Tea for Two, a Chat, and a Prayer

Today I am sharing on
Tablescape Thursday
and
Thursday Favorite Things
I  am so also very Thankful  today!

This week  a  friend   from   many years ago  contacted me  through facebook  asking  for us to get together over tea and   just catch up and     then    went on to request me to pray with her over  an upcoming  event...
Now, I  had  hardly seen her in the  last  30 years  but  she does live  within a mile of our home and   we used to attend the same church  so  we   are and ever  will be   Sisters in the Lord,  so  I  was   very excited to reconnect...That is the way it is with God's children...   with the love of God  indwelling us  we are  free to love one another   as   family and whether  we  are  meeting for the first time or xatching up after  many years,  the  connection is there.. the   feelings strong!  I am sothankful  for   God's wonderful family of believers and how we  encourage and   edify one another and pray for one another...   the 'One Another's of the Bible   make us a powerful   concept of the church universal....  a precious TRUTH from God's Word!
Of course, if you know me, you know  I   love  tea parties... so what an awesome opportunity  to    set a  table for  two!

Then this morning,  I    found a lovely and simple   muffin  recipe in my latest  edition of TeaTime magazine.
Sugar and Spice Muffins
Muffins:
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup melted butter
1/4  cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup milk

Coating:
1/2 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
Muffins:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

In a small bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.
In another bowl, combine thoroughly themelted butter, sugar, egg, and milk. All to the dry ingredients, and stir only to combine.
Fill 12 greased large muffin tins 2/3 full of batter (do not use paper muffin cups).I used an ice cream scoop which worked perfectly.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until  golden  brown on top. As soon as they are done, remove from the oven, tip the muffin tin over and knock the muffins out.
Coating:
Melt butter or margarine in a small saucepan, or in microwave, but do not overheat.

Combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
While they are still hot, dip the muffins in the melted butter and then roll in the sugar mixture, to coat completely.
Place upright on a serving plate. Serve warm.

I love my  Old Country  Roses  dessert plates and  tea cups  so  I   used my  rosy tea pot
with its matching tea caddy  all set with  various   nice  herbal  teas ...

and  we   settled in for a lovely long  chat  about  churchlife,  family,  children,  and   our   hopes and dreams  for   the coming  days, months, and years....   we  really took time to  'Catch' up!!
And then we prayed!  What a blessing  to  enter right into the throne room of God  and  intercede  for one another....   it was an  wonderful   afternoon... One of my f avorite   ways to while away  the hours with   a good friend and   a pot of tea!
