Spiritual Sundays

Let's join Charlotte  to share inspiration   here.
I dont know about you,  but it appears  to me that the more items I read this new year,  the more I am convinced that God is doing something new  in this new year...
Actually, for me and my small prayer  group   that has been meeting now for five years,   we have been experiencing this shift  for some time.In obedience  to  God's call on us  a year ago we  set about  to  begin a  prayer initiative  in our community,
whereby  Christians from all denominations  would come together  to break through  the  boundaries that divide us to exalt the One who  unites us... in this year we have had  over half a dozen prayer events  across our  city  and the  outworking of this  has been  phenomenal. At our last  event  in December we  had   nearly 50  committed  prayer warriors  representing over  a dozen churches  come together to pray and worship God ...  also,  in these months  God  has us together with a great man of God who is a semi retired pastor who now is teaching us from his home on spiritual warfare that is so needed in these days.  We are  learning about deliverance ministry and  the importance of scripture memorization.
I can not   tell you how exciting it is to know you are part of   something  greater than yourself right in  the midst of  God's Kingdom work..
I had  further confirmation   when I read  Beth Moore's   January Newsletter..You   ought to read the full letter for  the  complete context,  but I am sharing  this part  in connection   with my own   understandings  from  God's call on  my life...

"We must all be willing to exceed denominational boundaries. Revival is at stake. Nearsightedness will trip us and disunity will slay us in the perilous days to come. We can prioritize our denominations over the Scriptures if we want to but we will shrivel up and die on the vine if we do.

We who are called to teach must teach the Scriptures even if – and especially when – they differ from our long-held stance. That we will answer for.

These are days for bravery.

To avail ourselves to the Holy Spirit and a fresh work of Christ in our midst, our healthy fear of God must far exceed our fear of man. I say this with tremendous love. Those who refuse to rock the boat when Jesus is tossing the waves in their faces will never know the thrill of the water beneath their feet."

One of the things   that is  becoming  amazingly clear to  me  in our study group is that it is opening  up   the full gospel message   in a fresh way....  he is  showing us  that  God isnt exactly pleased with the  way in which  His Word has been  twisted and  how the understanding is manipulated to   fit  a denominational  theology..That in this twisting,  religious traditions  replace  God's truth  whereby whole portions of New Testatment teaching  becomes  irrelvant  to the church today.... and   that  seems  unconscionable to me..  Replacement theology.....  Cessationism..... become catch phases,  that  define   these  religious traditions....  pastors coming out of many seminaries today a re being taught   these traditions in the name of  theology, and  the  true and complete gospel message  written in   scripture is  being  watered down to the extent that the power of the Word  is  diminshing...  whole congregations are  floundering in mediocrity of understanding....  We can  look no further than our  own families, neighborhoods,  schools, media, government,     world to see that  something  is desparately wrong and I fear  we  can lay much blame on the church universal and its leadership  for  the faulty, inadequate teaching  that is going on  in this and previous generations.
Wings of Eagles
Here is  the challenge:    Press in for  more from God and  hear His still voice  and act  on  it in obedience...Read and study the Word for yourself...  be brave... hold your  church and  their message accountable....  ask hard questions....stay focused,   stand firm  on the prinicples  written in  the Word.....   use your voice,,,,   these are  difficult days  and  worse to come...find your courage to  stand up in faith.  Take the time to  study  post modernism....   it is the destruction of  truth  with  a  new definition of  it  which is    being reestablished in all areas  of   our society...   We must not  let  the truths of scripture  become  postmodern..  It is as if the churches  have been  slumbering.....  Arise! Shine!

  1. Amen, and when we can accept the scriptures for what they say and believe them, then revival will begin first in us and spread to others. May God bless your group or prayer warriers as they learn to take back what the Devil has stole from them.

  2. This is a wonderful post. Our pastor's sermon today was about prayer and he said it was the most important thing for us Christians. I know I need to beef up my prayer life. How marvelous to be a part of the prayer group because there is such power in prayer.
Thank you for popping in to see me.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  3. Amen and amen! Our small group has been praying earnestly since May 2011 and have seen amazing changes in our church. Many of us feel that 2014 is going to be a year of harvest. Come Holy Spirit!
