Throwing Out a Life LIne

Image result for john 3;16

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16

It has come to my attention that I have about 30 folks who visit my blog   several times a week,  who  never   respond   in a message to me,  but  apparently  come,, I do not know why...  is there something here that draws them,  or are they simply voyeurs who  enjoy peeping into the lives of others.  I would prefer that any who visited here would  leave a message, even as brief as  it may be,  because I lived through  a few years of having a peeping tom  come around our home  as a teen and  it was very uncomfortable.  He was finally found out and reported to the authorities  and that was the end of it...  But in this case,  I realize  even as you  may think you are hiding    there is one who follows you around everywhere you go... One who knows everything about you, who  knows every thought you ever had,  every word you've ever spoken,  every deed you ever done In public and behind closed doors.. and He loves you any way..     For
Psalm 139:13-16  David,   a king of Israel and  a great sinner, said of God
"For you,  God, created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."

And that same God  has followed you all the days of your life  because he is seeking  you..    His Holy Spirit is drawing you out of  the dark and into His marvelous light!

Because 2000 years ago, Paul, a missionary to Rome wrote, as inspired by the Spirit Romans 5:8
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Thus begins a daily writing  on the topic of How to  Be Saved  and come into a love relationship  with the One True God!

Why would I take my time to do this, you ask?

Because in this world I do not know how anyone can live without  God, His protection, His oversight,  His invitation to  come into His throne room  at any time day or night through prayer  and fellowship...  the news  blasts out such obscenities,  such  hatred and lies, such  threat of war and    unrest,  a life without God  must be dismal, indeed...  hopeless in the face of oblivion!  With a simple confession of faith,  the lost  are automatically found,  rescued from the darkness into His glorious light!  Instead of being set adrift,  they  become anchored to the  giver of life and the Creator of the Universe.  I cannot imagine not  taking that simple step..   what is that step

so simple

Paul wrote,  as inspired by  the Spirit

that if you confess with your mouth "Jesus [is] Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised him  Jesus from the dead, you will be saved.

I used to teach this to 4 year olds in my  Sunday school classes and they got it..    even with  their  young minds..  you do not try to explain it...  because  things of the Spirit  are not  naturally understood..  we believe by faith, because it is the Word of God.. and  Jesus is the Word...!!!!

You might  try to outwit me and say   how do we know the Bible is true...
Scholars  smarter and wiser than you or I have  proven it every which way  ..  science has proven much  of  what  nay sayers said for years  couldn't be true... Creation,...  the age of the world,  explained  how man and dinosaurs  walked the earth together. If you continue to be a naysayer  then you are out of touch with  the scholars of today.  and  chances are you a re choosing to  believe  the lies of the enemy  who is perfectly satisfied if you never come to know God ..
I hope I have given you  something to think about.. and if you come back  I choose to beleive the Holy Spirit is drawing you back...  and  you  might like to know the Holy Spirit is  irresistible..  I am praying for you..  Prayers are powerful and  do not return to me void.. so  God bless you  who ever you are.  But if you decide to come back,  be  a good neighbor and say hi at least.

Saturday 9

Welcome to Saturday 9.
Hosted by Samantha!
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) "Ooh la la" is defined as an interjection said when you think someone or something is "surprising, unusual or attractive." Looking back over this week, did you come across anything that deserves an "ooh la la?"
"OOh la la"  has always been our  favorite interjection for our granddaughters  when they  do something spectacular..
Very "ooh la la" worthy!!!

2) In this song, Britney Spears sings that she's eager to accompany you, even if you're not a millionaire. But let's say you suddenly become really rich. What's the first leisure trip you would take with your new funds? Who would you bring along?I would take pour daughter and  her family to  the British Isles..We would tour especially north of London,,   around Bath and the Cotswolds, then on  to  the Lake District,  and  the land of Beatrice Potter,on to Leeds then east to the coast traveling to Bamburgh  and it's amazing castle..New Castle Upon Tyne  and   enjoy the northern most part to including Northumbria and  Hadrian's Wall and into  Scotland. Meander our way to Edinburgh,  around the coast to  St. Andrews and  on to Perth and Pitlochery,oh, my, so much to see.  Stop in at Culloden and on to Inverness, spend a day with my friends, Stacy and Ian,  then on to  Eilean Donan and on to the Hebrides, seeing the Isle of Skye and  staying in the clan home of the McLeod's..  ferry on to  Belfast and  see everything in Northern Ireland and then on to   the Republic of Ireland .  do the grand tour  and ferry on down to Guernsey   for a few days and then ferry back to Wales,   and take in   the western areas of  England  spending  a  goodly time in Devon! That's about it off the top of my head!

