Tuesday 4

You...

It's time again for Tuesday 4 in memory of Toni Taddeo, our founder.

Hosted by Annie!

Let's talk about you this week.

1. How are you unique or different from your friends or family? How typical are you?

I think I am a bit different from my family and friends..  growing up an only child teaches one

to  finally be comfortable in your own skin,  to  discover new ways to satisfy  yourself,  no de-

pending on anyone else for your  satisfaction.  and of course,  because I am a child of God  I

go to Him  very much for  that satisfaction.. Most everyone else in my family  has  a whole

brood of  brothers and sisters  to  lean on in hard times..  I do have a couple of very close

friends,  but even things can develop to  cause  division there..  So  if Im not leaning on the

Lord,  I have    inner  strengths  that I can lean on..  many interests that feed my soul!  I think

many only children  could say  very similar  things about  how they have developed,  but I

must say one of my cousins  is not a believer  and she is always on my heart and in my prayers!

2.  How do you spend your spare time? books, hobbies, visiting, tv etc. I go through spells,  right

now I find much delight in following  favorite vlogs and making friends across the airways...  But

when I get into books  I do that whole heartedly, or  when I drag out the saints you might know

they will be on the table  for  weeks at least!

3. What was high school like for you? I was  very shy and  felt  like a loner much of the time.

I started dating in high school,, when I was 15 but    dated mostly  throughout summers.  so the

chool year  was pretty   much  times of study and  getting together with girl friends. of which I

really only  had two.  Senior year Is tarted dating Lynn,  later to become my husband.  We dated

through  two years of college  before he  joined the army to keep from being drafted in 1970.

But I must say my senior year was  wonderful!!!

4. This question has multiple parts:

a. Handbag: designer style or any will do?As a teen I had to carry  Aigner bags. Oh, I saved up

for them and  took very good care of them.  Well, I had three. And I was  really into Bass Weejuns,

so  wheat else was there to carry?  nOw  what ever I see  that is a good price... I like colorful bags.

the most expensive bag I have in the closet now is an Anuschka Painted leather bag from India!

this is the   design but the bag is a  large shoulder bag!

b. Pajamas or night gown? night gown generally

c. Shoes: sturdy or pretty ?  Sturdy Im afraid..  Bad feet and knees    has made an old woman of me!

d.home decor: classic, modern, farm house style, traditional? Classically traditional with an Olde English  flavor

e. Movies: feel good, drama, romance, action?  Feel, good, drama, and romance. I  do not  go past

 Pg-13. I detest violence!

I love this collage from a year ago... it shows  some late summer photos  from
2020     with my  dear family.  But I  love the photo of  Wee One  seeing big sister
off to  first grade. This year they  were  both off to school Wee One in Kindergarten
and  Big Sis off to second grade.  Both of them will be  in French Immersion school.
In other words every word spoken in class will be French.

♥Looking Around the house ❤️
Things just need a general pick up and perhaps a swiffer mop.  I plan to do a little redo
in the dining room this week.

I like this recipe because it looks easy, and uses fresh unprocessed foods which follows the
Skinnytaste diet I am trying to follow.  I found it is the current Woman’s World periodical at the
grocer last week.   A great free app on your phone at skinnytaste.org will give scads of recipes using
unprocessed foods.  This diet is  approved by many health orgs.   for  losing   a good amount of
weight.

♥♥Devotional, inspirational, prayer list or Bible verse♥♥

I was listening to pastor Allen Jackson lately and he is really in touch with
what is happening in the spirit realm which heavily influences what is hap-
pening on earth. I highly recommend if you do not follow him, to listen to
his very timely teaching. I just love his very pertinent teaching. No not
the country singer..

Lately, as we consider the demise of our nation, the eradication of statues,
and history, the voting debacle, the attack on families, churches, Christians,
and the Constitution, we realize just how concerted the enemy has been over
the decades to bring us to this point.
This is not something that just came upon us, but has been brewing for
decades. I believe it really began in the early 20th century with some in-
nocuous moves of various liberal presidents. These things were packaged
to look innocent, but really were setting a foundation for future actions that
systematically eroded cultural mores to bring us to where we are today.
Unfortunately, as the erosion took place, the church was silent, ( the 60's
with prayer out of school, and abortion)and the church continues to stick
her head in the sand and allow the entities that are to push their
ungodly agenda on the nation. God has a solution, but it all begins with the
church. Christians need to seek God's face, and learn to know His will
for them. When I began doing this I could hear the Holy Spirit tell me to
starta prayer ministry in our small church. I was faithful, an obedient
servant to do this to the best of my ability starting in June. We started
with 5 faithful pray-ers. This week we had 7 pray-ers.. which is signifi-
cant as our church only has about 35 attending members. I praise God
for His faithfulness and look forward to what He will do with our small
group!. Pray that you might be a faithful and obedient servant and
willingly attend to what the lord is speaking into your Spirit!.

