For Today

Outside my Window...a new refreshing day is dawning. The cold front has finally passed us here in SW Virginia, and the air is mild and much less humid. It promises to be a lovely day!

I am thinking...of walking the track in about an hour. I am hoping my friend, Dottie will join me there.

I am thankful for.... the wonderful day we had yesterday with family at the reunion and with our church at the Independence celebration. I am also thankful that it is all behind us. I was sort of dreading having two such huge events in one day, but God was so good in giving us a reprieve in the weather and in working out the circumstances for so many of the clan to be able to attend.

From the kitchen...my kitchen is very quiet today. No sounds of breakfast, it most probably is a cereal morning. My dh brought me a cup of "first brew" this morning. I have no plans at this time for a kitchen fest this afternoon.

I am creating... a water color painting for my 'Summer Swap". It is almost finished. I do plan to finish it today!

I am going...to stop in at my favorite consignment/craft/ antique shop today. I found something cute for the "Swap" there last week, and now I want to go back to browse today!

I am wearing... my jammies this morning. I will be wearing jeans today.

I am reading...is reading Rivals for the Crown by Kathleen Givens. I also have my Patriarch Bible study work to do today! I am behind in my study again this week!

I am hoping...to have some friends in this week. We having been wanting to view a video together for some weeks now. Hopefully we can get together this week.

I am hearing... ny neighbor's workmen building a new garage. I hear hammering intermittently between birdsong, and the whirring of the air conditioner.

Around the house...outside everything looks so nice because we got out and worked hard cleaning out some hedge rows and deweeding a couple of beds. I love my new daylilies we planted and I am hoping to take dh to the hosta farm one evening this week to buy some hostas to plant.

One of my favorite things...is my digital camera because it has allowed me to create this blog. However, as I am out of batteries I can't wait to get to the store to get some!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...I will be taking my mom to the orthopedic specialist tomorrow following my Patriarch study, Wednesday...The Ageless Bible study and fellowship supper Study on Wednesday night at our church. Thursday I will be attending a Bluebird seminar with some friends, and Friday is a toss up!

Here is a picture I thought I'd share with you...PhotobucketThe painting is a scene from my Aunt Virginia's front porch I did a couple of seasons ago. The cute blue painted teapot was created by my sweet mom!

  1. My digital camera just eats batteries. My husband got me a set of rechargeables which would be great... if I ever managed to recharge them.

  3. I love my digital camera, too - or should I say I love my youngest daughter's camera! Hers can take consecutive pictures much faster than mine can.

I had an Aunt Virginia, too! I saw the "July" on your teacup. We both posted a teacup today!

    Have a great week!
