Christmas. My dearest elementary school friend and her hubby came to spend the day with us. We enjoyed reminiscing for a while, then hopped in the car and went to one of our nicest restaurants in town, known for their magnificent salads …we all needed to watch our diets!  After lunch we drove them through our city to show off the Christmas  decorations, then ended up at the magnificent Hotel Roanoke. Major clubs around our vicinity take on a tree there to decorate in fabulous style to describe  what the club is all about. The halls of trees are quite magnificent and touring is a major event in our town.. The Christmas spirit was everywhere and we spent a couple of hours enjoying that spirit together. It was great fun.  They were interested in leaving  town before dark.  ( they live an hour away)  but we had a wonderful day!

3. It's time to relax after a busy Tuesday. What sounds good for tonight? A movie?
Which one?

Jesse Stone, Lost in Paradise
 A book? Early to bed?
Then early to bed!

4. Plan something for this weekend that includes going out or having people in.

I planned a fun Saturday night over Christmas but it never came to fruition as I ended up in the emergence room with my kidney stone. But…

W had invited our best friends, David and Gerri,

over for a fun Christmas dinner. Since Gerri and   I are both doing  WW. I had planned relatively healthy and fun food.. so instead of a meal we planned party food.. I had cool appetizers , crab salad, cheese tray with  cut veggies, peppers, celery, carrots.  It was going to be beautifully set and I was making a sugar free Fluff decked out with strawberries and  slices of kiwi for dessert.. the groceries were purchased and the table was set, yet, it never happened. We were going to play a game like Pictionary.  And have great fun. We are still piece by piece eating on the purchased food.  Now we are working on the Gruyère! I have never used puff pastry. It is still in the freezer. Maybe this spring!