New: The call for prayer apparently doesn't last very long. Granted one
person who had been meeting with was is out of town and another went
back to school. But we were just the two of us this morning. even though
we have never experienced anything like what is going on now, the
prayer warriors are few between. I don't know what to do to get people
to come out to pray! I only leave that in His hands. But is is very discon-
certing!!

Prayer:
Crisis in Afghanistan and the Middle East, influx of illegals into our
nation, crisis in Haiti, and everywhere that persecution is taking place...
Our government leaders to seek God, and for the fear of the Lord to
 spread among all people.
For healing of the sick, salvation of the lost, deliverance for the hurting,
Personal: situations, Prodigal children to return to their roots and be
spiritually healed, Churches to arise, against ungodly moves of govern-
mentto infringe on godly practices... protect our children from the un-
godly teachings and protect them from ungodly people who wish them
 harm for their own purposes.
Pray for organizations that are doing good in the communities, Crisis
Pregnancy Centers, Straight Street, Street Ransome, Salvation Army,
Rescue Missions, etc!

Saturday 9

Friends in Low Places

Welcome to Saturday: 9. hosted by Sam!

SATURDAY 9: FRIENDS IN LOW PLACES (1990)

Unfamiliar with this week's song? Hear it here.

1) In this song, Garth Brooks tells us he wore boots to a black-tie affair. When did you most recently get dressed up? What did you wear?  Not such a fun reason to dress up,  but I got dressed up to attend my Aunt's funeral.   We dressed at home and  drove  90 minutes to Winston Salem,  on a very hot day,  so I  when I saw   a  gauzy    bohemian skirt and  top  in the new  Coldwater Creek catalogue  I  new it would be just the thing.  It was a Celebration of life actually so I had time to order and receive it .
Pattern Play Crinkle Skirt, Multi, large imgimage of Lace Grace Vintage-Washed 100% Cotton Tunic, Dandelion 0
Love this skirt...    this is a reasonable facsimile of the top!
It was  dressy, but comfortable for traveling!
2) The lyrics refer to The Oasis, which was a real bar in Concordia, Kansas. What's the name of the last bar or restaurant where you ordered a beverage? (Yes, Dunkin' counts.) About a week ago we met friends at the deli and I had  a  Havarti Chicken sandwich and half and half iced tea!

3) Garth was having a stellar 2021. He kicked the year off by performing "Amazing Grace" at President Biden's inauguration in January, and then over the summer he received the prestigious Kennedy Center Honor. Now that we're past the halfway mark, how's your year going? Well, the best thing going right now is that I am back on my  eating less and  losing  way of living. That makes me happy and encourages me to keep going!

4) But earlier this month, Garth cancelled the remaining August and September dates of his big concert tour. He's provided refunds for the 350,000 tickets that were sold. How do you tend to react when plans change? Are you easily annoyed, or do you roll with it? Oh, I always roll with it.  When I was much younger  changed plans  were    heart breaking. I had  two major  trips  cancelled at the last minute.. One to  Alcupolco,  and one to Prince Edward Island.  Neither of them were ever realized!   But I've learned to roll with the punches now!

5) Before he sang about having friends in low places, Garth hung around in some. When he was as a struggling performer, he supported himself as a bouncer. What's the most physically taxing job you've ever had?It would have to be when I was about 14 and spending a couple week with my grandparents  on their farm.  Grandpa had me in the corn field hoeing every day,  from  8 til noon,  then  lunch and  from 1 to 4..   there were corn  fields everywhere and it was the most daunting   heavy duty work I have ever done.  I got paid 10.00  a t the end of 2 weeks. That was in 1964 .  I need spent it., but  opened my bank account with it!

