Favorite Family Foto

Today is Friday, and folks are posting their Favorite Family Fotos. To enjoy the others, check in over at Deborah's. She us hosting this fun celebration!

I was just going through some old photos and ran across this favorite. Taken over 25 years ago this is my maternal Grandma and Grandpa Cox. Sorry to say the scanner is not hooked up to my laptop, so I had to take a picture of the picture. I will try to scan it on another time. But here it is for today, anyway. I have some beloved family members who might enjoy seeing this one!!
My mother's parents had been dairy farmers in Southwest Virginia on a beautiful parcel of land called Hide-Away Farm. They were hard working, patriotic folk who loved their country and served it well. Grandpa served in France during WWI and was a great historian. Grandma was a model farm wife and mother. They raised six lovely daughters and inspired the following generations that anything was possible with hard work and fortitude. Their progeny have and continue to prosper and do well. Their legacy to their children being a trust and love for the Lord and through their prayers have yielded generational blessings that are still being fulfilled!

  1. Thank you for sharing your grandparent's story and photo with us, Carolyn.

Hard work and faith make for a successful family and future generations to come. It's sounds like your grandparent's knew the 'secret'.

  2. Carolyn, thank you for sharing this picture and your memories of your grandparents. This was a lovely tribute to them.

  3. Isn't it surprising sometimes how a photo can bring back a flood of memories and emotions. It sounds as if you had wonderful grandparents who instilled their values well!

    take care,

  4. What a beautiful tribute to your grandparents. Wow, six daughters. I am one of five daughters. We are all so close as sisters. It sounds like the daughters grew up to be as wonderful as their parents. That is the best compliment a parent can have. Thank you for sharing such a special photo.

    Hugs, Jeanne
