The Simple Woman Daybook

For Today~ May 3, 2016

Looking out my window

I love  geraniums...  such happy flowers!

I am thinking
how excited I am with my  spring purchases...  a bit more about them later!
But  think

my new favorite color!

I am thankful

for the good report I got  last week...  there was  one  not so  great,  but  manageable so  for that I am thankful!

One of my favorite things

blogging!

I am wearing
My red tee hirt and navy bermudas

I am creating
ideas for using my new spring purchases!  HEHEHEH

I am reading (read) /watching (watched) / listening to

{where you can share favorite titles, give a book review or pass along a current movie, podcast, music video, or television series you are enjoying}
so  sad to report I have finished the  collection of  Kurland books and am now looking for  a substitute... meanwhile,  I am  very interested in doing some  Books of the Bible study....  I  think  on  the minor prophets!

I am hoping

lose  another  10 pounds...   I am definitely feeling  not as hungry as before!

I am learning

how important it is to  simply trust God!

In my kitchen

for lunch today  I  took out the  boneless chicken strip and  country fried them...  so  delicious..    sliced up and  on top of our  chef salad!  Now I have tomorrow's dinner all set..    friend chicken and rice  with  stir fry!

In my garden
By this time next week the yarrow will be a blaze of gold!!!

The  National Day of Prayer this coming Thursday.. prayer is our only hope as a nation.

National Prayer
by   chairman, Tony Evans,
dad of  Priscilla Shirer, one of my favorite Women's studies  teacher

Dear heavenly Father, we come to You today as a humble people desperate for Your supernatural intervention on behalf of our beloved nation. First, we thank You for all the blessings You have bestowed on our land, blessings that have allowed us to bring so much good and benefit to not only our own citizens but also to the rest of the world. The very ideals upon which this country was founded were based on biblical truths, no matter how some try to rewrite history to deny that very fact today.

This is why our hearts are so broken over how You continue to be marginalized and dismissed by both our people and our institutions. We are also saddened by the fact that Your people have contributed greatly to the spiritual apathy that now engulfs us. Our satisfaction in remaining religious without being fully committed to living out the truths of Your Word has caused us to become co-conspirators with the forces of evil that are destroying us as a society.

It is for this reason that we personally and collectively repent of our carnality and recommit ourselves to becoming visible and verbal disciples of Jesus Christ. Enable us, by Your Spirit, to no longer be secret agent Christians but rather to publicly declare and live out Your truth in a spirit of love so that You feel welcome in our country once again.

Thank You for Your promise to hear our prayers when we call to You with hearts of repentance and obedience, which is how we are appealing to You today, Father. On behalf of Your church, we affirm afresh the priority You are to us that You would fill every dimension of our lives as we seek to bring You glory through the advancement of Your kingdom in our personal lives, our family lives, and in the lives of our churches and our government leaders. We confidently invite heaven’s intervention into all the affairs of our nation and we praise You in advance for Your answer.

In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.

A moment from my day
Sunday after church  we  dined at  our favorite  Chinese restaurant...  yum  then  stopped back at church  for a fabulous senior  student's  singing  recital.. what a    glorious talent...    her  program included  classical pieces,  her favorite hymns,  and    some show tunes..  what with her  grace and  acting talent  she    made   a splash  with  this  fun song!

You can hardly tell the difference between the young lady and the star  in the video!!!
she ended the program with every one's  favorite...
and then my Sweetie took me out  for a drive by ice cream!   A  lovely day for sure!!

Closing Notes:

Today we have  local elections....  I know I have to get out and vote,  but I'm still not 100% sure  for whom to vote... another  reason to pray!

  2. I love geraniums too, but I don't have a green thumb at all. My mother on the other hand had 10 green fingers. Her garden was amazing. We love Chinese food too! How sweet that your sweetie took you to get ice cream, another one of my favorite things.