6) According to the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), Garth surpassed The Beatles as the top-selling recording artist of the last 30 years. Who do you listen to more often: Garth or the Beatles?  Neither,  I like  easy jazz,   or  golden oldies of the early 70's best.

7) Garth and singer Trisha Yearwood have been happily married for 15 years now. Trisha says that as much as she loves her husband, his whistling drives her crazy. Come clean: what's your most annoying habit? My husband couldn't think of one or didn't want to tell me!

8) In 1990, when this song was a hit, Soviet President Gorbachev traveled first to Ottawa to meet Prime Minister Mulroney and then to Washington DC to meet President Bush. Do you have any travel plans? We want to hear about them, even if you aren't meeting any politicians or heads of state.  Our family with our daughter's  had planned a trip to Ireland to explore the western regions. It was planned for last summer  but, of course,  we didn't get to go  because of covid.  We  are now looking at going next year,  but who knows?  We had our    lodging,  our  rental car, our flights  all ordered and   ideas for what we would do in each of the 4 areas where we planned to stay.  We were planning  the activities  we hoped to  experience  in each of the 4 areas  in which we stayed.  One of my favorite was to attend an afternoon tea party with the girls here!Ashford Castle has an awesome golf course  on the grounds where the guys would be spending their afternoon!

9) Random question: Your dear friend spends weeks planning a party. After just 30 minutes, you find yourself having a terrible time. Would you leave at the earliest (polite) opportunity? Or would you stay till the bitter end out of loyalty?  I would probably leave  early. I am not into  the  large parties  especially where  a lot of  alcohol  is planned. I  much more enjoy  small gathering with  special friends!

Friday Fave Five

Hosted by Susanne!

We started out the week going to church   where  we had the most wonderful    sermon and program.  Our fill pastor   played the organ  to open the morning,  then   during his  sermon he sang  a wonderful song he had written  which   so beautifully  demonstrated  his  topic on   how we are to worship our  precious Lord and Savior!  We then, as a church,  enjoyed  wonderful  fellowship on the mountain   at  a  delicious  ice cream social.  It was  a birthday celebration for  our fill pastor to to let him know how very much he has been appreciated.  He finishes   his  call this week  then he will continue his teaching at Liberty University!

This week has been rather  dull after  the last two weeks  when we  enjoyed the visit of our daughter and grands!!  Lynn and I   knew on Monday that the  prayer  meeting would be slightly  attended,  but, alas,  it was just the two of us. But we  had so much to pray for, Afghanistan,   our nation,    Haiti,   the flood in Tennessee,  and our church that following this Sunday will have no pastor! it is enough to almost lose hope  when you string it all together,    but God is still   in control, and  our faith and trust is in Him!  So we persevere in our calling and  do our best.

On Wednesday,  we  attended  our  Bible study on Joel.  Joel lays out  a scenario that  is  almost exactly what  we as a nation are  enduring,  at this time,  which is    concerning because Joel is about  national judgement that comes on nations  that have turned their back on God.   We can look to the book of Amos to see  just how  His judgment  was called out on   Israel.  Joel  is written to unspecified nations  who refuse to repent.  It is difficult to even get the church to repent in these days.   Oh,  we say we are sorry, and  ask for God's forgiveness  but the problem is we do not turn to God and  stay focused on our  turn.. therefore IIChronicles 7:14  is not  working!   The church in America has  become too worldly in many aspects. To many people    live like they believe that gender issues  are  this generations  manner of showing love,  that much of God's Word is obsolete, and must be  understood in the worldly way  we see  in our culture.   We have lost sight of  the truth that God is the same yesterday, today and forever.  His truths are immutable.  We have been given chances to  turn to Him,  but  stiff necked  people only  respond to severe repercussions.  A reading of the book of Joel will reveal   His  judgment...  We are almost at the point of  Preparing to Meet our God!!!  Dear Lord,  have mercy and withhold your  judgment.,    help your people and the nation to see the error of their thinking and come back to you and your  truth!

Many pastors are    understanding the above situation. I see James Robinson on the floor  wailing to God for the sake of His  people.. He is preparing the church...  I really enjoy  Pastor Allen   Jackson,  not the country singer,  who is  sermonizing several  times a week  since 2020     to prepare his people  and all who  tune in  to   prepare  for what is coming..  prepare their heart,  build   up the faith,  share the gospel,   be strong in the Lord,    Study the Word, and so much more...  I really  love this    clip of  him  teaching  how we  much  we need to get the name and word of God out into the world  so people can see God in action...  only 7 minutes long and he is very entertaining.  please  watch..  it  is so needed  in the world today!!!!

