Celebrator's Conference

Photobucket
What an amazing week we've had! Monday, Lynn and I were priveleged to travel with the senior adults of our church to Sevierville, TN for Dr. David Jeremiah's conference . This was a fabulous experience! First of all, how fun to leave the driving and all the decision making for the trip to someone else!

Our driver was precious, and the week was superbly planned by our dear event coordinator, Freida!

The Lord provided the most gorgeous weather and the accommodations and welcome to the Pigeon Forge, TN area were exemplary!

The Apple Grove Inn provided a hearty dinner our first evening. The food was plentiful and the decor was charming. Autumn was resplendent everywhere we looked!

There were over 60 folks in our group and we were all treated royally!
And then we were being led in worship by none other that Charles Billingsley!
Click on his name to hear the most beautiful song he sang this week. Here it was sung at the pastors conference last year.

There being 10,000 celebrators in attendance, in one huge auditorium, we were thankful for the multiple wide screens for our viewing! Charles led the worship for each session and then Dr. Jeremiah provided wonderful teaching on coping with the myriad emotions and problems we face in these trying times!

Lynn and I stocked up on some of his fantastic books,
as well as others on sale in the ballroom.
Then were we ever blessed to have him sign them,, he was sooo amazing to sit for hours during the week signing as many books for celebrators as time would possibly allow!

On Tuesday our group got to shop a bit at Tanger outlets and several of us enjoyed a trolley ride around Pigeon Forge as we tried to make our way back to the hotel!

Such a beautiful area...

Here we were praying that the skiff of showers that just popped up would quickly dissipate!
And yes, the hotel had a welcoming committee out front when we arrived safely but exhausted back to our rooms!

On Wednesday we were delighted to dine at The Olde Mill...
Photobucket
famous for it Corn Chowder and other vittles!

And then we were back to the conference for the highlight of the event...

This time we had better seats and there ws electricity in the air!
The stage was decked out in patriotic hues and the Bellevue Choir and orchestra of Memphis was tuning up for the marvelous extravaganza!
Dottie, Gerri, and I were decked in our excited aura of expectancy...

and soon Charles was leading us in the opening overture!

Sandi Patty, gave us a rousing Anthem...

He looked wonderful,,, so relaxed and joyful to stand before an admiring, respectful audience!
He spoke eloquently of love of God and country, and the importsnce of standing firm on one's convictions, for the Right, and our freedoms under God! He provided a beautifully inspiring talk on his experience as president for over an hour with no teleprompter and just a joyful exuberance for the Lord. The event ended with Charles singing The Midnight Cry which you can hear by clicking on his name above... What an evening it was... we'll never forget the wonder of it all!

  1. Oh my, I've been conventioning this week too!!! We didn't have any presidents at our convention though.

I LOVE your sky photos. I haven't done a Sky Watch Friday for a long time - - - but fear not, it does NOT mean the sky has fallen over here.

    One day I'll be back - - -
