Last Night at Amanda's

We got to go to Amanda and Joshua's last night to celebrate their new home Mama Jean and PopPop got to see their place for the first time.

Their new townhome is really nice, and so comfortable for them as they work so busily on finishing their theses this fall. Amanda is such a fabulous cook, and she and Joshua love to plan out new and intriguing menus and experiment with new foods. Josh is a whiz at the barbecue, so we were very excited about the aromas that saturated the air when we entered their place. when we first walked in, we could tell that it was going to be an amazing dinner.

Mama Jean was thrilled that there were no steps to get into their new home compared to their other place!!

Lynn was drawn to the grill to help hold the yummy heavy laden platter of peach glazed chicken with marinated peaches.

The cook was ecstatic to have a clean kitchen before the dinner as her friend Ashley,a houseguest had promptly cleaned it up before we got there and before she had to leave, Now that is the kind of houseguest to have!!

And there was the dining table laden with the most delectable foods, squash/leeks au gratin, radicchio salad with red peppers, tommy toes, and mangos, drizzled with sun dried tomato vinaigrette, cheesy/garlic biscuits, (ala Red Lobster) delicious steamed rice, and fresh corn off the cob.

And then there was dessert! Amanda and Joshua have benefited from living near a fabulous berry pickin' orchard. They have a freezer full of blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Last night we had this!

Amanda turned my plate around to get every angle.Photobucket Excuse me while I reminisce.
Then we just were able to visit around their place.

Amanda talked Mama Jean into climbing the stairs to see their office, where they spend most of their time!