Tonight  we will go to  Intercessors for America..  a local prayer group.. only one of its kind in our city  where about 10 people come together to pray for  major situations in our nation and world.  I highly recommend that   if you are a person of prayer that you would look  up and see if your community has IFA prayer meetings /

Once   you are inside the site, you can scroll about to find  a map of  places where people are praying and you can click in  to  dive right into your section of the map to   your  city and neighborhood.    Also,  you   can see the prayer  concerns  about which  people are praying...    these change  daily as   this site is very up to date on what is transpiring in our nation!  If you are a prayer warrior    a daily search of this site  would be a very welcome thing  ..  we need to stay focused on what is happening and joining  with God  in the battle for  His  will to be done!

Wednesday Hodge Podge

From this Side of the Pond
Hosted by Joyce!

1. Is school back in session where you live? Is everyone in person or does your system still offer a virtual option? Are kids wearing masks?   Teachers were back last week.  Students start tomorrow.  Masks and distancing  are required!

2. Something you still do 'old school'? I am  a pretty much old school gal.  I  do not  learn the  new angle ways easily!
So  it is sort of hard to think of anything in particular. I was just heating up some French fries in the oven and  as I was reading the directions on the back I remembered  yet again, 'Gee, I wish we had an air fryer!"    But it is hard to get hubs to    buy new  gadgets.   I know  everyone raves about  air fryers.  I  think Im going to just have to  get on Amazon and do  the deed!!

3. One lesson you've learned in the 'school of life'? Keep my opinion to myself.  Either no one is interested or it can really start a ruckus!.  If my opinion is  Biblical, then  I  know  I  must live  it instead of just think it!

4. When you were in school did you pack a lunch or buy a lunch? Your favorite thing to see on the lunch menu or inside your lunchbox back in the day?  I packed on most days,  except on Vegetable soup day, and  beef stew day.   I detested taking egg salad sandwiches..  yucky  after  waiting around  in the locker all day!
I  liked bologna  sandwiches.    The thought of one now,  yuck!

5. August is National Family Fun Month. Tell me something fun you’ve done this month. We had  scads of fun while the kids were here.  We   played miniature golf and I actually got a hole in one and  basically parred every other hole!   Not bad for an arthritic old lady!  We stopped at the   soft serve food truck at the  strip mall parking lot!   It is always    a fun house there!  We  went  on Mill Mountain to enjoy the view!  and we  watched Pollyanna  with the girls and ate pop corn!   Very fun indeed! Oh, yes, and  we  baked our items and had a royal tea party!  Designing our hats was  half the fun!

After the cleanup!

6. Insert your own random thought here. This morning I went to get my allergy shot then  rushed on to  Bible Study.  We are doing a study of the Minor Prophets   because they  refer to exactly what is happening in the world today!  The correlations  are astounding!!!  And  if the church doesn't get with  God's program,, repent and  actually return to Him and  do His will,  the US  is  in for  more than anything we've seen so far!  Churches need to really  study and apply the Minor prophets,  especially  Amos and Joel.  Amos has already  taken place,  Joel is for us!

Tuesday 4

 Cook!

Hosted by Annie!

Welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 kept in memory of her.

Let's talk about food this week shall we?

1.What is/are your favorite meal(meals) to eat and to cook?  I love to cook chicken stir fry with rice.

 It’s so tasty, too!

2.How often do you cook at home and what kind of  meals do you make?   I cook at least 5-6 dinners a

week.  I prefer to keep meals  simple… salad, a meat, a vegetable or fruit.

3. When you go out to eat what foods do you find yourself ordering most? We enjoy Chinese food,

or Red Lobster.. their crab cake dinner, I love  nice steak at least once a month. I really like Longhorn

 Steakhouse.

4. Can you recommend a restaurant in your area?  Why do you like it? For breakfast I love to go to

the Toastery.

They serve really fresh food,  their fruit is fresh, their coffee just right! I love their Egg’s Benedict!

The setting is so nice.. overlooking meadows and mountains!