3) Britney is eager to dance with you, even if you don't wear designer clothes. Let's say you need to add a blouse (or shirt) to your wardrobe. Where's your go-to for clothes shopping?
Not to  designer I'm afraid.. probably Kohl's!
4) The video begins with Britney at the movies with her two young sons. Will you be seeing any family members this weekend?  Alas, no..,    but we do hope to see them in August.   I will get to see  several  members of the greater family... cousins and such  in mid-July  which I am looking forward to!!!

5) This is a theme from the movie Smurfs 2. A Smurf is a little blue creature who lives in a mushroom-shaped house in the forest. Assuming that your home is not shaped like a mushroom and isn't in the forest, how would you describe your abode? (Mansion, ranch house, farm house, high-rise, igloo ...)
We live in a lovely, modest  English Tudor home in a section of town known for it's  lovely older homes.  Our yard is exceptional  reaching through the block  from one street to the other, much to mow but we have lovely oaks and a park-like aspect.
An older photo. our trees have  grown substantially!

6) Britney admits to smoking and biting her nails. What bad habit do you wish you could break?
I have tried to break all of them..well, excepting eating in between meals,,  but  they do say,  eat less,  and  6 times a day... But I think  my less  may not me lass enough!
7) In 2013, when this song was popular, Pope Benedict resigned. Thinking over your working life, have you been more nervous on your first day of a job, or the last one?
Definitely on the first day on the job...!!!Whew!!
8) Also in 2013, golfer Phil Mickelson won the British Open. When did you most recently golf?
Oh, my probably 12-15 years ago...  it was when we went to Myrtle Beach.. We used to go very year,  but have gone now since 2005.

9) Random question -- On what part of your body was the last itch you scratched? MY tum tum..  dry skin!!!

Enjoy your weekend!

FFF

Hosted by Susanne

This week I took  some time out to visit my favorite consignment shop...

I know everytime I go I am going to find something  I  can't live without...  which is sort of crazy because I should be in down size mode, for sure...so I have to get rid of stuff before I can bring anything "new" in!

I am always on the look out for anything with an English flair...transfer ware  dishes, vases,  you get my drift!
Well, also, this year I have been lonesome for kiddies around the house. You might remember that this spring we  purchased
a new  garden  lad to replace one that was broken in a storm!

1.My handsome lad::  On this excursion I  ran across this  very handsome fellow... I had told myself if I ever saw one of these I'd  snatch it right up no matter the cost..  Imagine my surprise when I found it on a 25% off  table, marked  down from $10.00! He may not be in style for some people,  but he adds a youthful charm to my living room corner... I absolutely love him. I've named him James!

2. A gorgeous fluted fan::I am in the process of  planning an update  and  new color scheme to  the guest room.  We  are having special guests in August, and Ive been collecting some luscious lilacs  to  create a wonderful  arrangement in there.  When I spotted this  perfectly  fanned vase, I knew  it was a blessing just for me!!!  Who could turn it down for $4.00.
3. A Rose's Guardian angel:: We are still working along trying to get our new rose garden going..  The plantings seem to be growing so slowly compared to the older  knock out roses that seemed to take off like gang busters a couple of years ago.
So  ever so gradually I am  looking for other acoutrements for the garden to  bring it a bit to life!!!  I found this darling  garden angel who  attracted a beautiful blue bird...  Hopefully, the garden will attract some, as well! Nesting inthe old stump  where hubs cut back the  over growth that made way for my garden, the angel  has a primary spot to oversee the fledging plants!!!

4.  A new garden flag:: The consignment shop, also, sells  a wonderful array of garden flags...  The colors in this one  drew my attention.  I love them all  so much.

I think the garden is coming along!
Shame on those deer for eating the blooms off of my  lilies!
5 A Sea Captain's Delight for Dinner::This time last week,  after I had   gone through a lengthy ultrasound at the hospital, Hubs let me  choose between my two favorite places for dinner. Well, I knew the one I chose was a favorite of his,as well!

Since it was a bit before 4 we could still dine off the lunch menu and they have a marvelous fried oyster  plate as a luncheon special...  and hubs loves their oysters!
He likes them extra crispy  and  they were perfect!

I enjoyed the fish and chips...  that cod was  so flaky and light,  yummilicious!,
I'd say it has been a lovely week.. Until next time!!  Have a wonderful weekend!!
