Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Homemaker Monday

Hosted by https://familycorner.blogspot.com/

Hello, and welcome to Wings of Eagles.  What a glorious day  with  fall

really  showing off  in our area! I hope you enjoy your visit!

Let's get down to business, shall we?

The weather in my neck of the

woods:::

Monday -67/38/sunny
Tuesday -73/45 mostly sunny
Wednesday -63/40    partly cloudy
Thursday -64/37 partly sunny
Friday -65/44  cloudy
Well,  it is autumn,  and  it  is going to feel like it, too,  but we do need
some rain!

Right now:::    Besides working on this post., I have   been rather lazy
today.  I really over did it Saturday..  purging and,  boxing  things
up,  taking  things to the good will and the discovery shop and
then redoing  two  main hutches in our dining room.  I must say,  it is
so much better without the clutter!!!  Anyway.. I  have been watching  Christmas movies  all morning!

Something fun to share (a blog, a video, a tip):::   for you younger
bloggers,  a word from the wise..  do not  buy stuff  just because it
tickles your fancy or  you think you'd  love to use it someday..or
because it was such a great price...  I  did that with my  dining room
purchasing, so  many sets of dinnerware..  because I  could use it for
various occasions. Many of those occasions never materialized! And
if they had I would have been just as happy using what I had and not
trying to impress someone!  I ended up with over 7 dinnerware sets and
all the tablecloths and napkins and placemats and decor that was ap-
propriate for each  one..  Crazy.. And now at my age,I am  scaling way
back  and I am so much happier!  But it is a ton of work, as well!

Thinking and pondering::I   was watching a Jonathan   Roumie video on
Youtube today  and he really  set me to thinking. You may know him as
the  actor who portrays Christ on The Chosen.  Whether this was a true
event or one in which He  has studied and  chose to share  with  us all, the
theme of  his  talk  was about  hearing from Jesus, urging him to speak to
the people about being sure that  you  really a Christian, not just going
through the motions., because as you probably know time is swiftly spiral
ing into its climax  when He will return to Gather His  people.. those  who
TRULY KNOW  HIM.  There are even pastors who  are doing the right thing,
but it all adds up as religious work,  but  in that work they demonstrate
that they're not really listening for the Lord's  small still voice. That
means,   if  the relationship that  Jesus wants with us  fails to occur,
there is much to consider in our own lives  about how we  should  really
listen in  your spirit  to his gentle calling..for example, we pray, Lord, help
me to be a servant today and  see a need  in the world that I can  serve you..
And then that person is checking out at the store and the  cashier is  demon-
strating he has had a rough day, he even goes as far as to  mention  some-
thing about it  and  the person sadly says I hope it gets better and leaves.
All along  God had been whispering to her,  "ask to pray for him"   and she
goes on her merry way,  and that  night when she prays  she says, 'Lord,
use me! "  But the relationship was  so weak  that she  never heard  Him..
Oh, we all have so many missed opportunities!..  Anyway, it really spoke
to me.

On my tv:::  I wrote last time  about watching really old films on You-
tube.   This week I  found the 1995  version of Pride and Prejudice being
played in several different venues. I love the book,  all the movies and
especially Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. I have watched  some over and
over!  I can  hardly believe that was 30 years ago.. I mean when I was ten.
that would ahve been 1930!

On my to do list:::
Monday:   I got through my last week appointments  and this week I have
more so  I've rested   from  a lot of things  and  just been  thinking about all
that is coming up
Tuesday:I get up bright and early tomorrow and  go to have my stress test
for my surgery on the 3rd of Nov.  I dread it..  4 hours long!!!
Wednesday:  I have no idea.. I hope to do a bit of  preparation for the kids
who will be here in mid November I  could do some decorating and even
some gift wrapping!
Thursday: Take a break from  the paper work and  do
a bit of purging upstairs. My closet is a joke..  I have things packed
away .. it will take days!  I didn't get to this last week.  A couple of leaf
bags  would be nice to keep handy  as I switch out my summer and  winter
 clothing!
Friday:   Last Friday of the month means  America Pray Now event where
several tables of folks come together  with their  prayers over our  nation,
state, and city,   fellowship afterwards with a lovely luncheon at  one  of
outstanding restaurants  as we get to know  others better, as we come from
  several different churches.

My simple pleasure:::Because I am at the age of  having memory issues
I  have found that  giving a bit of time to some  online memory games
have been a good help for me.  I  enjoy crossword puzzles called,
classic words, online puzzles and  cryptoquote  games.  still enjoy  them.

Looking around the house:::  Messy...  sort of topsy turvy.. oOO I have
 so much to do!!

From the WORD!

Have a great week!!!

  1. I really loved your devotion. My husband is a pastor and he talks about that all the time. We serve in a very, very busy church that there's always something going on in lol.. so he always warns that we can't get so wrapped up in what we are doing to forget our relationship with God, and I'm guilty of that sometimes. Just because you're 'working' in church doesn't mean you're serving if you're not doing it with the spirit. That was a nice reminder :)
Also, totally agree with you on the 'stuff'. I'm working on decluttering again- we made a huge declutter years ago but we have really accumulated since! thanks for all the good reminders! Have a great week!!!

Farewell

After  17 years of   blogging  I am  pretty sad to  just fade  out  with  hardly  anyone showing any   farewell,  concern  about my  surger...
